Four Paws Fence

They were great! They called the utility company to come mark the yard. They talked to us about how far away from the horse fence it needed to be. They taught us how to teach our dogs about the fence.

It did not go well. After a rather superficial check of the existing fence, the employee said he could not locate the break(s) and that he would need to come back after we talked to his boss. He left the wires he dug up on the surface and didn't bother to cover them. We then called the company owner and were told that since the breaks could not be located, they had to assume that there were so many breaks that the system could not be repaired. We were told that we had to have a totally new system installed to the tune of $2000! We declined and told him to sent his employee back to bury the exposed wires he had left. We since contacted another reputable company and they were able to find two breaks in the wire within less than an hour! Not only did they repair the breaks for $102 but also noticed that Four Paws had switched out our original DogWatch system (that had a lifetime warranty) a few years ago for their Pet Stop system that has only a limited warranty! We are now back on the Dog Watch system and wonder why Four Paws did not reveal that they had switched brands on us. We are also wondering why they were not able to detect the breaks in the wire!

We made a call to Four Paws Fence to repair a break in our invisible dog fence on June 8, 2015. Our son had been doing some yard work and cut into the fence while my husband was in the hospital for almost three weeks having major brain surgery with myself staying at the hospital with him the entire time except to come home to shower every third day. I got news that our dogs had been roaming the neighborhood while under the care of our 18 year old daughter who was not able to be at home with the dogs much herself while maintaining her job and spending time at the hospital with her dad as well. We decided that the fence needed to be repaired as soon as possible, yet my daughter, myself nor my husband were not able to be home when the repair was made so my daughters boyfriend volunteered to monitor the situation. My daughters boyfriend (whom we have known for some time and have always put complete trust in) stood by and watched the entire repair take place, reported to us that the person who did the repairs on the fence made it very clear that there was only ONE break in the fence and then stated to him that because he was able to show him EXACTLY where the break was, he had saved us about $100, because trying to find the location of the break is the most difficult part of the repair. My husband was released from the hospital 1 1/2 weeks prior to receiving a call from the owner on July 6, 2015, threatening to turn us in to a collection agency if we did not pay the bill immediately. When my husband recieved the call from the owner, he had been at home on disability recovering from surgery and trying to maintain all of his doctors appointments along with attempting to become accustomed to his radiations and cancer meds, which my husband explained to him, hoping he would understand why we had not been prompt in paying the bill, yet assuring him that we in deed were good for it, made no difference to the owner at all. My husband attempted to remind the owner that there was only ONE break in the fence and not TWO as the owner was claiming and charging us for, as well, the repairman making it very clear to my daughters boyfriend that he repaired ONLY one break, the owner continued to claim that there were TWO breaks. The owner then claimed that the job took 45 minutes (time he charged us for), when in fact it only took 20 minutes. (Our daughters boyfriend stood beside the repairman the entire time). The owner also charged us for a 43 minute drive to get to our house, while their business address is only 11 minutes driving distance from our house per map quest. We were never informed that the company was unable leave a bill with us for the work done. The owner stated to my husband in his phone call that payment for work done MUST be paid at time of service. We had used this company once before to Reinstall wiring for an existing fence with no issues, however I would not recommend this company to anyone. The owners professionalism was deplorable to say the least.

Provider was able to go over our driveway in multiple spots and go over large tree roots. Provider was very courteous and knowledgeable. The service was performed much quicker than expected. At the end, provider showed me how to train the new boundary to my dog. Provider said they will come back in a week (when I call) to assist in turning on the correction and making it is the correct degree for my dog. All in all, I am 100% satisfied with the services performed.

They were very responsive and professional. I was in the bis gathering process and have not used their service for installation.

Four Paws came out to provide an estimate the day after we called, and they installed our fence the next day. The system has worked great for us. It's definitely worth the money.

They are friendly. Take the time to explain things. Give a very competitive price and cut good deals. They are fast. Conscientious and get it right the first time.

They did a great job installing our electrical fence for our dogs. They not only installed the fence but also sent professional a trainer to make sure the dogs didn't hurt themselves. The line was also cut by a landscaper and they came out to fix the fence and it wasn't even under warranty. I was very impressed with their services. Never dealt with a better company. They handled my dogs with care to make sure they were not harmed.

They are fabulous!!! They’re personable, friendly, and fast. No matter what, they’ve always accommodated my requests same-day! I think they’re an excellent company.

Overall, everything thing has gone well. I did have to have one of my pet’s colliers replaced, and I felt that was a little pricey. However, they’ve given us good, responsive service. We are planning on moving in the near future, and we will probably have them install a fence at our new home.

The owner, Paul, always answers the phone and will perform estimates himself. Work is consistently done in a timely manner, and the final cost will always match their estimates. This is company offers excellence customer service, and working with them is always enjoyable.

I originally hired them to install and underground fence system back in 2000, when building my house out in the country. They fenced in about 1.5 acres for me. No problems then. and eventually the family pets grew old and passed away. I didn't have any dogs for about 2 years, then when I got new puppies in 2011, I was afraid they would go onto the pond in winter and fall through the ice to their deaths. So Four Paws came out again, and re-flagged the buried wire, then spent time with me re-teaching me to teach my dogs to recognize their boundary. Training went well with one of the dogs, but his brother was enticed to break through the fence and chase wildlife. Four Paws came to the rescue again, by upgrading his collar receiver (twice) to a model that worked well for him. All at no charge to me! Their service after the sale is unparalleled, in my opinion.

Paul came to our home the day after our initial contact and provided us with estimates for several fencing packages. My husband and I took a few days to consider our options. When we contacted Paul regarding our decision, he was able to schedule our fence installation for the next day. Installation took about 1/2 a day, including the initial training session. We followed the training instructions, which said it may take several weeks to train your dog, but our dog was a very quick study, and he is very aware of his boundries. We have been very pleased withour Four Paws fence so far.

I spent $700 on that work. They hit a couple of my sprinklers and they asked me to have my irrigation repair people fix it and send them the bill. They were very prompt and very courteous.

They were very good. It took them just a couple of hours to install the fence and they trained the dogs to not go near the fence for us. The quality is good and we haven't had any trouble with it. They were great, but a little expensive.
