Complete Home Inspection

Complete home inspections was great. They inspected a home we were purchasing that was new construction. They were very thorough and did a great job.

Miki was punctual, professional and had excellent recommendations. I would use her again without any hesitation.

I could tell within seconds that Miki Mertz was a highly-skilled professional with many years of experience. She walked me through the house my wife and I are buying and gave a thorough rundown of every nook and cranny. She pointed out faults and dangerous issues I probably wouldn't have noticed years from now (or until something bad happened). She even gave quick tutorials on how the systems worked (AC, Furnace, electric). And then, not five hours after the inspection was finished, we got a 27-page report on the property with suggested repairs before moving in. Absolutely superb. Can't recommend Miki and Complete Home Inspection enough.

Miki was there before myself or the realtor. She has already started on some exterior inspections. She inspected everything very thoroughly. She not only listed/showed me the defect but recommended the fix. She was very personable and professional. Her itemized report of the home inspection is very detailed listing problems large and small. She sent the report the same day with pictures on a word document. She also performed a radon test that we are glad we requested. She sent the radon test results the same day it was completed. I highly recommend her to anyone for any home inspection.

We were purchasing our first home, which is a stressful situation in itself, but was compounded by the fact we were moving from out of state (across the country!). I wasn't able to be present for the home inspection, and so throughout the entire home buying process I needed agents that would be willing to work around that hurdle. Miki was happy to work directly with my real estate agent to schedule an inspection time that my agent was able to attend. During the inspection, Miki readily showed my agent, who was recording the inspection for me, any issue she found and her recommendations on how to fix it. When the inspection was finished, I received a comprehensive PDF, with embedded pictures of each area, outlining all areas that were inspected and any issues (or general comments) that Miki had. After reviewing the PDF, I had a few questions regarding the heating system the house had (heat pump + gas furnace). Miki was more than willing to explain how the system worked and addressed any of the concerns I had. Overall, it was a great experience, both in Miki's help with facilitating an out-of-town buyer, but also in the peace of mind that she gave us by not only performing a thorough inspection, but by outlining each area in detail in a PDF. We can now purchase our home in complete confidence.

Information was taken from Angie's List website and re-published, without consent, on provider's public website. It disclosed personal information. I emailed Miki, requesting that it be removed. She confirmed with me it would be removed 'soon'. I've waited patiently a month, it's still on the site the same. Overall, we were very happy with Miki's inspection. She was there about 10 minutes earily and was very professional. We followed her throughout the inspection (which lasted about 2 hrs), and she explained what she was looking for and commented/pointed out items of interest. When considering the purchase of another house, I happened upon a report prepared by Eric Maeyens of Complete Home Inspection, Inc. So impressed with the thoroughness, I called them to have Eric inspect the home my brother is buying. They did not disappoint! Their representative was very helpful in discussing our needs and coordinating scheduling. Eric arrived on time, was friendly and professional, and discussed concerns with us while on site. His detailed, concisely written report with pictures arrived via email earlier than expected --all 47 pages (radon test is a two/multiple day process). As an aside this company's website is easy to navigate, offers great info and links to additional resources. Complete Home Inspection provided us some crucial recommendations prior to purchase, along with notable necessities that will be remedied once the home is occupied. I will use them in the future, too, before selling my own home that I may know in advance any maintenance possibly overlooked. In addition to the quality service, I did my homework and their pricing was a pleasant surprise.

We arrived several minutes after the agreed upon time. Miki had arrived early, and our first impression was wholly positive. She was professional, prepared and immediately personable. We went into the house where she explained her process and encouraged us to ask questions. We then got to work. Her inspection was methodical but very efficient. She noted many important issues that would have escaped most notice (uneven tiles in the master bath and improper corrugated pipes on the sink drains are just a few). She is an excellent communicator. Every one of our questions was answered completely and concisely. Miki had already completed the exterior inspection of the home before we arrived. This was completely acceptable to us, because she incorporated her explanations of the noteworthy exterior deficiencies into the interior walk through. For example, she brought up the erosion and drainage issues around the attached shed while inspecting the nearby patio doors. And while inspecting the fireplace, she brought up the fact that some of the exterior bricks on the chimney were exhibiting spalling. Fortunately for us, there were no other exterior issues. (Kinda explains why we liked the house so much, it being in great shape and all.) We left the inspection feeling extremely confident that we had a thorough understanding of the house. We would recommend Complete Home Inspection to anyone looking to purchase a home in the Kansas City metro area. Miki is fantastic.
