The most impressive things about KC Deck and Patio is their knowledge of deck building, attention to detail and ability to solve unforseen complex problems, while being extremely fair in price. They treated the project as if it was their own. Knowledge of deck building: They accomplished things the other large deck builders said couldn't be done. They located the staircase where we wanted it. The other deck builders said they couldn't tie the staircase in to the existing gazeebo. Matt and Chase spent several hours making precise calculations to arrive at how they would accomplish it and then met with the inspector to have it approved in advance. Attention to detail: They clipped the corners of the upper and lower decks to make it feel like the decks belonged with the octagon shaped gazeebo. They built the decking of the upper deck in three separate 45 degree sections outlined in a double band. They put runners on the stairs because it just wouldn't have looked right to see through the staircase. They had great pride in the quality of their work. Ability to solve unforseen complex problems When Chase called to let me know that the 22 year old gazeebo had settled several inches on the southeast corner of the house, I thought the gazeebo would have to be torn down. However, he had already met with the inspector at the house and had determined how he could save it and continue with the original design. The bonus was that he was extremely fair with the price of the change order. I was extremely impressed with all phases of the project. Chase and Matt spent several hours at our house in the design stage taking precise measurements to be sure that they could do what they were about to promise. During construction, the property was very clean and organized. They showed up when they said they would. They took extra time to ensure the highest quality. Matt was on the job site 100% of the time that work was going on. My wife and I couldn't be happier with the result. I've never worked with contractors as great as Chase and Matt. They are knowledgable, hard working contractors who do what they say and stand by their work. Their attention to detail and pride in their work is amazing. Chase has put videos and pictures of the project on his website, so I'm not uploading any pictures here.
Description of Work: KC Deck and Patio tore down three 22 year old existing wood decks and rebuilt them with Evergrain composite decking and rail systems. They gutted the existing two story gazebo, leveled and resupported the structure and tied the new upper deck into the upper gazebo structure and the new staircase into the lower gazebo. Both levels of the gazebo received all new decking and railings. The upper gazebo was screened in. The main deck is a 26' x 14' structure 12' off the ground. The lower deck is a 16' x 16' low profile deck. The martini deck is a 8' x 4' structure 14' off the ground.
