I'll start with the worst part first and go from there. The WORST part was after all the tile was laid and grouted I found out that they did not put any concrete underlayment under the tile so ALL OF MY GROUT IS POPPING OUT and because there is no underlayment they have voided any warranty I had with the tile maker when the tile cracks which it already has. I have been told that eventually my tile will pop out too. The contractor was never on time. When they laid the floor down in my kitchen, dinning room and hallway they mixed two different colors of grout so there was a swirling effect of the two different colors. Then when they re-did the grout with the right color they mixed it wrong and the dark brown grout color I choose had a white tone to it and many tiny bubbles. I had another contractor come out and look at it and he said that something like that could happen if they mixed the grout with too much water. So they had to take all of the grout out and re-grout the whole floor. Then they installed the backsplash and did such a lousy job they ended up having to install it a total of three times. 1st time because the holes they cut out for the accent tile were terribly CROOKED, 2nd time they had a different guy come in and cut straight holes but the original guy came back to grout it and used the wrong grout color, then the final time they installed the back splash it was really not to my satisfaction because the holes for the accent tiles were still a bit crooked but I had had enough by then and wanted my kitchen back. They also left a gaping hole in the back splash where the stone was cut too short and when the light fixture plate went back on the wall there is a two inch long one inch wide hole in the wall. I can't believe they left it that way. In the entry way they picked up the wrong color tile from the vendor and installed it. When they were done they wanted me to pay for them laying the wrong color of tile but I told them that until it was fixed I was not going to pay them for that portion of the job, ($400.00) needless to say I still have the wrong color of tile in my entry way. Last but not least I had shoe molding around the bottom of the walls which they took off and told me that the grout would look so good that I wouldn't need the shoe molding. Well the grout did not look fine and that is where the worst of the cracking is. At least if I had the shoe molding I wouldn't have to see gaps with no grout in it. The whole experience was a nightmare from beginning to end! When I was considering this contractor he showed me pictures of "work" he'd done. I highly doubt those pictures were work that his tile setters did because of the terrible job that was done at my house.
Description of Work: New look tile replaced my backsplash in the kitchen, tiled the fireplace surround, tiled the front entryway, and tiled the kitchen, dinning room and hall tile. They were a friend of a friend who had never had work done for them but my friend told me that he did great work. NOT!

Response from New Look Tile LLC
This client came through a referral from a friend who has been afflicted with Lyme Disease. This lady, unfortunately, has the same disease. It renders the patient with memory loss, trouble following conversations, and details are very difficult to follow on some days. We are still friends with the lady who referred this client, and have done tile work, concrete work, and roofing for them since this lady with the complaint. Until Sept, 2011, we were unaware of a complaint, at all. This has not been a fair representation for New Look Tile. I recall these issues, and unfortuantely must attest that these accusations are not true, at all. I worked closely with this client, and the tile company that sold product to them. There were numerous changes, and mixed tile purchases that resulted in mixing dye lots, tile types, etc., and neither the tile company, nor our own efforts would prove satisfying. We did use underlayment, as we have never laid tile without it.
