Started out ok and then turned disappointing. Was going to go with another company but they were overbooked, Res. Solutions was second choice. Price was ok. Workers were courteous but did smoke on my property, found a few butts and smelled it which I didn't appreciate it but just let it go. Was asked to write a check before we even did a final walk though, there were a few issues and I told him I would rather pay once the issues were resolved. Conversation turned heated. I would have appreciated the opportunity to be a satisfied customer before being asked for payment and then being argued with. A couple weeks later, had bubbling paint. Was told that he would fix it but not liable if it happens again. So much for supposed 5 yr warranty. Overall job was fine, house looks good but wouldn't want to deal with them again.

I didn't use their service due their price (they cost twice as much as the contractor I eventually went with) and the fact that they couldn't start my job for at least a month. I almost got the impression they didn't want my business. I found a local contractor who is actually a school teacher who does home repairs and services on the side. Name of his company is "Another Hand." This man did a great job and charged a very reasonable price. I found him through a local senior citizen publication called "Best of Times". I really didn't need to use Angie's List at all.

The overall experience was really a quality one, although it did end up being more expensive than we originally expected (this was due to discovery of additional deterioration of siding that was not initially visible during the original quote, not due to an up-charge) The crew, led by Adrian, did an excellent job of repairing our siding and wood root issues, and an even better job with the painting on our two story home. After a couple days, we noticed some cracks in the paint running between the separate sheets of siding, so we called Residential Solutions, and they came out to look at it, and fixed the issue to the best of their ability, both to our satisfaction and at no extra charge.
Description of Work: We were needing just standard painting done on our nearly 20 year old home, with some replacement wood rot repair performed as well.

Short Version: Tile was installed incorrectly, was very poorly done and specific requests to install metal trim were ignored. When I requested him to fix the poor work his installer performed, he said he would do the work to replace it but would not pay for the tile replacement and subsequently pulled his crew off the job. They also spilled primer in the mulch of a tree in my yard, poisoning the tree and denied it was his fault. Would never use this contractor again. Long Version: We hired Residential Solutions to do work on our fireplace. It was currently stained and we wanted it painted white to match the trim and to have the current tile removed and replaced with tile we had purchased. Residential Solutions was not the lowest bid, but we went with them based on their availability to do the job. The quote for the job included everything except the tile and grout, which we had purchased on our own. Leading up to the job Craig had kept us in the loop on when he thought he'd be able to do the job; he wasn't able to give us a definitive date more than a week or so out. When they started the job, their plan was to tear out the tile, do a coat of primer, install the tile and grout, and then put a finishing coat or two of paint on. The tear out and primer portions went fine, where we ran into issues is when they did the tile installation. The tile we had purchased was 1"x4" mesh backed travertine stone tile arranged in a herringbone pattern. Given that this was a fireplace and a focal point of the room, we wanted something that looked really good, thus going with a herringbone pattern. When the installer went to do the installation of the tile, he rotated every other horizontal tile 180 degrees, breaking the herringbone pattern. I have no idea why he did this, and he never explained why he decided to install it this way. All he had to do was take each tile out of the box and install them next to each other, but for some reason he wanted to do it differently. The end result is that we had herringbone tile not installed in a herringbone pattern. We had also specifically asked them to install a piece of metal trim around the firebox. This sits under the tile and wraps around the edge giving a clean line around the firebox instead of rough edges of tile or a line of grout. His installer instead decided he wasn't going to do that, laid all the tile without the edging installed and said he was going to edge around the firebox with just a line of grout smoothed with his finger. We specifically asked for this to be installed and the installer flat out didn't do it. There were a few other issues with the tile installation. We had several boxes of tile, and his installer didn't pull from various boxes, he pulled from each box in order. This had the side effect of one half of the tile surround with mostly solid tile and the other half with mixed tone tile. Any good tile installer would pull from various boxes so that you don't end up with the same tiles installed close together. His installer also told us he was going to install 1/4 round edging on the edges of the tile because he didn't want to cut smaller pieces. We did not have 1/4 round there before, and this was a clear case of short cutting on the job. The tile installation towards the end was very sloppy as well, with several tiles literally butted up against each other and not gapped properly for grout. Finally, he didn't start the tile layout from the top center of the fireplace, instead starting from one of the corners. This left an uneven pattern on either end. If these had been the only issues with the tile, I probably could have let it be. But the fact that the basic requirement of a herringbone pattern was not done correctly, I wanted them to fix it and do it right. When I brought the issue of the pattern up with Craig, he stated that we didn't specifically tell him that we wanted out tile installed in a particular way and that we had approved the work his installer had done (which was untrue). There is only one way to install herringbone tile. The tile is already in a herringbone pattern on the mesh, all you have to do is continue the pattern that is already on there by installing each tile next in the same position. He stated he wasn't a "herringbone expert" and that he couldn't see what the big deal was. He also questioned whether or not we told them about the trim piece, and we had specifically told Craig the week before as well as the installer the day before; the piece was sitting unused in the room, I have no idea why he didn't use it. After I demonstrated to Craig what his installer had done wrong (and his continued assertion that he wasn't a "herringbone expert") he agreed to do the work to fix the poor installation. At this point I asked him if he wanted to get the tile himself or if he wanted to reimburse me. He then stated that he wasn't going to pay for the tile, and pulled his crew off the job, leaving me with a half completed job and out $600 worth of tile. I was floored at the lack of customer service and willingness to fix their botched installation. On top of this, about a week after we noticed that an autumn blaze maple tree in our front yard had completely turned red, which is not normal in the end of July. I found that the dirt/mulch under the tree looked like it had been scuffed up, and could see traces of paint in the mulch, as well as a dead spot in the grass nearby. Digging under the mulch I found probably a pint of primer spilled in it. Instead of telling us that they had spilled primer in the mulch allowing us to clean it up (or cleaning it up themselves) they decided to bury it in the dirt and mulch, poisoning the tree. We're not sure if it will come back or not. When I brought this up with Craig via email, he stated they only spilled a few drops and that the issue with the tree was simply coincidental. It was not. They also killed several spots of grass in the lawn from spilling paint and primer. Craig's response here will be something to the effect of "it will state exactly how you act in front of your family and the neighbors running out of your house screaming like a crazy person" as that's what he responded when I informed him my review would include what he did to the tree. Our discussion up to the point of him pulling his crew out was cordial. Once he pulled his crew off the job I was ****** and let him know as much. No payment for services was made, he pulled his crew out and the work was not completed. I ended up hiring one of the other bidders to fix the work that Residential Solutions botched. I should have looked elsewhere in the first place.

It is unfortunate this job ended up not getting finished. This is the first job we were not able to complete due to our inability to work with the customer. I have never seen someone act so unprofessional towards a company they hired to do work for them. The way he handled himself in front of his kids and family was embarrassing. I have two young kids and I can't imagine them seeing me act like that towards someone I hired for a job at my house. We tried to comply with [Member Name Removed]'s request, but there was no reasoning with him. His wife approved everything we did step for step before the tile was laid. There is nothing else we could of done to prevent this. I offered to redue the tile at no additional charge. He was unwilling to provide new tile, even after his wife had approved the layout. Hopefully, this is the last job we have to leave the site on, to avoid craziness. I was happy to take a loss on material and labor to avoid spending another minute listening to disrespect and craziness.

Washed and re-stained our wood deck. It's about a medium sized deck. I thought the price was a bit too high. I asked them to hammer in some nails that were sticking up out of the wood, and were easily tripped over, but they didn't do it. When I called them back and told them that they did not hammer in all the popped up nails, they told me they would be back out to do it, but they never came back, even though the nails were included in their bid. They had also given me a bid to fix some wood rot, and do some repainting, which i agreed to, and asked them to do, but they never came back to do the wood rot and painting either.

Arrived punctually to review job and provide estimate; scheduled work fairly quickly; completed work as scheduled. Work was done professionally and completely to satisfaction -- lots of attention to detail and did a beautiful job. Cleaned up site as work was completed. Craig Anderson (owner) was on site to check progress and to review final work. Because I chose a stain color that was too light and didn't cover adequately, he suggested a second coat and gave a very fair price for the recoating. Turned out very nicely in spite of my error in choosing stain. Have gotten lots of compliments on the job from friends and neighbors.
Description of Work: Power washed, replaced several dry-rotted timbers on front of house with rough cedar; repaired some stucco, prepared, caulked and painted front of house (rest of home has steel siding); power-washed and stained wood privacy fence. (Note: fence required a second staining because I made an error in selection of stain color.)

If all you care about is price, Residential Solutions is definitely the best price around. We actually interviewed ~5 contractors for the job and Residential Solutions came in at almost 2/3-1/2 price compared to the next best offer. I do not think you will find a better bid for wood rot work. The problem area was quality and attention to detail. After the initial visit a few items on the list of jobs to do were missed (and it wasn't like they were hiding) and several of the jobs done were of poor quality (missing proper caulking, a replaced piece of trim in a rather hidden location not painted, etc.). If it weren't for the price that would be a major deal breaker. However, doing a walkthrough with them I pointed out all the issues I found which they did correct. I did find one more missing bit of caulk after the fact but I can fix that pretty quickly. I did find it off-putting that they seemed to think they would get full payment before correcting the problems (which I did withhold quite a bit from the final price until corrected). They were pushing my wife to pay with a promise of finishing the job and she had to call me to get them to stop. Bottom line is, if you have a good eye and can find their mistakes and missed items the price is unbeatable and when problems are corrected the finished product is pretty good. If that is too much of a hassle for you, then pony up an extra 75% ($1000+ on this small job) or so for better quality work.
Description of Work: Mainly wood rot repair. Replaced siding sheet, replaced garage trim, replaced several other rotted trim boards, painted, caulked, evaluated and touched up some bowing siding, added trim boards to back door, painted bit of concrete foundation.

Coby Feris was really fantastic to work with, very responsive and honest and thoughtful. I received a number of bids on my deck ... all of the other contractors were trying to convince me to tear out a few areas so they could rebuild ... giving me estimates in the $3,000-$3,500 range. Coby was honest, and shared that he could simply tighten all the screws and make minimal repairs where the deck would be sturdy, sound and wouldn't need a full overhaul ... ultimately only $1,150 - a fraction of the price. He came out with the crew and they were quick, efficient. The deck looks like a dream. Thanks Coby - I am grateful for your honesty and great work! I will recommend you to others!

My house had many areas of wood rot. Coby and his team expertly repaired all areas, powerwashed and painted my full exterior. The work was quality. I was pleased enough to hire him again six months later to repair, wash and paint my deck! Also after an initial miscommunication (i was traveling so we had to do everything over the phone), Coby was quick to make it up to me so I left the job a happy (and return!) customer.

This was a late season job, so depended on the weather. Craig got his crew in to do the work during a warm spell around Thanksgiving. They were quick and look to have done a good job, both with the wood rot repair and the painting. On reviews, I only give excellent if a project is something over and above good. Hard to do this for this type of work. So this might be an A in other people's ratings, just not sure how others rate.

The project went exceptionally well. Craig Anderson provided an estimate the day after I called and accommodated my schedule, which required work completion within 6 weeks to meet my employer's relocation reimbursement deadline. His power wash did a great job of stripping the wood, and he worked with me to ensure we got the right color and quality of stain over the following week. He finished the job while I was at work, I came home and saw that it was just what I wanted, and I left him a check for his pickup the following morning. The price was very fair and lower than his competitors, and I can't imagine anyone doing a better job. I highly recommend Craig and his team.

Dealt with Craig throughout the process and was a pleasure to deal with! He kept in touch throughout the entire process and followed up afterwards to make sure everything was done to my expectations. The crew of three who came to do the work was great as well! I had significant wood rot on the front of the house and now my house essentially looks brand new. Their attention to detail was evident throughout the entire process and took about a week; as promised. The painting they did was just as good as the wood rot repair and was extremely pleased with the finished product. I would definitely recommend Residential Solutions!

Did a great job. We were given an initial bid with the understanding as the work was being done more damage may be found raising the final cost of the job. We were comfortable with this since it was stated up front before the job was started. The final price did go over initial estimate, but we were consulted each step of the way, shown damage, given approximate price for repair, and they got our approval before proceeding. I felt this company was very honest, thorough, and wanted us to be pleased with the finished product which we were. They started and finished the job in one week with a crew of four men who worked tirelessly during days of 90+ degrees. Everyone one was very polite, professional, and we were really pleased with the results.

Called three different Angie`s list companies for estimates to stain deck. Received estimates from all three and chose Residential Solutions as the company to do work. Craig was prompt to respond to do bid, and was professional and friendly during process. Chose them because he knew what we wanted and was able to meet our needs. They were also less expensive which was good. Set a time frame to get job done, which was delayed some due to weather. This was understandable and not a problem. I was contacted day before for power washing, and the guy showed next day and did the job. When he was done, the deck looked like new. I was called again to schedule staining. Stain guys showed on schedule two days later, after deck had chance to completely dry out. The guys repaired a few areas needed which were to screw down a few boards, but they also went around deck and fixed nail pops. That was unexpected, but a good attention to detail. Guys worked fast and efficiently and when done, the deck looked great. Overall experience was very good and I would use this company again.
