Geek Squad - Best Buy

OK - on time, price quoted was what I paid.

I will not use them again. I feel they charged $99.99 to my 80 year old brother-in-law and provided no service. He got a new internet/cable service and then could not get the internet to work on his computer. I called Geek Squad and explained the issue and set the appointment for him. They asked what kind of computer it was. The day before the appointment, I spoke to the main office at 800-433-5778 and asked if the technician would have everything on his truck so no return trip would be needed. They assured me they would. However, they did not. The tech hooked up his own keyboard and everything worked fine. The tech said the keyboard was non functional and he recommended one with a cord as opposed to a wireless. He said he did not have any available to sell nor did he offer any assistance in placing an order for the appropriate keyboard. He did not offer any specifications on the kind of keyboard to purchase nor any instructions as to how to hook it up when he gets one. The tech then charged $99.99 and said that as soon as my bother-in-law gets an appropriate keyboard, he will be on the internet. I called back to the main office and they said they did get the internet hooked up and that for $99.99, they would come back and hook up a keyboard. This used to be called "bait and switch" and it amounts to theft of money from a trusting senior citizen.

Fine, all issues resolved

They worked on it for over an hour, could not fix it. No charge.

Outstanding. Two visits, different technicians. Coming from the service industry I look at how others provide customer service. Definite A+ here with both visits. They are for now my go-to technicians for electronics. Polite, called ahead, immediately put shoe covers on upon entering the house, e-mailed report, consistently checking to ensure they were meeting my expectations. The only reason I scheduled the initial visit was because I was desperate to have it up and running by Christmas after the original company cancelled. Called on Thursday afternoon and the rep apologized that they couldn't come out that day; however, could come out on Saturday. The other company I worked with needed over a month's notice, Saturday was out of the question, and evenings would have caused them to laugh. Found my new geek squad.

Very good service and tech. Knew what to do and did very fast and correct. Did not try to sell more than I had requested only advised me of other options to improve my system

I would think twice before using Geek Squad to install you car stereo even if you buy it from Best Buy. Installation is supposed to take about an hour and my installation took about 1 1/2 - 2 hours. Also the technician broke a control on my A/C which requires that the entire $400 control unit to replaced in the vehicle. They said that they would have to submit a claim to their insurance company before the part could be ordered from the manufacturer. I wish I would have just lived with the factory stereo rather than go through this.

Best Buy/Geek Squad are readily accessible. They were a little slow, but they knew what they were doing. They took care of what I needed.

They have always managed to fix anything I need them to fix. I have had them out probably seven times over the years. I have a lot of electronics equipment. The last time they came out it cost $199.00 for them to work on my tv and computer. He wasn't here that long so I thought the price was a little high. They carry many brands so the products are usually good.

I was very happy that they took it out of the box and assembled it for me. Another appliance store wouldn't even do that for me. I was very pleased with the entire experience. They helped me all along the way and their customer service is wonderful.

They came out and looked at my computer. They got everything back up and running by clearing out and reloading my hard drive. Agent Patel added new software including anti-virus software. I had a number of problems and had to call them back several times. He was very slow to respond. A month later I called the main headquarters and they sent out a new agent that got everything working properly. The second agent had to come out one more time to install the printer software properly. Every additional time I had someone out it was free of charge, but it took over a month to get every thing back up and running.

After comparing prices and consulting Consumer Reports, I found Best Buy's (sale) prices better than the competition. Purchasing was very easy and I was very impressed with the ease of delivery and the haul away of my old items. The stove had a small dent on the back, but I was told I could either accept delivery and wait for a new one -- or keep it and take an $85. gift card.

Joel Campos was the installer they sent. It was the best service experience i ever had in my home because of the him. He did an outstanding job and i was very pleased with the work. He spent about 10 minutes just opening and closing the door to get it level with my non-level kitchen counter. I've never had any service person give such great care to the job and wanting to do it correctly as this man did. I went back to the store and told the manager how pleased I was.

PRICE WAS FINE, BUT DISAPPOINTED BY THEIR SAME AS CASH PROGRAM. POST-MARKED PAYMENT 3 DAYS BEFORE DUE, THEY RECEIVED AFTER DUE DATE AND CHARGED AN EXTRA $30.00. WE'LL BUY ELSE WHERE AFTER THEY REFUSED TO CREDIT BACK THE $30.00.

INSTALLER WAS VERY THOROUGH AND DID NICE WORK. MY SON COMMENTED 'HE DID A BETTER JOB THAN THE PREVIOUS INSTALLER.' WHEN MY SON COMMENTED ON THE WORK, THE INSTALLER SAID, 'I WORK IN PEOPLE'S HOMES AS HOW I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE WORK DONE.'

SALES REP WAS KNOWLEDGEABLE BUT NOT PUSHY - NO COMMISSION. WAS HELPFUL IN POINTING OUT FEATURES OF SALE ITEMS. CONTACT WITH INSTALLER WAS PLEASANT AND QUICK.

THEY REPAIRED MY COMPUTER. THEY DID A GREAT JOB.

BEST BUY WAS VERY BUSY THE DAY WE PURCHASED THE FREEZER. THE LINES WERE LONG. HOWEVER, WE WERE ABLE TO PURCHASE THE FREEZER BACK IN THE APPLIANCE SECTION OF THE STORE, SO WE DID NOT HAVE TO STAND IN THE LONG LINE. WE CHECKED SEVERAL OTHER STORES AND BEST BUY HAD THE BEST PRICE. THE SALESMAN WAS KNOWLEDGEABLE AND BEST BUY OFFERED FREE DELIVERY, (AFTER REBATE).

EVERYTHING WAS DONE VERY WELL AND QUICKLY. THE ONLY PROBLEM WAS THAT THEY DIDN'T RESPOND PROMPTLY TO US WAITING, THEY DIDN'T SEEM LIKE THEY HAD ENOUGH STAFF WORKING.

THEY SALES PERSON WAS VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE AND INFORMATIVE. THERE WAS NO HIGH PRESSURE BECAUSE THEY ARE ON SALARY NOT COMMISSION. WE WERE VERY SATISFIED WITH OVERALL EXPERIENCE.

THE INSTALLER AT BEST BUY INSTALLED IT PRETTY MESSED UP, BUT THE PRICE WAS PRETTY GOOD.

THEY WERE VERY NICE AND INFORMED US ON EVERYTHING.

THE GUY THAT WORKED ON MY RADIO WAS VERY FRIENDLY. PRICE WAS REASONABLE.
