Brunners Quality Decks

From the time I contacted Kerry he was on the ball. He called back and we set up an appointment within days to discuss a custom deck. We were technically outside of his normal service area but since we were Angie's List members, he made an exception. Once we discussed what we wanted, he told us what would work and what would not. After agreeing on details and price, we waited for the weather to cooperate. Kerry was with the crew each day and they stayed on the job until it was complete. They completed it two days earlier then expected. All materials were cleaned up when finished and he kept me informed of any delays and progress. We plan on expanding next year and will again call on Kerry and his crew. We called him because of the reviews we read on Angie's List and they are "spot on"! Thank you Kerry. We LOVE the deck and cannot thank you enough.

Due to necessary work on our home, we had to have our deck removed to allow access to the foundation from the outside. I was looking for someone to remove and haul away the old deck and later replace with another one once work on our house was complete. The foundation work was a very extensive and very stressful process so it was essential that I find a professional that was trustworthy and that I could rely on to do quality work (hopefully taking some stress off our shoulders!) Luckily, I found Kerry on Angie's List and was impressed with his ratings, so I called for an estimate. He was very friendly, professional and I did not feel rushed to explain what we needed. He also gave suggestions on cost savings and design. The removal/haul away of the old deck was scheduled quickly and the crew did a great job leaving the area clean and organized when finished. The foundation work on our home took took much longer than expected and Kerry was very patient and flexible when it came to scheduling the building of the new deck. The crew was on time both days, were hard working, friendly and respectful. They were patient with my questions and requests. I was also very impressed that not only did Kerry arrive at my house on day 1 along with his crew (introducing me to them individually), I noticed that he dropped in a few times during the build. Additionally, one of my requests was to re-attach the hand made dog ramp from the old deck for our senior dog. They did a great job at re-attaching and even elevated the bottom of the ramp so the wood would not rot in the soil. Kerry also took the time to answer questions I had on how to protect the deck with stain and waterproofing. The build took 2 days and I couldn't be more pleased with the work. I love the peace of mind that comes with knowing I made the right choice hiring Brunner's Quality Decks!

Talked to Kerry over phone , he came out and spent over an hour telling me what could be done and cost. crew came out and had work all completed in two days. could not be happier with job done, looks awesome, quality job, would highly reccomend company to anyone. He did a great job. From quote to finish, he was on time. He was on time and reasonable with his quote. He showed up on time for work and they completed it in a week. It looks great.

We contacted Kerry because of his excellent rating on Angie's List and we were not disappointed. He showed up on time for the estimate and went over what we wanted and made some much needed suggestions. He called a couple of days later with the estimate which we accepted. They were actually able to start the job earlier than he had anticipated which worked out great for us. He and his crew were here every day like clockwork until the job was done. They took away all the debris and cleaned up when they were done. The quality of their work is exceptional. We couldn't be happier and would not hesitate to use them again.

They were very professional. Great hard working crew. We are extremely happy and proud to have one of his decks. It turned out beautiful. We plan on adding another deck. So we will be calling Kerry and his crew again. No question.

Withstanding prior disappointing experiences with blue-collar workers, Kerry Brunner and his crew exceeded my expectations. They were always on time, worked without mindless chatter, and in a very efficient and a coordinated manner. Their teamwork was incredibly well-organized and professional, with no down time.

As quoted by Kerry Brunner, he did start work shortly after two months had passed. The job was much more difficult than I had expected as the rotted wood had to be manually removed entirely from the nine concrete piers before the elevating steel plates could be attached and concreted back into the piers. I believe that the job estimate was for a single day of work, however it took Kerry and a crew of three others to complete the work in two days. Kerry, however, did not increase the cost above the original estimate. I am impressed and completely satisfied with the completed result. It was certainly a job thoroughly done well. I certainly would recommend him to others seeking new or replacement deck, or simply needing deck repairs!

This was the second time I have used Brunner for deck work. they built a deck on my old house fourteen years ago and it was great. My current home is seven years old and I had Brunner replace the poorly built deck and stairs from the original construction. This is a second story deck and it is solid as a rock. Kerry and his crew did an excellent job and I would highly recommend them.

Mr. Brunner came out to give me an estimate for the project. Because of his prompt response, professional bid package (including Better Business Bureau accreditation, letters of recommendation, and copy of certificate of liability insurance), and a very reasonable bid for this large project, I accepted the bid. Mr. Brunner advised me that they had other projects ahead of ours and it would be a while until they could get to us. It was worth the wait!The crew arrived at the stated time promptly every morning, and was very courteous and pleasant. The worksite was always cleaned up and organized at the end of the day. The attention to detail during construction is very evident. The seams are tight, board cuts and fit are perfect, screws are all countersunk evenly. After the construction was done, the worksite was completely cleaned up.The finished product was better than I had hoped for. Not only would I recommend them to others, I will call them again if I ever have any other future projects.

I am an engineer with many years of construction experience. Kerry and his crew's attention to detail, work ethic, and efficiency were top rate. I was amazed at how fast the project went, from old deck demo, to pouring piers (there were 15), to posts, framing, roof, stairs, and railings. Speaking of piers, the crew hand dug around some of the piers near my sprinkler lines (big bank of lines going through the deck area) before drilling the holes. They located the lines a couple of times and none were damaged - amazing! They also reversed the stairs and landing from the original plan which actually turned out better! The crew was punctual, extremely productive, answered any questions I would have, and did a great job of cleaning up. The crew was so good and worked so hard, I am going to thank them formally in this evaluation; Kerry, Ed, Frank, Robert, Joe, and Crayton. You guys are awesome! "Quality" is paramount in the company name. The crew takes extra effort to deliver a quality job. And, "Kerry" may be another term for "character", because he surely is. His sense of humor worked well with mine. We actually had some fun! Our deck is strong, dovetails beautifully into our exiisting rooflines, looking like it was originally built with the house, and, it is visually striking. My wife and I refer to is as an HGTV project. I enthusiastically recommend Brunner's Quality Decks and would not hesitate to use them for future projects.

In March 2012, I had contacted Brunner's Quality Decks to get an estimate on replacing the front porch of my 1910 home. The owner, Kerry Brunner, responded to my call that same day to let me know when he would be available to come by my home to look at the porch. After he came by, he told me he would have an estimate to me in a few days. He called in the next couple of days, and I accepted the bid. He told me that he would be able to start the job in approximately 4 weeks, or sooner. I received another call from him approximately 2 weeks after the initial bid, and he advised he would be able to start on my porch the next day. He and his crew arrived early the next day, torn down the old porch, supported the columns on the porch, and hauled away all of the old wood. They arrived the following day and built the frame, joists and secured piers in concrete into the ground for additional support for the porch. When they came the final day, they finished the porch with the tongue-in-groove flooring and built steps. The porch looks great! Kerry and his crew were very polite, professional and efficient. Everything for this job went exactly as Kerry had explained in our initial meetings. The cost of the job was exactly what he had initially bid (no hidden costs) and was paid after the work was totally completed; everything was cleaned up and hauled off as they worked, and they did an excellent job. Oh--also forgot to mention--they tiptoed around my plants and flower garden which was right in front of the porch, and kept my plants intact---a definite plus! I would definitely recommend Brunner's Quality Decks, and will keep them in mind for other projects for my home.

They removed the remainder of the old deck. Concrete pads were poured to support the posts and allowed to set over the weekend. The framing was up within two days and the deck and stairs were finished the same week. This is the first company that I did not have to go outside and check every few hours to make sure the job was being done properly. They even made the old deck that was remaining match up perfectly with the new deck. The deck is very sturdy and looks fantastic. Everything was done to code or above and it passed the building inspection the first time. I will use this company again for the next part of our project!

Kerry was very accommodating and really knows what he is doing. He and his workers were so nice and we came to really feel good about the people not just in their abilities.

Mr. Brunner's list means you get his full attention when you turn comes and he and his crew are working on your project. They are not juggling several jobs at once--just yours. I was able to use the wait time to do some site preparation: remove an old patio, move a water spigot, and add an exterior electrical outlet. Mr. Brunner was able to steer me away from several design problems to features that will make using the deck much easier. For example, I had wanted the deck floor the same height as the house floor. Based on his advice, it was installed about 2 inches lower so that the exterior door will not get blocked with snow. I had wanted the privacy screen to start at the floor. He explained that a "sweep space" of about 4 inches would permit me to sweep leaves and snow off the deck very easily. These and many other good ideas and suggestions resulted in a really good-looking and serviceable addition to my home. Mr. Brunner arranged for delivery and pick-up of the construction materials, and kept the site clean. He worked side by side with his crew. He took the trouble to explain how the light control works, and left me with owner's manual for it. I enjoyed getting to know Mr. Brunner and have great respect for his honesty and work ethic.

Kerry arrived when hs said he would and finished in the time expected. You could set your watch by his arrival time. I think that one reason it looked gorgeous is I spend time going through books and consulting the web and had a diagram for Kerry. He definitely embellished the design but all were improvements.

It went very well. Once I accepted the bid, I was put on the list of pending jobs with the understanding that it would be a week or two before they could get to mine. Within two weeks or so, I got a call saying, weather permitting, they would come on Friday of that week to tear out the old deck and start the rebuild. They got the old deck dismantled and debris removed from our property on Friday and were back on Monday to start the rebuild. It took three days to rebuild and on Wednesday they finished, cleaned up the work area and left. When they encountered some hidden deterioration in the sidng where the floor of the old deck had met the house, they called my attention to it and indicated that they'd like to repair it before starting the deck rebuild. I agreed to the very modest costs of the needed new siding materials and the job moved forward. The workers were punctual, polite, tidy, and meticulous in their construction techniques. Everyone who has seen the new deck marvels at how precise and neat the carpentry is as well as how structurally sound the new deck's design is. Kerry worked along side his crew as the project proceded. I could not have asked for a better work ethic or a better finished product at a price I felt was reasonable.

I knew I wanted to hire Kerry for this project when I met with him the first time to get an estimate. He had lots of great ideas to add to the project that were complimentary. He came in with a reasonable estimate and I hired him. Kerry and his crew showed up early each day and went right to work. The only time they weren't working was when they took a short lunch break. All of these men were extremely hard workers, very polite and friendly. We encountered problems that caused a lot of intensive hard work on everyone's part but there was never a complaint. Kerry could very well have come to me and said he would have to charge extra, but he didn't. I could tell that he takes pride in the workmanship of his work. There was a lot of thought given to details in the project and it was as if Kerry was building this for himself. I found the work to be of excellent quality. Not only was the work of high integrity but I believe the man himself to be of high integrity. I was blessed to have had Brunner's complete this project for me. If I ever have any other work of this kind to do, I wouldn't even consider anyone else. I would recommend (and have) this company to anyone.

Kerry and his crew were here every morning at 7:30 AM and did wonderful work. They cleaned up their work area everyday before they left. Burners bid was below others and offered more.

We had sustained wind damage from a recent storm and it was just time to fix the deck. We interviewed two other contractors and were impressed by Kerry's professionalism and presentation of his company. He was the low bidder, we agreed upon a start time and they completed the deck when they said they would. He's very busy, so there is a waiting period, but we were willing to wait. They were very thorough in their work and completed the job on time. There were no hidden costs or surprises. We were very pleased.

Great! We were lucky and got him in time before the summer workload began. We have had so much work done in our back yard,with contractors and workers here from summer to fall. Most of whom we got from Angie's List. Brunner's didn't dissapoint. They were courteous, responded to our calls and questions, got the work done in the time they said they would and were very professional.

It went very well. They took hardly no breaks except for lunch. They worked hard . Finished the deck in 3 days. There was no inconvenience to us during that time. They were very pleasant people.

We provided a layout for the deck. Kerry built out our plans while talking us through a few small changes to keep us to code. Kerry and his team were prompt, professional and easy to work with. Kerry was willing to work with us purchasing the materials and him providing labor only. He did offer up pricing if he had purchased all materials (which was right on par with with actual costs). During the process there was one minor detail I didn't like. I talked with Kerry about it and he totally took care of it for me. Our new 12x15 deck shows great workmanship and was an excellent addition to our house. Kerry was honest, funny and we'd definitely use him again.

he came over for estimate, was prompt and honest about time frame when work would be completed. ( a few weeks out due to existing projects) The guys that came to work were nice LOCAL guys. and as far as i know the project manager was here the whole time the work was being done, a switch from how previous contractor have done jobs. They started the work and pretty much went without a hitch, we had one small issue with a post being moved ( he told us he was going to do it, and we agreed but after seeing it didn't like the position and it was corrected it with an alternative that works great for us. ) So we would recommend this company to anyone looking for new deck or fixing a deck. We also had copper caps from our old deck that he worked to get moved to the new deck.

We highly recommend Brunner's due to the excellent workmanship, price and quality of our deck and enclosed room. Kerry and his crew completed the job in two weeks (he originally said it would be 2-3 weeks depending on the weather.) He and his crew were at our house every day- working hard- even in the 105 degree weather. Kerry communicated with us at all times and kept the construction site clean.
