Alliance Construction Group, LLC

I hired Alliance Construction Group for repairs and staining of two decks at rental units of mine. Our contract called out specific repairs (shown below) that were to be included in this job. Despite our contractual agreement, these repairs were never made. - 12 2x6x10 boards to be replaced on flooring of 7705 deck - 4x4x2 post on 7705 deck to be replaced and set on concrete footing - 4x4x3 post on 7707 deck to be replaced, installed on concrete footing and secured by post bracket - Replace 2 2x4 posts on 7707 staircase with 4x4 posts and install on concrete footing In addition to not completing all the contracted work, it took them 34 days before they claimed the work was completed. When bidding this job, the quote from Alliance Construction Group was nearly $400 more than the cheapest quote. The only reason I chose them was because their representative committed to completing the work in three days by August 1st. The work that was actually completed was not finished until September 2nd. So not only did they fail to complete all contracted work, they also failed to deliver on their timeline commitment. To make matters worse, I paid half the cost upfront using my credit card. Without my authorization, Alliance Construction Group charged the remaining balance to this same credit card immediately after claiming to have completed the work. In fact, I received an email on Labor Day saying the work was complete. My credit card was billed less than 24 hours after sending this email. I did not have a chance to review the work or was never able to speak to someone to complain about all the delays before my credit card had been billed. I requested that this final credit card transaction be cancelled and my request was ignored. After having a chance to review the work, I sent an email to Alliance Construction Group complaining about the delays and the contracted work they did not complete. The response I received said that the repairs listed in our contract could not be completed within budget and I would need to pay more to get those repairs made. This was the first I had heard that the repairs Alliance Construction committed to making were not going to be completed. Throughout this entire process, there was very little communication regarding the status of the work. Despite leaving at least four voice messages and sending at least one email, I only received one phone call and one email in response. Both responses claimed weather was causing the delays. Using historical weather data from www.weather.com anyone can see that 23 days in August were without precipitation and the last 19 days of the month were dry so weather was not the cause of the delays. Dealing with Alliance Construction Group has been a completely negative experience for both me and the tenants at my rental units. Given their complete failure to deliver on their commitments, I find it hard to believe that anyone would have a good experience with Alliance Construction Group and I am scratching my head wondering how a company like this can stay in business.
