We are very happy with our plantation shutters. They work perfectly and Budget blinds was able to closely match the wood stain. They recommended a hybrid product for our kitchen windows due to moisture concerns and those are excellent as well. Install was quick and easy and they came back to replace a staple that slipped loose from one of the slats. I'm not sure if it matters, but we actually used Budget Blinds of Lee Summit but they aren't listed that way here on Angieslist.
Description of Work: Plantation shutters on 3 large windows and 2 smaller windows.

Description of Work: Budget blinds installed faux wooden blinds in my family room and bathroom. The middle window was not measured properly, so they had to return the blinds and reorder. The blinds were installed a little over a week later. I was pleased with the outcome and the blinds matched my woodwork perfectly.

It is owned by a husband and wife. They installed a composition shade that I had originally wanted. It had some problems. The heat caused it to warp. They were very tentative. They came back out and installed a top of the line shade at no extra cost. I was pleased with them.

The install process went well taking a little over an hour. These are some nice people and I would recommend their company and services to any of my friends and relatives that needed nice blinds .A+
Description of Work: Rich, the owner of Budget Blinds Olathe, is very personable guy and tries hard to accomodate your individual home decorative situations with his nice choices of both colors and blind styles. My home is a solar home and I had some extra heat issues that surfaced after installation and Rich was quick to come to my aid. Rich pushed his company for a total upgrade replacement to solid wood blinds at no cost to me. His wife Vickie was most helpful with scheedualing and rescheedualing when I had to make a change. The guy that installed the shades was prompt The poor guy had to install shades in areas that are difficult to access and was still very nice about it even though he had to come out a second time and do it again.

We were very satisfied. They were very knowledgeable about the subject. They were timely. The product was good and the prices were also good. I felt that they were pretty reliable, because they had to send off for the product. They tracked it and got it to us as soon as they could. We would use them again.
Description of Work: We have used them several times for some small blinds for the living room and then a larger/vertical blinds for the sliding glass door to the deck.

I was not very happy with them. What was agreed upon in terms of billing and the actual invoice did not match. They were very difficult to deal with when it came to the money side of the transaction. They wanted to be paid 100% in advance. They needed to be paid before even ordering the product which is quite frustrating because there is no guarantee that they are going to do what they have been paid for. I had a dog that destroyed three of the blinds. They came out and quoted the price to replace those. They charge me double what they quoted me. They hounded me until I paid them the extra over what I was quoted. It was enough that I will never do business with them again.
Description of Work: I bought a brand new house and they were the blind contractor to install window blinds in the new house.

Response from Budget Blinds of Shawnee & Lenexa
On the member's original order, what he was quoted and charged matched exactly. The agreed upon payment and payment method, that the member agreed to, made the payment due in full at the time the order was placed. There were other payment options available. On the original order the manufacturer sent 2 blinds to us 1” shorter than ordered. We left those up and informed the member that the manufacturer would be sending replacement blinds and we would be returning the 2 that were sent too short back to the manufacturer. Before the 2 new replacement blinds came in the member's dog chewed the 2 blinds that were too short as well as 2 other blinds. There would now be a charge to replace the 4 blinds his dog chewed. When we installed the replacement blinds the member gave the installer a check for half the price of the 4 blinds his dog had chewed. That was on June 2, 2010. After several phone calls, the member agreed to send a check for the balance. We had still not received a check by August 2010, so yes, we left several messages and were finally paid September 13, 2010.

Excellent experience overall! A few of the blinds came in damaged. Budget Blinds will not take full payment untill all window treatments are complete and to the customers satifaction.
Description of Work: Rich came to our house and went over every kind of blind/shutter that would work for our windows. With arched windows we were limited to the blinds/shutters. Rich showed us the blinds that would give us coverage on the windows but would cover the least amount of our trim. We love our Blinds!
