Extremely well.
Description of Work: Great company and excellent service. They couldn't have come out any quicker. They pulled some moisture barrier that trapped a growth and did an excellent job removing it.

John came out to my home the same day I called and provided a free estimate to clean up the damage. He was very knowledgable, polite and thorough in explaining what needed to be done and why. He made me feel confident that I could trust him and didn't pressure me into doing something I wasn't comfortable with even if it wasn't recommended. His employee's were introduced by name and they were nice and respectful. He returned promptly the next day and inspected the studs to insure they were properly dried. I wouldn't hestitate to call them again in the future.
Description of Work: I had sewer back up in my basement that affected the walls and carpeting.

When I first called Gregg, he set up an appointment and came by on a Wednesday or Thursday, even though the attic was not available to inspect. He said that to assess the mold, he would need access to the attic, but that he would provide a construction bid by Sunday so that I would have that for the insurance inspection. ?I had to talk to my husband about attic access, because he had to move his motorcycles out of the garage. ?After several phone calls, I told Gregg that the insurance adjustor would be there on Monday morning at 9 and that he could inspect the attic at the same time. ?He agreed to be there. On Sunday there was no construction bid and on Monday morning there was no mold contractor. He did not call to cancel or explain. When I called him, he said that he had been out on an emergency call on Sunday night and had slept through the appointment. ?He then came out, inspected the attic, looked at the gutters to add those to the bid, and said that he would provide a bid by Tuesday evening. There were at least two moves he made in the second inspection where he used the wrong tool for the job and scared me about his attitude toward his own safety. ?It is now Saturday, and no bid has been forthcoming. ?
Description of Work: We had found two areas of mold in our house; one where the roof had leaked into the soffit over the porch and garage overhang, and one where we had a drain pipe slowly leaking into the wall. After repairs to the pipe, and in conjunction with calling in roofers, I called John Gregg of Water and Mold Begone to provide a bid on cleaning the mold in the kitchen, where the pipe had leaked, and on replacing all the damaged plywood in the porch area and cleaning any structural members that were affected.

Response from Water & Mold Begone
We had been out there to do a bid. The attic was not available for inspection. So we set up another day to come look at it.Which in this economy one free bid is really all we can afford. Everything I had told them needed done they had a response on how that was not important to them. We choose not to do the job for them. I'm sorry they are unsatisfied with are services but we did no work for them. So this should not affect are ability to do the job when we want it. Thanks John

Water and Mold Begone was very responsive to our request for an estimate and replaced or repaired all the damaged areas in a small bathroom. They arrived on time and completed all the repairs efficiently and did an excellent job. I would highly recommend them.
Description of Work: We had water damage due to a sewer backup caused by some repairs which were incorrectly done to the main sewer. Water and Mold Begone responded to our situation quickly and provided an estimate. The entire event was stressful, but Water and Mold Begone's professionalism and willingness to complete the repairs and remediate our water damage really saved the day.

They started out doing a good job. They did not do the work per what was discussed. They got the check from the insurance company and since this I have not seen them. They went behind my back and talked with the adjuster from my insurance company without even letting me know. I was not able to check the work out and that was my fault. They knew this and took advantage of the situation. John was complaining about money towards the end of this and then I got the check and gave it to him. There was a guy who came in after this to replace the installation up things and he became confrontational with me and left. He told me he did not even work for John that he was a subcontractor of him. No one has ever came back to fix the electrical work, to take out the wall that needs to come out. I learned to never ever pay a service provider without checking out their work.

Response from Water & Mold Begone
We did everything that the insurance paid us to do. My guy went over there to replace her insulation which we had not been paid for. just to be nice and she started saying her house still smelled which all her carpet was wet upstairs from leaving water in her basement for weeks. We told her 10 times that we needed to remove the carpet and the insurance agreed. But she said know well that is why your house stinks. My guy said do you want me to put in the insulation or not and she got mad and shut the door. Let me remind you she will talk your leg off. A simple conversation can take a hour with her. I was the 3rd restoration company on the job. She had already fired two. She was also on her second adjuster. She is not easy to get along with. She also still owes me $5,000.00 dollars for the mold remediation we did. The first check was for the water damage. I never asked her for the rest of the money. But after reading what she said I will be sending the final payment to collections. Thanks John

There was a minor snafu with scheduling (they were a few days behind on other jobs, it happens), but they worked with my schedule and got the job done in less time than estimated. Overall, I am very pleased.
Description of Work: Removed wet and moldy drywall and insulation in the corner of the downstairs bathroom, replaced everything, and repainted the affected area. They carefully protected the rest of the house from the mold while the demo was being done.

He came out and went under the crawlspace with my husband and took some samples. He did not charge us for it. He called back and told us that it was not mold and that we didn't have any mold. He was very nice. We were very impressed with him. We will definitely be using him again.

We had not been able to afford professional mold abatement for years, but the mold problem had gotten so bad we couldn't delay it any longer. The poor conditions in our home from the water damage and resulting mold growth were exacerbating my husband's already serious health issues. I joined Angie's List and started to do research on reputable mold removal companies. We considered two firms, but in the end chose Water & Mold Begone because of their certifications and positive reviews on Angie's List and Service Magic. John is low key, so there was no sales pressure when we had him provide a proposal. He and his team were professional, easy to work with and we felt very comfortable having them in our home. They were conscientious and hard working--showing up early in the morning and working the whole day. They were very accommodating of our schedule and our requests for additional help outside the scope of the mold problem. They cleaned up after themselves and removed all the debris from our property. We felt the price was reasonable considering the scope of the work. John and his team did a great job--the house is mold free and it is such a relief to be able to breathe clean air again. Another testament to John's integrity was that after we had paid him in full, I found a couple of minor issues that needed his attention. He was very responsive and willingly returned to correct the problems. We are very pleased with our experience and have already recommended Water & Mold Begone to others.
Description of Work: Abatement of extensive mold growth (including stachybotrys—toxic black mold) in water damaged basement, removed the damaged sheetrock, carpet and linoleum, replaced the drywall, trim, and cleaned the air ducts throughout. Also, at our request, did some remodeling work: removed “popcorn” ceiling in basement and bedroom, replaced it with a “knockdown” ceiling, repaired large hole in bedroom ceiling, obtained and installed a new bathroom vanity and sink, removed basement wallpaper and glue.

Description of Work: Water & Mold Begone came out and gave a free estimate. They took a sample to test for mold and will get back to me later. They didn't think it was mold but took a sample for testing.

John came to give us a bid the same day we called and started the job that same evening. His was the third bid we received and we hired him on the spot because of his professionalism and training in mold remediation. John is very prompt in returning calls, honest and worked with us easily on getting the job complete. All of the people John brought into our home to complete the work were wonderful and he always introduced everyone by name before they went to work which I appreciated. The work performed was outstanding and top quality. We had to have sheetrock, tile, carpet, trim and doors replaced along with a lot of painting. I will definitely recommend John and his team to anyone I know needing this type of work done because he made a difficult situation much easier. We had to deal with this over Christmas and I appreciate him working with us.
Description of Work: They provided the clean-up after raw sewage backed up in our finished basement. They used fans and an air scrubber to make sure everything was dry and ready for repairs to begin. They removed drywall, carpet, doors, and misc. items damaged. After cleaning they applied a solution to all areas the raw sewage came in contact with and replaced all damaged items they removed.

John came to give a bid the next day after I called. He started the job within a week after I accepted the bid. He was the second lowest out of 5 bids I obtained and seemed the most honest and professional of those 5. He used an air scrubber and a barrier from the rest of the house. They finished the job in 2 days and I was very satisfied. I did not have them do the mold testing after they finished. The inspector, " Inspector Nick" from Applied Property Inspections" (also found on Angie's list) did the inspection. He found a small amount of mold under some dry wall and said he would talk to John. John was back out within 2 days to fix the problem. It was at that point that he added the mold deterrent. I am not sure why this was not done in the first place, but John was professional in seeing that the job was done right. The second mold test came back fine and I have had no problem since.
Description of Work: They provided removal of furniture, trash, and effected drywall in 900 sq ft basement. Also cleaned furnace vents and applied mold deterrent to basement walls. They did not put back drywall per our agreement. ,

I believe we called on a Sunday and made an appointment for an estimate the next day. John was on time and was able to start on our job on Tuesday. He finished by Wednesday and had all of the mess cleaned up - tiles pulled up, drywall torn out, anti-mold agents deployed, etc. He gave us the appropriate documentation for our insurance and was very professional. We would use them again.

I called John @ W&MBG first thing in the AM after I found the 3 inches of standing water in the basement. He was on his way to work & I believe had multiple calls due to all the rain the weekend previous but returned my call promptly within about 20 minutes. They arrived just a couple of hours after I called which was acceptable & got right to work. After surveying the scene, dropping off crew & equipment they began pumping water out the the stairs & out. This took a while because there was too much water for the large pump to take at once so they used two small sump-sized pumps. Once enough water had been removed to begin hauling things up the stairs the crew helped me take all the furniture (both ruined & salvageable) up the stairs for inventory. The whole process took about 2 days total & the crew was prompt, hard working & respectful of my home. On the second day they came in the afternoon to remove the fans & the rest of their equipment. The debris wasn't removed until the 3rd day but John had informed me of this early on so it wasn't a problem. It has been 1 month since they were here & no mold has come in. I would recommend W&MBG to anyone in need of remediation services.
Description of Work: My sewer line was clogged due to tree roots so during the weekend of rain in June we had 3" of water back up our sewer line into the finished basement. W&MBG came out the morning after & sucked all the water up into the street via pump & the proceeded to suck all remaining water out of the carpet with an industrial water vac. Once the majority of the water was out they assisted me in carrying all furniture up to the garage for drying/inventory & proceeded to tear out the baseboards & carpet, cutting it & carrying it out to the street. They ended up hauling all of the carpet away as part of their service. Because 2-3" of the sheet rock had been soaked, they cut the bottom 10-12" of sheet rock off & disposed of. They mopped up the final wet areas & sprayed anti-mold agents on all affected areas. Then they placed about 7-8 fans strategically throughout the basement for a period of 24 hours to air everything out. Tore out final carpeting on stairs & hauled everything away.

The serviceman showed up at our house, took a quick look at the area with the mold, and immediately came back upstairs. He confirmed it was a mold problem (something we already knew) and then took off without giving us a price quote for the work or a description of what needed to be done. He couldn't get our of there fast enough. Our appointment was at 4:30 PM, so I'm guessing we were the last house of the day and he wanted to get out of there and get home. It was extremely frustrating and unprofessional.

John and his crew did an excellent job for me. I do some property investing as a hobby and was in a pinch on a foreclosed property that I was under contract for. Last minute, the lender required mold remediation of the property as a condition of closing. Given that my closing date was only a week away (with $350/day late penalties), I had to work fast. I called the top 10 mold remediation company on Angie's list for quotes. Most wouldn't give me the time of day because there was a lot of flooding recently and my job was "too small" to worry about because they had a sudden influx of customers worth more money to them. The rest quoted me outrageously high prices so that if they were to take my "small" job, that it would be worth their while. None of them were willing to do the work in the time frame I needed. John was just as busy as the rest of them, but he still made time for me. He quoted a very reasonable price, and performed the work the next morning showing up on-time. The quality of the remediation was excellent; not a speck of mold remains. Above and beyond that, he discovered additional mold that was not included in the original quote, but didn't nickle and dime me to do a little extra. He's an honest professional and he'll be the first person I call if this ever happens again.

John and his crew were professional, clean and always on time. His bid was great and they stayed within the budget. John answered his phone whenever I had a question and was very courteous and patient.
Description of Work: The first job we hired him for was to remediate the mold in the master shower. They took apart the walls, the floor, and part of the window. They took out all of the mold and sealed the studs. They replaced the rubber may under the floor and retiled the shower. They cleaned up at the end of each day and worked hard to finish the project in the days estimated. They put back the walls, replaced the tiled floor and sealed the shower. The second job we hired them for was to remediate the mold from the third story attic. The roof had leaked and caused mold to form on the ceiling. They cleaned up the mold, replaced 6 rotted beams, and put it all back together.
