Techs were great and professional. Quick to complete the diagnosis. The cost of the repair part was $180 and available on Amazon for $60.

Extremely well. Employee came out, was on time, ver neat, made sure there were no leaks, readjusted the gas logs, did some minor touch up work like repaining the inside of the fireplace. I was very pleased.

Pricing was better than the Lawrence, KS competitor. Responsive to all questions, concerns and the only minor issues I had were resolved within 24 hours. Dan even offered to come out on a Sunday to resolve one of the issues we had.

The installation went quickly and efficiently. When it was finished and I had a chance to sit down and look at it, there was a large gap at the bottom. The technician came out the next day and fabricated the solution on the spot and it looks great. They wanted to be sure we were happy with their product which we are!

Our gas fireplace hadn't worked in years. Called a fireplace provider who recommended KC Gas Fireplace Service. The next day the repairman Dan came to our house. Spent one hour fixing the fan, blower and bolting the fireplace to the floor. Also cleaned out the pilot light line and provided new pretty embers. Fireplace is now working great and we were able to enjoy it! Should have called years ago! Thank you!

Dan was great to work with. Highly recommend him. Quoted a cost and stuck to it. No up selling in additional items. They took the time to clean the glass and out 12yr old fireplace looks great again. Total visit was about 25 minutes!

ere's our story: we were having problems with our gas fireplace--the gas was running too strong, leading to a large 'poof' of fire upon lighting it (it was almost singe-your-eyebrows worthy), and also leading to us being able to smell gas even as the fire was burning. I searched Angie's List for a company who did fireplace repair, hoping to find one that could check our gas line and the inside of our fireplace. I caution you to make sure you know what your fireplace repair company actually does when you call them. Most listed companies deal with chimneys. Very few deal with gas logs or the interior of your gas fireplace. You could end up paying a service charge (sometimes a very high one) for a company to come to your house and THEN tell you that they don't do what you need. Or, you could end up with exactly the right company, like we did with KC Gas Fireplace. I called three different companies from Angie's List. KC Gas Fireplace was the third I called, and I'm SO glad that I did. They were responsive, they charged a reasonable fee to come out--and their fee included labor, no matter what was wrong with the fireplace or how long the call would end up taking. Unlike the other companies, this company focuses on the inside of your fireplace -- the gas line, the connections, the gas logs, and the embers. They came out on time, and they adjusted the gas line--a coupling had been loose, allowing too much gas to escape. They then cleaned all of our logs and arranged them more efficiently. John arranged the logs a few times until we liked the way they looked. He was patient with us and friendly. Finally, he offered for a low price to come back with embers and lava rock. We took him up on it, but he made it clear that our fireplace was in fine condition even if we didn't take him up on that offer. By way of warning, the first two companies I called were prominently listed under "fireplace repair" and had a lot of reviews on Angie's list. One wanted $300 just to come to the house--their plan was to take photos and video of my chimney (outside and inside) and roof flashing, etc. I told them that the problem was not the chimney. I already knew that the problem was the gas line, but they insisted that their service call would be to check the chimney. Then, if there was a gas line problem, they told me they "might" be able to fix it, but that parts and labor would cost extra. Well, I knew there would be a gas line problem, so I tallied up even more costs on top of their $300 charge for visit and to take photos of my chimney, and I said no thank you. When I called the second company, the person answering the phone was in her backyard with her grandkids. She didn't know at all if they could deal with a gas line, but she still wanted me to schedule a $79 "visual inspection" or an $120 "video inspection." Again they were talking about my chimney. NOT the gas logs or inside of my fireplace. Again I said no thank you. I was about to give up, when buried in the listings I found KC Gas Fireplace--as I said above, they were JUST what I needed. I couldn't recommend KC Gas Fireplace more highly for their price, their service, and their responsiveness.
