Worthington Lawn & Tree

I've used a lot of tree services in the past. This firm was on A's List with good recommendations so I took a chance. I was amazed at the quality of the work especially the cleanup - WOW it was more than I would do in my own yard. Well worth the cost.

Mr. Worthington was prompt in arriving for estimate and arrived on time on day of service. His work and professionalism was first rate. He was out of town at time I first contacted him, otherwise he would have received all A's from me!!

Mitch continues to be the VERY BEST in maintenance of our yard maintenance. A KSU graduate he know his profession and is a true professional. More than his professionalism is the fact that he is a fine individual who understands the needs of his clients. As we have been getting older we have asked Mitch and crew to do more of the jobs that we are unable to do because of mobility issues. He has responded with his always gracious. Mitch and his crew are the best.....PERIOD! You cannot go wrong in choosing Worthington Lawn and Tree. His prices are competitive and fair. The quality of his work is the very best. His integrity is above reproach. We have used Mitch for many years and will continue for many more.

Mitch did a great job on everything. This spring was so weird, weather-wise. On the day in late March when he and his assistant came to work on the sprinklers, it began snowing -- and then snowed pretty hard. They worked (with water, no less) until about noon in these conditions. The trees he planted for us have done great. We have been very pleased by Mitch's professionalism, friendliness, and willingness to explain landscape things.

The owner quoted taking the tree down and cutting up the portion we wanted to have cut up that would fall across our driveway. He also said he didn't think the tree would fall. But the day after he came to bid the job, the tree fell that night. We called and had them do the work while we were going to be out of town that week. The work was completed while we were gone. They did most of the work as discussed. I had to have them come back and complete some of the unfinished work. They did clean up and take away the small limbs even though we told them to just pile them up for us to burn. I was disappointed when we were billed the same amount to cut up the tree after it had fallen as the quote to and quot;take downand quot; the tree and cut up. When I originally met with the owner, he told me how much trouble it was going to be to and quot;take downand quot; the tree.

Mitch has taken care of our landscaping and lawn service for over four years. After a terrible wind storm this summer we lost a number of tree limbs and even a tree. He was at our home within three days of the storm to remove the debris that was on the ground. The city didn't get neighborhood limbs removed from the street for at least three weeks while our curb was the only one clean.. We asked Mitch if he could prune the trees to save our home if a future wind storm decided to have fury on our area of town. He said he would and gave us a written estimate. We know of Mitch's fair prices and great work in our landscaping, fertilizing and yard maintenance. With the tree pruning I decided to get another estimate. After that estimate arrived, I immediately called Worthington Tree and Lawn and told Mitch they had the job. You will find his prices not the lowest, but the fairest. When you consider his work there is no comparison, he is superior. Two months after the storm they arrived with a crew of three and trimmed the trees within a day. In the process a section of a large branch fell on our old chainlink fence and bent the upper pole. Mitch had the fence repaired by the end of the day and of course no charge because it was their fault. If you would have seen the 300+ pound, 3 foot piece that inflicted damage, you would say thank God the men were safely away from the area and the safety ropes impeded the weight and direction from a direct hit on the fence. The crew were very safety minded and I was amazed as to how they did their work with safety in mind. If your desire is to get your trees pruned by experts at a fair price then Worthington Tree and Lawn is your best choice.

We used Mitch after getting a number of bids on a major landscape project. We needed good ideas that would utilize our tree loaded property, give us curb appeal and keep the back yard a bird sanctuary. We had many bids with ideas, but Mitch was the only one who listened to us, rather than giving "their" plan. Approaching our senior years, we desired a plan that would be easy to maintain, yet esthetically pleasing. Mitch was by far our first choice, and he has become an integral part of our helping our home to become one with curb appeal and a sanctuary for the birds. He is a graduate of KSU and knows his stuff.... did you know that they can give injections to keep maple trees from getting those crazy seeds? We aren't sure we are ready to try that, but Mitch is a wealth of information. He has worked in the business for a good number of years and just went out on his own in the last few years. He was recommended by another landscape company who was too busy for our small job and we couldn't be happier. You will be too!
