MOUNTAIN CONSTRUCTION

Description of Work: I hired Mountain Construction to replace three exterior doors. I've used Mountain once gefore to build a deck for me. They did a great job on the deck which why I chose them again. Glen from Mountain had us go to Owen's Lumber in Lee's Summit to look through some catalogs and pick out what we liked. We ordered our choices and waited a few weeks for the products to come in. Upon the installation date, everything arrived and Mountain started the work. When we we saw the back doors, we realized the wrong doors had been delivered. And the front door wasn't fitting correctly! Rob from Mountain knew there was a problem and calmly stated "well, we'll just get the right ones and make it right" He shared our dissappointment. Within a few days, I had Manufacturer Reps. calling me apolizing, asking when they could come to correct the mistakes. A few weeks later, the correct ones came in and Mountain had the manufacturer Representative switching out the doors and replacing the front door under Mountain's supervision. Glen kept us informed of the entire process. They showed up when they said they would, they made all the necessary "follow ups" with each vender. They effectively handled everything. This type of service is what separates Mountain from so many other remodeling companies that lack customer service. They just get "it". Glen, Rob and all of Mountain Construction are as professional as it gets. I think the true measure of a company is not when things go smoothly but how things are handled when problems arrise. Description of Work: We are selling our house and have a deck that is showing its age. I called Glenn and he made a trip out to inspect our deck the next day. He was on time, polite and professional. He asked the age of our deck and suggested that due to grandfathering laws, we may not need to build a whole new deck to bring it up to today's codes, but instead may be able to make simple repairs. He suggested we pay for an inspector to inspect our home before we put it on the market, and the inspector would be able to clarify our options so we don't make a $1,000 fix that requires a later $5,000 deck replacement. He also said that getting the inspection as a seller may help us prepare for putting the house on the market and save the buyer the money and trouble. Good advice. Thanks Glenn! We will let you know the results of the inspection.

Description of Work: Asked for a quote to finish basement 300 square feet. Price was very high.
