Did a great job!

Painting Innovations did an outstanding job on our home. Our first challenge was to find the right look for the large amount of wood trim that we had invested in. Dave was very patient with us in providing sample finishes to us. For our part my wife and I ran around to the houses of several friends to compare our samples with their woodwork in an effort for us to envision how our stain would look when applied to a large area. We wanted a durable finish so Dave suggested what I believe he called precatalized laqeur which is resistant to water damage and much harder than other laqeur. We had a variety of woods used in our trim including soft maple, birch, pine, and walnut and we wanted to make sure that the contrast between the various types of wood would be pleasant rather than distracting. After much discussion we decided on a multiple step staining process that would allow us more control in the final appearance. After sanding, the wood was conditioned to improve uniformity prior to staining. After staining the trim was then sealed with at least one coat of laqeur. Then, after a light sanding, a glaze was brushed on and manipulated to get the desired effect. Since the glaze could be easily wiped off of the previously laquered surface (as long as it had not yet been sprayed with laqeur itself) this allowed both ourselves and the crew a low risk opportunity to see how large areas of stain would look in our home. We quickly arrived at a glazed look that we loved using Dave's suggested technique. For additional interest, some special areas like rope moldings, flutes and cabinet door edges got a dry brush applied accent that adds depth and character. The final coats of laqeur melted all of the glaze into the stain for a beautiful look that is also highly durable . After finishing the stained trim, Dave's crew painted the walls and ceiliings and then solved our problem with our exterior door. The door was painted steel surrounded by beautiful wood trim. Dave's crew expertly faux finished the steel to match the wood trim. Amazing. All crew members have been with Dave for years. Everyone is pleasant and all can be trusted in your home. Dave started with a crew of two men to pressure wash and begin caulking. Meanwhile Dave helped my wife and I with color selections, even going so far as to provide color decks for my wife to peruse. Color samples were placed on the stucco while the caulking, masking. and protection of surfaces continued. The smaller crew at the start helped us have time to get comfortable on the color selections before the crew size grew to 4 men during the actual painting. Dave's experience in knowing how colors will look on differect textures like stucco, wood and metal garage doors was particularly helpful. All members of the crew were not only skilled and highly qualified to do the work but they were pleasant to have around the house. My wife felt safe with all members of the crew. Amazingly the crew members did not leave any trash from lunches, drinks, etc. when they left each day. There was not any overspray on our decks or even on the mulch beds around the house. At Dave's suggestion, a large portion of the front of the house was hand painted in order to protect the landscaping around the adjacent koi pond. Dave coordinated the work so that he could return to paint our late arriving replacement garage doors and even suggested the accent color which we love. This is the second large project that Painting Innovations has done for us and we are very happy with their work. I am particularly impressed with Dave's decision to keep the size of his company stable so that he can employ only skilled painters that he has known for a long time. Every member of Dave's team has been great.

The crew and supervisor arrived early in the morning and promptly began work. The supervisor double checked with us about the services they were to perform and gave instruction to his crew. The two man crew worked steadily all three days, and arrived promptly on time both in the morning and when returning from their lunch break. They cleaned up debris from wood rot replacement and swept up the patio each night before they left as. Both the crew and the supervisor were very friendly and professional and took time to answer our questions and concerns. We would definately use them again and will refer them to our neighbors when they are looking for painters.

We found out about Painting Innovations earlier in the year when they were offering another Big Deal. We had obtained a quote for the exterior painting then, but wanted to wait a while. We had just bought our house and wanted to see what all other work we might need to do before we put a few thousand into painting the exterior. It didn't need to be painted, but we hated the color it had previously been painted. The company offered another big deal, and we felt like it was one we couldn't pass up. Brad came out again to do another bid. We had gotten a paint consultation in the interim and had a few more colors than the deal would cover, so we wanted to know what the new bid would be. Before we purchased the big deal, we even got another quote to ensure we were getting the best deal possible. Even considering the deal we were getting, the other quote was several thousand dollars higher. We went with Brad and couldn't be happier we did. They did an excellent job, and even when we found a couple minor spots that were missed, Brad came out the very next to fix them. We just had a roofer check our roof, and he even said how well the painters did. We highly recommend this painting team.

Brad Shaw, Owner, met with me in June to determine total scope of project. There were some additional items which were priced and accepted. Work was scheduled for August. But, my schedule changed and work was rescheduled for mid-September. The week before work commenced, I had the guttering all removed by a gutter contractor so that the facia boards were exposed for painting. Work started first thing the Monday we agreed to, and commenced for the rest of week. One rain day in middle of week. Work completed on Friday of the week started. Two full time workers at the house, one of which was the "foreman" and was easy to talk to and work with. I stopped by house every day to monitor work, talk to workers, and saw Brad a couple of times when he stopped by to check on work and deliver supplies. Preparation before painting was thorough with considerable scraping needed (part of extra work agreed to). Minor repairs were made to garage door brick mold and facia boards. All exposed areas and new materials were primed. Finish painting of body and trim was completed in a timely manner. Overall quality of paint job was good with good coverage everywhere. The next week, new guttering was installed by the gutter contractor. Overall I am very satisfied with the paint job. The price paid through the Angie's List Special saved a considerable amount of money. House looks very nice and renter is very happy. I expect the paint job to last many years and require little maintenance. Brad and his crew were easy to work with and always ready to answer any questions or address any concerns I had. I would definitely use them again.

Brad came out and did the estimate. He arrived on time, explained the process, and answered any questions that I had. Once our project began, either Brad or David came by every day to make sure everything was going well and that things were on schedule. Our crew was, I believe, Thomas and William. They were here on time every day and they worked hard while they were here. The entire week they were working the heat was unbearable, but they showed up and did their job every day. They were both so pleasant and professional and never got irritated when I had questions! If they weren't sure of the answer, they would call Brad or David and get the answer - which I really appreciated. At the end of every day they cleaned up the work area and let me know what time they'd be back the next morning. They were very neat and careful - they did what they could to avoid getting overspray everywhere and they also were mindful of our landscape so as not to tear it up or break our plants. When they were finished they picked up all of their equipment then went around and made sure they got everything cleaned up before they left. From beginning to end the project took four days and our house looks WONDERFUL! We are so pleased with Painting Innovations and the guys that painted our house. We've had lots of compliments on how good it looks. We would definitely use these guys again in the future!

Called Brad a week prior to sept 11th. We decided to go with him and got a quote the next day. It was a very fair quote. I had some of my own paint and also wanted to complete some of the project myself to save money. He was very accommodating to this and took the time to adjust his quote accordingly. He set up the appointment just a few days later and completed it in just 2 days! When I drive through my neighborhood I see other houses getting painted and it goes on for days. I also do not see anyone working on it all day, just part of the day I realize this is a common practice to maximize your crew. These guys worked on it all day both days to get the job done. This is in spite of the fact that they had much bigger jobs than mine going on at the time(I know this because I talked to him about his business). He even replaced or fixed some rotting boards at no extra charge and had 2 or 3 gallons of extra paint at the end of the project. All in all the job itself was exemplary! The crew was very nice, left no mess and put everything back that they moved. The whole process from cradle to grave took only a week and it looks fantastic.

Brad and his team did great work. They always showed up when expected, worked efficiently, and completed the job within the quoted time frame (even through a holiday week in July). The team left the job site organized between work-days and they cleaned up completely after the completion of the work. The results look great. Inside, they did everything they could to minimize the disruption to our lives during the job and again did a quality job. Following the original job, I even hired them to come back and remove wall-paper and repaint a formal dining room and hall bathroom in my home. Again, excellent results! Currently planning to move out of state but would highly recommend these guys to anyone looking to have some painting done.

They were very professional and polite. They were on time everyday and gave a full 8 hr of work. I will use them again when I am ready to paint the inside of the house.

The owners were very professional and helpful. All of the painters were courteous and professional as well. I am going to hire them to paint my garage floor and interior.

This was a really good experience. All of the work was performed as promised and on time. They visited the home at the time of scheduling and walked the property. I pointed out special areas of concern, all of which were patched up and repaired at the time of painting. They matched the colors of the house, trim, and door, all of which turned out great. Would definitely recommend Painting Innovations to anyone with a home in need of an exterior paint job.

We found out about an Angie's list deal a day before it was going to expire. We called Brad, at Painting Innovations, to inquire about the extent of the work... we had a fair amount of wood rot, and had no idea what would be involved in having it repaired. He came out the same day, provided us with a detailed, line by line, estimate of the work and it's cost. He very patient, and informative, while describing what would need to be done. They did the work in under a week, and went above and beyond what was laid out in the estimate. First, they power washed our house. Next, carpenters came, replacing wood rot, installing a special base board around the entire perimeter of the house, rebuilding two window frames, and the frames for two attic vents. Then, the entire house was scraped, caulked, and prepped for painting. It all happened very fast, and we are very pleased with the results. One of the days, I came home to be available while they painted our exterior doors. The painters were both very friendly and courteous. When the job was done, everything was cleaned up, all the gutter drains were put back, and Brad took me on a walk around the house in case there were any questions. He even offered to let us know if anything came up within the following days. They came in under the estimate they had given us, despite doing work that was not on the breakdown. They had filled in cracks around our foundation so that the paint looked more consistent, replaced several side boards that were not initially seen as a problem. In the end, I would say that Painting Innovations went above and beyond in making sure we were satisfied with the job, and comfortable with the price. I would highly recommend them.

It went well. The company did a good job. I had to work most of the week, and had planned with them to come out on Tuesday to paint the doors when I could be home. They told me I could shut the doors at 5, which I did. Thursday I noticed some spots on the doors but the company fixed those right up.

They completed the job right at the given estimate. They did a very good job. They kept things clean around my house. They were really responsive when I called.

He was professional. He was prompt in calling me. There was a mixup in the ad for the Big Deal about there being an additional fee per square foot--regarding the surface area vs. the square footage of the home. I don't know if he "googled" it, but he sort of knew what my home looked like and told me that my home looked larger and that it could cost nearly double what the deal purchase was. He was very nice about everything and gave me the option to opt out of the deal. So, I called Angie's List and was refunded.

Brad arrived on time to spec the job and provided an estimate the following day. Once the work was scheduled the crew arrived on time and got to work. William was very polite and a hard worker. The job took 4 days as promised and the guys did a good job of cleaning up at the end of the day. I was very pleased with their work, too. All of the rooms looked great. I would definitely recommend Painting Innovations and will likely call on them again.

The job went pretty well. I was on a real time crunch and I would've liked them to do a little bit more but because of the time crunch there were a couple of things that they couldn’t do.

David and his crew are courteous, reliable, and very punctual. They always clean up at the end of the day, whether the job is finished or not. The work perfomed is of superior quality and we plan to use them again for our next project. We highly recommend David Butcher and "Painting Innovations".

I called him and told him what I wanted, and he took a couple of shutters and once he did a couple of samples, in differing colors of the shade I said I was looking for, he took a couple tries, but finally got a perfect shade, then came and took down all my other shutters that my husband could not reach, took them with him , and brought them back when finished. They look great, look like real wood. I was wanting to re-side my whole house, but with the shutters changed, I don't feel the need to do that now.
