In early March of '11 we were getting a fault code that prevented operation of our Fisher Paykel Double Drawer dishwasher. I called John and he came by later that afternoon to assess the trouble. He was able to determine that the top drawer seal was allowing water to seep out which caused the dishwasher's safety switches to prevent further operation. I also told John that since we have such weak water pressure in our home, the dishwasher occasionally stops and displays the error code for low water pressure. We simply wait for there to be no other water drawing (like a toilet or clothes washer filling) and then restart the dishwasher. John ordered the parts FP recommended for fixing the problem (a new drawer seal and 2 new pull-down motors). He also contacted FP regarding the low water fault and found they offered a relatively inexpensive replacement valve designed for homes with weak water pressure. I asked him to order the valve as well. When he received the parts, John contacted me to setup an appointment. Once he installed the door seal, he checked the dishwasher's operation and found it functioning properly - even without the new pull-down motors installed. John provided me the option of returning the motors (which would save me around $85.00 or he could install them while he was there and had the dishwasher apart. I opted to replace the motors as well but I really appreciated John providing me with both choices. He installed the new water valve and we have had no issues with fault codes or low pressure error since. John is, as far as I know, primarily a one-man business. He's extremely thorough, punctual and very accommodating as well as being more than fair with his labor rates.
Description of Work: In March of 2011 our 7 year old Fisher Paykel Double Drawer dishwasher displayed a fault code and wouldn't function. John properly assess the trouble (leaking top drawer seal) I mentioned we have poor water pressure and sometimes we get a "low water" error code I did some checking with FP and found a replacement valve designed for low pressure water supply He ordered the repair kit (new drawer seal and 2 pull-down motors) and, at my request, the replacement valve John replaced the door seal first and then checked operation before installing motors Since the new door seal fixed the problem, he gave me the option of whether to install the motors or not We have had no problems or error codes since John's service about 5 months ago.

John is a very busy guy (the sign of a quality serviceman in southeast Kansas) and it may take him a day or two get back to you for non-emergency calls. (Emergencies take priority over all other calls) Once in contact, he keeps you posted on his ETA. John takes whatever time is needed to accurately diagnose the problem. He explains the issue in "real people" language and he gives you all available options. His recommendations tend to be conservative in terms of spending your money - In other words, he doesn't steer you to a more expensive solution just to save himself time or hassle.
Description of Work: We've had a Fisher/Paykel dishwasher for the past 6-7 years. John did the original install and in the past couple of years, we also called him for repair of the unit. With every call John has resolved the issues to our satisfaction.
