Miguel Painting

We hired Miguel for exterior painting at our home in April 2021. He seemed very personable and knowledgable during our quote. I asked specific questions about his process and he said all the right things but never actually followed through. (Said he would be using SW Duration paint, but used Superpaint. Said he would sand the metal window trim before painting, but that didn't happen. I asked if the downspouts could be removed prior to painting and they painted around them.) Fast forward to when the crew started painting... there were a TON of people here and while it seemed like a positive, it led to lots of things being overlooked. Also, I feel like there was lots of miscommunication with too many workers and Miguel not being here the majority of the time to keep everyone on the same page. After they "completed" the job there were many spots missed and one entire side of the house was unfinished. He instructed us to make a list and he would send someone back to do touch ups. It took us 4 weeks to get someone to come back and while they did repaint the one side of the house, nothing else on the list was fixed. Once again, I texted and called Miguel continuously about when I could expect these things to be finished and got no reply. I gave him the benefit of doubt until I realized that every single window in my home had been PAINTED SHUT and would not open!! I knew they were operable prior to painting because I was the one that opened them to remove the screens... This is a huge fire hazard and safety issue for my family. I called him again on June 8th and magically he answered... I told him who it was and that I needed him to send someone out ASAP to make my windows operable. He argued with me and told me he was done with our job and there were too many changes (we paid and additional $1500 for these), that he was not coming back and then hung up on me. Wow! How can a person sleep at night knowing they are endangering a family with 3 small children's lives?! Heaven forbid we had a fire, there would be no escaping by windows anywhere. We are currently hiring someone else to do the work he never finished and make our home safe again. We have also disputed the charges with our bank and they are working to get our money back. Hopefully this review reaches other families and can save them the headache of dealing with a situation like this.

Miguel Lopez- Miguel Painting in Overland Park, Kansas. Began interior painting job. Left his crew here for another job so was unable to complete the job. Decided he wanted to make more money somewhere else after we had paid him. Left without finishing the job and took our money. Very unprofessional. He is a crook and a cheat!!
