Scott Miller Painting & Wallpapering

Scott C Miller was supposed to come in spring after windows were done to paint them. He called last minute that he could not come until july. When he arrived in july, he wanted ½ down payment before work had never been started. I did not want to pay ½ down, so we agreed to ¼ to start, and another ¼ when he was ½ done with the project. Once the project was near completion, and I had already paid him about $3600, and he wanted to have the final $300 before he would complete it. While we were discussing this on the phone, he it almost felt as though he was threatening me, and demanded that I put the final check in the mail right that minute. He did not want to talk about when he would finish the project, he just wanted payment for it. He was at my house they day we talked, and was very upset that he did not get the final payment, even though he had been paid for most of the project. I was very surprised at his change in demeanor over the phone. When I got home that day, after he had been in my home, I came home to a very big mess of what appeared to be wood varnish that had been spilled all over the my new stove, the floor, etc. At this point, I have tried to contact him to let him know I was unsatisfied, and wanted him to clean up the mess that he left, but he called me and stated that he would not be back to do the touchup on the painting, or finish the project that he wanted he wanted payment for.
