Quality of service is worth the price. Quite impressed with the level of detail provided with the estimate of service. They walked my property and explained all the items and recognized a few preventative sprays were not really needed since the original estimate. The technician who came to prune roots on 5 trees explained the process and did an outstanding job. Very impressed with the service, professionalism and attention to detail.

They did work on my neighbor's lot and damaged my lawn. Didn't even bother to say anything.

Arbor Masters no called-no showed for an appointment to provide an estimate. When I called them, they said they ‘lost my appointment’, must have been a ‘glitch in the scheduling system’.

The office staff was very courteous and responsive. We had a little trouble initially coordinating our estimate and work, but once it was scheduled they were very prompt and did a great job. I would recommend Arbor Masters.

I had incredible service. I use them every couple of years. I made the mistake of using an outfit of Home Adviser that sent me to guys who were not certified arborists or anything like that. Guys with an F-150 pickup truck and a chain saw that butchered my trees. I've had incredible service from Arbor Masters. Competent, qualified, professional, efficient, and professional. It was a fair price. And I got the value for my money. I could have gone and saved $100 bucks with the guy with his F-150 pickup truck, let him butcher my trees, and then sue me when he fell out of them. When the tornadoes came through here a couple of years ago, a Bradford Pear was blown down in my yard and on my neighbor's fence, even though there were other houses in the neighborhood losing roofs and things. They were actually out here within 24 hours. Which actually scared me. They said 'You're a good customer, so we wanted to at least stop by and make sure there was no other damage.' I don't know what else to say about that. There's a lot of respect there. They've always been perfect - they're always here when they say they're going to show up. I plan on using them again - every other year.

Once again, EXCELLENT job by Arbor Masters. We used them last year for tree trimming; this year we raised canopies and cleared out dead wood and we now have the best looking trees in the entire development. These guys know what they're doing and will make sure you are pleased with the job. Clean-up is thorough and the yard looks better than before they arrived. I won't think of using another tree service as long as they are in business.

When I began using Arbor Masters a couple of years ago, they were great and I gave them a lot of business. This year, however, they have been horrible every time I've dealt with them. Early in the season, I asked their representative, Laura, for an estimate for a large landscaping project. She said she would send someone out to do it and I never heard any more from them on it. The project has since been performed by another company and they did a fantastic job. Last year, the Arbor Master people seemed to know exactly when to apply fruit reducer to my locust tree and sent a great guy out, who knew what he was doing, to perform the injection and it ended up working perfectly with nary a bean pod in sight in the fall. This year, however, everything had changed. I tried with phone calls to them for advice on what I should be watching for (timing of the buds, etc.) on the locust so I could notify them when it was ready, which is what we did last year. This year, when I was able to get a response at all, I got differing and confusing opinions on when it would be ready as well as a rather snippy directive from the receptionist "we will know when to apply it". I was told at that time that it would not be ready for a couple of weeks, then received a call a day or two later stating that their man said "the locusts are ready now" and he would be out to do the injection immediately. I don't know whether he actually did the injection because there is no evidence of it other than them charging me $150, which I paid. My locust tree now has a bumper crop of bean pods which are unbelievably hard to clean up in the fall and cause a plague of gnats which come through my bedroom window screens. Either their timing wasn't right or the injection wasn't performed correctly (if done at all) or both. I emailed Laura to inform her of my dissatisfaction and, as usual, did not hear back from her. A reputable company would done something to achieve some satisfaction for an established customer. If they didn't want to give a refund, then they could send some guys out to pick the bean pods off the tree, but when they don't even attempt to remedy anything, that's inexcusable. Normally, I avoid giving negative reviews, but this has been too bad to let slide.

Looking for a tree service? There is always the guys who drive through the neighborhood in an F-150 pick up carrying a chainsaw (low cost / cheap) or certified arborists. I have tried it both ways and have found that while F-150 guy is cheaper it can cost more in the long run. You do get what you pay for! Arbor Masters uses certified arborists (people who really do know about trees), bonded and insured workmen. When trees are trimmed "properly" they are healthier and usually do not need annual trimming. I have used Arbor Masters a couple of times now and have always been impressed with respectful, prompt, and professional manner of all their folks I have been in contact with. Since I started using them (rather than the F-150 guys) I have gotten many compliments from neighbors on our trees. Like a quality haircut, rather than annual trimming I only have my trees trimmed every two or three years. I have also noted that because of their attention to details like cleaning out bulk from the trees, my lawn is more healthy. Yes, I am a serious fan and they are who I immediately go to for tree service.

After waiting almost 7 months for Arbor Masters to come out and seal the paver patio that they installed we started calling them and after many no return calls, unanswered emails and missed appointments they finally showed up one day and did the work. No one called to ask if we were pleased with their work and likewise no one showed up to verify if the work was done correctly. It wasn't. Besides seams that were cracking and the settling of the first row of pavers their seal coating was unacceptable. Totally uneven and blotchy all around. Parts looked like they were totally missed. Again no calls or emails to them were returned and we finally called a manager , Tyler West, to complain. He said he would investigate and get back to us the next day. We never heard from him again until 3 months later they showed up and removed the first seal coating and re-did it again, correctly this time. But, sure enough no calls to us asking if we liked the finished product or were happy with it. We now are. After almost a year they got it right. We have used Arbor Masters previously and we were always very happy with them. But never again will we use them and I would refuse to recommend them to anyone.

Made the quote process and service set up extremely easy via e-mail. Service was prompt & professional. All my shrubs are mature and they did a great job of pruning them back. I would definitely use them again.

Provider did not contact me to let me know they couldn't keep the arranged appointment. What if I hadn't called? Update: The arborist called with a change of plans and asked to drop by this afternoon after all, but we had made other plans by then.

Excellent job. Called and got a quote to have three ash trees in my yard thinned out and the canopies raised. We accepted Arbor Masters bid after having used another tree service twice in the past 10 years. My neighbor recently used them and we were very impressed with the work they completed. The crew arrived on time and began their work in terribly hot weather. Two and a half hours later they finished and the job they did was even better than we expected...almost looks like we had new trees planted! The crew was three very hard working and friendly guys that take their work and safety seriously. Cleanup after the work was impeccable - we will use Arbor Masters again if the need arises and recommend them without hesitation!

We had just finished some major work to the back of our house and yard was left in a awful mess. We also had major drainage problems from this past summers rain. Grant came out and was very informative and patient with us. We had old deck torn down and Arbor Masters built a beautiful new paver patio. They then installed a new drainage system that would take the water from the side yard and run it out the very front and back yard. They moved significant amounts of dirt to get the proper slopes for drainage and finished it all off with landscape rock and mulch. They installed new planting bed's around the back of the house and finished it off with edging and more landscape rock. And lastly they put covers on all of our window wells to keep future rains out. These guys were very thorough, cleaned up the yard after each work day and I would, as you can tell, highly recommend them to anyone for any kind of landscaping they wanted done in their yard. They arrived on time each day and did their work with the least amount of disruption to our household.

Started by contacting city to get list of licensed tree companies. Compared that list with companies having high ratings on Angie's List. Got five bids in November 2013. Initial call to Arbor Masters was answered by a person who was personable and able to immediately schedule the estimate and give me the arborist's name. Arborist showed one day early, but I happened to be home. He apologized; explained why; and said he had tried to reach me. (I later discovered they had my work number listed as my home number.) He explained they would contact KCPL to drop the service line, and that would slow the process. Arbor Masters would drop my phone and internet lines. The estimate was neither the least nor the most expensive of the bids. Bid referred to tree simply as "dead tree" rather than silver maple. I looked up their certificate of liability and decided to try them. Winter came. Early spring I called them to find out status. They told me that KCPL required a non-residential company to remove some of the branches first, and this was being taken care of. I came home one day to find that that had been done. I wanted to be home when the tree would be taken down, and requested sufficient notice of the date. They gave me more than a week's notice, but it fell on a day I couldn't be home, so cannot comment on the actual removal. The arborist notified me that day that it might be several days before KCPL returned my power, but I did have it that evening. He also acknowledged they weren't sure they had re-connected my phone line correctly, but I had phone service. When I got home the yard was all cleaned up and the tree was gone.

We have been using this company since they were called Shawnee Mission Tree Service, and they have become our tree service of choice. This time we wanted 4 ailing pine trees removed from the back of our lot. The trees leaned over a privacy fence that is not ours and topped out in power lines. So we wanted a company that understood and would handle the risk well. The project took about 4 hours, with 2 guys. The trees were successfully removed without incident and everything was cleaned up just as promised. I had indicated that I wanted someone to be home during the work and, as luck would have it, a time slot opened up consistent with my request. Brian, the supervisor, came out to check on the work in progress and while there advised us to push our maple tree's deep root fertilization to Fall due to the unseasonably warm Spring temperatures. He even asked the guys to cut a pesky thick invasive vine at its base in a spot too difficult for us to reach.

It was a good job. The crew did exactly what was bid and cleaned up nicely. I had another bid which was lower from a firm who had trimmed this tree several times, but I was unimpressed this time with the office, so went with Arbor Master, whose office is fantastic and so polite and kind. They always answer the phone and can't say enough good things about the office.

Grant did the bid and was here for the installation, also, and he was great! The crew was polite and did a good job--cleaned up following installation, and we were satisfied with the job even though felt it was a little pricey.

Arbor Masters had crews in our area with a claw the day I contacted them for an estimate so they were on site within the hour. They had to work around a privacy fence and an 18" pool and did no damage to either. The tree was taken down and every last branch was removed from the property in less than 2 hours time. We are extremely pleased with the work that they provided and definitely recommend their services.

Everything about the experience was very good and professional. I was especially impressed with the professionalism of the crew and their importance placed on the safety aspect of bring down a 25-35 foot tree close to the house. The did a great job of cleanup and were a courteous group of guys. Justin stayed in constant contact and was also there to superivse. Afterwards, the company called to thank me for selecting them and also offered a discount with future trimming. I like these guys. I had a minimum of 3 estimates from the top performers on the list and they were the only ones to come back with a reasonnable cost, and the only ones who could complete the entire job for that cost. I will use them again.

They did a lovely job, were responsive, and cleaned up after themselves. Everyone was professional and -- to my untrained eye -- the trimmed tree looks perfect.
