Paul is a little loose about dates, but when he started the job, he and his assistant worked everyday until it was completed. The finished product appears flawless, and the property was cleaned up completely. Overall I would rate his work as very professional and of a quality nature.

He was fine. The price was reasonable. He did a good job, cleaned up and showed up the new logs, everything went well. He basically, do the cleaning and maintenance of the fireplace and he was good. Actually, he went ahead and ordered the logs and allowed us to pay after he get it in. It all worked well.

I guess I am not the only one that had this problem. He also said to me he would come by after work to give me an estimate. He never showed up. I called and asked, "where are you?". He asked who I was again and then, and only then, said I was out of his work area. Never called to cancel with me.

Paul does quality work and arrives when he says he will. His other workers are as professional as Paul. He is a very hard worker (worked on July 4th) and knows what he is doing. He gave us other ideas to keep water away than other estimaters. All debris was hauled away and the job site was always left clean. I would highly recommend Paul.

Work was not performed by this provider.
Description of Work: Spoke with Mr. Hopkins on 06/12/13 when he responded to my initial contact. At that time he indicated he would plan on coming by my home on 06/19/13 to give me an estimate on brick masonry repair work, however, he never showed up or called. I don't know if this was an oversight on his part, therefore I can not recommend him either way.

I received a call back for an estimate the day after I called. This was no problem, but he said he would come by after work to give me an estimate. He never showed up, no estimate was left in my door, no phone call. I will not call again.

Paul came out and looked at the chimney and let me know what needed done and gave me an estimate. Then he came back out with another gentleman and got everything repaired within one day. Both men were very professional and on time. They cleaned up almost everything as well.

It went great. You can't even tell that repairs were made because the repair work matched the original so well.

Paul A. Hopkins didn't do that great of a job. He didn't come back with my billing receipt. The work that Paul A. Hopkins did was adequate. When I asked for receipts and total accounting of the money for the things he bought, I didn't get anything. He didn't follow through.

We asked them to completely pull up a brick walkway and old limestone steps and reset. They did a great job, and were ver consciencious about debris and mess (we were on a large home tour only days later). WOULD DEFINATELY RECOMMEND.

I got Paul's name from Angie's List and called him on a Tues. about a leak in my fireplace/chimney. He came out the next day and gave me an estimate. He came back 2 days later and did the work. It looks really good and he made an extra effort to get the work done promptly before I went out of town. I would definitely hire him again.

Paul was straightforward about the cost of the job. With close conversations it was easy to understand what was and wasn't included. As the scope of the project grew (at my behest), he was fair on the pricing for the additional work. As soon as the weather got nice, he got started and proceeded quickly. Unfortunately, about halfway through the job, KC received several large snowfalls which halted progress. Paul was careful to button things up as best as could be done to ensure no water intrusion during the delay. As soon as the weather warmed, Paul & crew got back on the job and completed it quickly. I found Paul easy to work with, cheerful, and diligent. The quality of the work was very good. I am very happy with the result.
Description of Work: Paul & crew pulled down and put back up about half of my brick fascia which dates from 1928 when the house was constructed. They reused the existing bricks and reinstalled them using the same original detail (very nice!) Where they had to, they mixed in new bricks. They were very careful about the placement of the new bricks. Location on the new bricks can only be found with close inspection. They were careful to use mortar which matched existing (kind of a purple mortar). Much of the rest of the brick was tuck pointed. They installed a new cement/mortar drip cap on the top of the brick. They also coated the interior of three window wells with cement.

Presented a realistic estimate of work to be performed, including time to completion. Every aspect was professional, personable and straight forward. Repairers took pains to be as inobtrusive as possible. The workers also cleaned up thoroughly afterward. Results look good.

We had sustained some serious damage to a pair of brick arches on our front porch as a result of the foundation shifting. Also, both of our chimneys were in need of pointing up. Paul rebuilt both arches, reusing the existing bricks were possible, and repaired some of the adjoining stucco walls. Also, he re-pointed both chimneys and a few miscellaneous areas on exterior walls. The work was top-notch, done on time and for the quoted price. We will definitely call Paul if we have need of more masonry work in the future.

Showed up when he said he would and did exactly what he said he would do and more for the price he said he would do it for. I didn't think the caps were included in the price and expected to pay more, but even when he found out I didn't think they were included, he told me they were included in the estimate he gave me. From the moment of the estimate, which was free, he seemed interested in doing what I wanted done. Another company, which I paid $149 to, seemed more interested in selling liners than fixing the exterior of the chimney. If you need your hand held, this may not be the company for you though. There was no written estimate. Things were done the old fashioned way. He called, gave me the estimate orally, answered my questions over the phone, showed up on a Sunday and got the job done right and right away. Got more than I expected.

I called for an estimate. He called back the same day and I had an estimate in 2 days. He started the job by the next week and the work was completed on the 3rd day. The workmanship is perfect and the site was left immaculate. The surrounding yard and house were not disturbed. His price is higher than most, but you get what you pay for.

Paul responded to my request for an estimate quickly, and scheduled the work within one week of giving him the go-ahead. Between the visit for the estimate and the date to start the work, I altered my plans for the planter, making it much larger than originally planned. On the morning Paul started the project, Paul worked with me on the design changes, we agreed on the new price, and he and his assistant started the work. The second day, Paul had a crew of four working with him, and after the crew left, Paul worked until dark laying brick. The project basically took three days, with just detail work and clean-up on a fourth day. Paul's experience came in handy when addressing issues such as drainage from the planter, and his design ideas in laying the brick were great. The cost of the project was expensive, but competitive and worth it. I couldn't be more pleased with Paul's work, and would recommend him in a heartbeat.
Description of Work: I had a front concrete step that was in bad shape, and had Paul encase this with brick pavers. He also covered the landing and a sidewalk leading from the driveway to the landing. In addition, he constructed a large L-shaped brick planter around the landing.
