Stewart Bunn

Well.... I started out by asking if he billed by the job, or by the hour. I think that's when he asked where I lived, Prairie Village, which is very close. He then asked what I needed done. I said I had a lot of things. I asked if he did any plumbing work, because he lists it as a service he provides in his ad, to which he responded yes. I told him that I had been told by my plumbing company, that when I had my addition done, my plumbing had been installed incorrectly,and that it was going to continue to back up. The only solution, was to install a commercial flush toilet, which I needed done, but I wanted his opinion on it, and see what he thought it might cost in the future, when my finances weren't as tight.(ie, if I hired him, liked his work, and this was something he could do, I would use him in the future) It was then that I mentioned that I was on disability. I then told him about a leak under my front porch and asked if he could look at that to see if he could seal it. I had not mentioned any of the other projects yet I don't think, because these were the most important.I told him that before I hurt myself, in Aug 2015, I had planned a large front porch addition that would address this issue, "back when money was no issue" I believe are the words I used. I said I was looking for a short term solution for the meantime. I told him once I got back to work, at the beginning of the year, I could look at the big plumbing project. That's when he said, "I don't think I can be of service to you, but I thank you for your call." I was a little taken aback,because we hadn't even discussed any of the other projects, or made an appt to even come look at any of them, and he hadn't told me how he charged for his work. I went ahead and told him I needed a Rubbermaid shed assembled, and some dry rot replaced around windows, and was in the middle of trying to mention the shingles on my roof when he rudely cut me off and said " I don't think I can be of service to you, but I thank you for your time." I said " No, you just don't think I have enough money for you." (I admit, I did say a curse word, but I'm not sure if I'd hung up yet or not) I never even got to tell him I had a budget to work with, which is actually quite sizeable, and really, none of his business, until after we had at least talked more about other projects, which were ALL on his list of services offered, or had a consultation. He made an assumption, as soon as he heard the word "disability" that I had no money, and didn't even give me a chance to finish my sentence, let alone my conversation. How sad Mr Nunn. Shame on you sir.

Went very well. I initially just wanted the ceiling fan installed but added other things that needed to be fixed. I feel good that I got all those things fixed. I will definitely use Stewart again as there is always something to do around my house.

We fly him in because he does such wonderful work. He is marvelous. If he finds something he can't do, he will find someone for you. He won't leave you hanging. We make a list of repairs for him to do.

Stewart was friendly, professional, prompt, and performed high quality work. Stewart communicated very well, worked efficiently, and did great work. I will definitely hire him again and would strongly recommend his services.

He handled all tasks promptly and professionally. There was a problem with the garage door closing with the weather-stripping, which was not his fault.

Mr. Bunn was very professional and helpful. All the work he did was great and I would highly recommend him!

It's been quite awhile since I've used Stewart's services but when I did I found him to be reliable, conscientious, and creative in his problem solving skills.

It went very good as he was honest and led me to another contracter who completed the work exactly as Stuart outlined.

We've used Stewart several times, and always go to him first for handyman jobs. He's prompt, reliable, does a first-rate job, and his price is most reasonable. We recommend him highly.

He also does general handyman work and in the future is going to finish up the last of the tree damage on the side of the house.

Did not use due to price. Got work done in great manner for 5x less. Again nice guy. Just don't think he knew how to price this field

Two things I like about Stewart: 1) he tells you when he will come--and he will be there. 2) he does work like it was on this own home. Several times I've asked him to do something, and instead of being a "yes" guy, he has suggested a different approach, which made a better outcome.

My neighbor's tree fell on my fence and it caused damage to it and the house. He is very multi-talented. He not only does feces but other handyman type things.

Failed to keep appointment; called after allotted time stating he was overbooked; demonstrated little interest in working with me to setup a second appointment. Only conclusion that can be drawn from this experience is gaining new business is a low priority.

I called four times in an hour to find out if the appointment was still happening. Finally an hour after my scheduled appointment my call was answered. It appears he went to the wrong address, and didn't call or answer his phone because he didn't have it with him. I missed a half day of work and now will miss more work to have someone else come to do the work I needed done.

I called for an estimate on a major plumbing repair. This guy told me that he doesn't charge for estimates but estimates are typically not profitable to him so he was choosing to decline. How did any of you actually get him to come to your home? And who said I would not pay for the estimate (or trip charge, whatever you would want to call it)??? I asked him if he expected me to commit to a repair in advance and he declined again and hung up on me. This was the most shockingly disappointing treatment I have ever received by a tradesman!!!!

He did an excellent job. He responded immediately to my phone call requesting a bid. He came to the house that week, provided a reasonable bid. I hired him and he did the job a few days afterward. He cut out and replaced damaged framing and plywood in the shower. He has worked new construction and is structural engineer. He found some additional damage as we suspected he would once the work area was opened up. He showed me what was needed and completed the work to make everything safe and sound. Even with the additional work which included an additional trip to pick up lumber his fee was only $80 more than his bid. I feel he is very honest and competent. I am glad I found him through Angie's List. I will hire him again as I need repairs.

I haven't decided to go with this project as yet because of holiday and weather. When I do I will contact him for availability and service options.

We didn't feel that the appointment went very well considering he pretty much didn't want/couldn't do anything on our list. He left promising a quote but we never heard from him again.

He came when pre-arranged, had all equipment needed and did an excellent job. Past experience with other service providers had taught me that the unskilled can easily chew up the wood. He is on my list tocall whenever I need something done.

Stewart Bunn was responsive, efficient and professional. He was certainly over-qualified for the job, but completed it promptly and cheerfully. He also provided useful information about our future roofing needs. Stewart's quoted fee seemed a bit high for the job's scope, but I agreed to it and he came through as agreed when a highly-rated Angie's List roofing company postponed two appointments.

Work was done to my standards.

We will continue to use Stewart for many different types of jobs that require his diverse skill sets. He takes considerable pride in the high-quality work he does. I hope a bunch of other Angies' List users find him but not too many so that he
