Complete LLC

We met with Matt Mabe of Complete LLC to design and build a new home for us in May 2013. Matt was very responsive, kind and helpful as we started the home building process. We met with his architect to design a custom home to our liking. We entered into a new home build contract in August 2013. Once the contract was signed, everything went downhill. He was hard to get ahold of. He wasn't prompt in responding to calls and emails. We were told the build would start in October and of course it never started when he said. This was just the beginning of our problems. The foundation was poured incorrectly. They forgot to leave a window in the basement, the grade was incorrect in the back, the walk up basement stairs were also incorrect. We were supposed to have 2-3 steps out from the kitchen to the backyard and it ended up being 4-5 ft high. This meant we needed a deck. We met with Matt to discuss the problems and he basically told us we could add a deck and it'd be xxx money. We were livid because we did not want a deck nor did we want to pay for it. He tried to tell us the home plans that we signed and agreed upon were not exactly what the house would look like. That makes zero sense. Drawings are done for a reason. He even told my husband, that he could come over on the weekend to screw down the floor boards because they weren't going to do it. The problems went on and on. Telling us we'd get one thing and then trying to charge us for it later. The build was never on time ever. There was mistake after mistake. It came to a point that we were supposed to close in a few weeks and there was no way the house was going to be done. If we had not extended our lease to our townhome then we would have been homeless. We had already sold our home in June 2013 and were renting until the house was done. The last straw was when he said we could wait and close a month later because our cabinets were not going to be here in time or take the smaller cabinets without a refund/credit. We had to get our lawyer involved and were able to get out of the contract. We wasted a whole year dealing with this company and ended up with nothing. We also lost $2000 from pre-wiring the house for speakers. Did he care about that? No of course not. He only agreed to let us out of the contract because he found another buyer behind our back. Do not go near Matt Mabe or his company. They are horrible people to work with. I do not recommend them at all!

We started receiving bids for work in July of 2012. We received three bids however Complete, LLC was the only company that would provide an estimated cost for the quality and amount of work that we wanted to get done. We worked with Austin Chamberlain throughout the scooping of the entire project and the final pricing. They started in our basement and re-finished several areas that were damaged due to water. This project took about 6 weeks and was done by one carpenter. Painting was subcontracted. Beginning in Feb of 2013 we started the two upstairs floors. Again, there was one Complete LLC carpenter that managed the project with multiple subcontracts completing tasks throughtout. This project took approximatly 10 weeks and we were out of the house for approximately 3 of those while they finished the enamel painting and the hardwoods. While all major home remodels offer their challenges, all in all this has been a great project. We are extremely satisfied by the quality of work and by Austin's responsiveness. Most of the major work was subcontracted and having a different set of strangers in your home (with and without us there) for 10 weeks is somewhat disconcerting, however the subcontrators were always highly professional and did an excellent job (while working around us, our small kids, two dogs, etc.). Additionally, Austin was always just a phone call aways and was regularly at the house. When we encountered problems he was able to solve them to our satisfaction. For pricing, they probably were a little on the high side but the quality fo the finish and Austin's person touch made it worth it. When finished we paid approximately 10% above quote for change-orders and overspends. We would definitely recommend Austin and Complete LLC to our family, neighbors, and friends.

Our project was complicated. We added a reverse story and half to our residence and it had to look like it was part of the original home plan. It does. We were given a schedule that was adhered to for the most part. If there were any delays, it was due to weather and not a problem with the sub contractors. Our project came in within a few weeks of the promised date and it was a pleasure to build with Complete LLC. We had constant contact with Matt as he was our project manager and he always made us feel as though our project was important. Matt followed up everyday with a visit to the project and kept a close eye on the progress. Our next project was to add another bedroom and full bath. Though the project was much on a smaller scale we received the same expertise from Matt and Austin that we appreciated with our first. We totally trusted them to have a key to our home and take care of our property as their own. We would have absolutely no hesitation to employ them again or refer them to anyone we know.
