Description of Work: AC wasn't working, contacted Angie's List recommended service. Technician assessed problem said he needed to clean the outside unit, performed service for $500. AC worked for 2 weeks then quit. Service sent technician "no charge" who said he needed to clean INSIDE unit for $300. I told him to get OUT. Would have purchased NEW AC IF informed current unit needed $800 in service. I was NEVER asked how old the unit is - it is 7 years old. This is the 2nd Angie recommended HVAC provider who failed. I have discontinued Angie membership

Description of Work: Worker tried to replace motor to AC condenser outside but hooked it up backwards and sent a huge surge backwards, ruining other parts and tried to charge me for them. Went through four additional motors and was charged a ridiculous amount for everything. Worker then lied about damage he caused. Sloppy job, had to send other technicians to repair his damage but damage he caused is still present.

Description of Work: "Service came out charges 79 service call plus 139 diagnostic work and then gave me 2000 bill to fix old system. I asked him to add Freon and he refused. So had to call another company. | |Service man very argumentative and his boss I talked to supported his service man. So will I call him again. NO."

Description of Work: Repaired broken connection in water line to bathroom lavatory. Installed 2 shutoff valves. Service was fast and there were no problems, although I thought the price was pretty steep. They wanted something like $400 to install the shutoffs, and I refused them. Finally, for whateber reason, they threw them in the deal. Even with that it was close to $500 just to have two water line connections fixed. This wasn't a problem I could tackle myself, as the water lines are that cursed polybutylene, and take special compression clamps the average homeowner can't get.
