It did not go well. 1. The City Inspectors failed to inspect the front porch structure of my new home. They allowed the builder to 'cover the structure over' prior to any inspection. 2. The City then refused to provide a proper inspection when told of possible Code violations (backed up by an engineer's report and pictures). 3. The City then inspected the structure and found several Code violations but did not then pursue the builder - the guilty party - to repair the issues. The inspectors apologized for not doing their job the first time. 4. The City Mayor's Office refused to do anything - saying, and I quote "I don't care what is right or wrong" about the failed inspection, given that they are covered in their own bylaws from apparent incompetence and negligence. Not sure what then our taxes go to if not to have the City protect our safety when it is exactly their (the Inspector's) job to do so.
