The information provided by the sales people was good in that they laid out what was needed in order to provide enough electrical supply for the new HVAC system I had installed earlier, a heat pump unit. They provided projected costs and laid out what equipment was to be used and provided an estimate of costs which turned out to be exactly what was charged. I paid a deposit of about $3000,00 and signed a contract to have the unit installed. I live in central Missouri, Columbia, and the the work crews came from Springfield which is in southwest MO about a 3-4 hour drive. First came the installation crew who put in the panels on the roof and worked from about 10 am till just past dark. They were followed by the electricians who arrived promptly at 8 am about a week later on Saturday and were done by early afternoon. They took time to show me how the system worked and explained the various parts they installed along with some paperwork on the inverter. They turned it on to verify to me that it was working and then turned it back off. They explained that they would prefer that I not flip the breaker to allow current to run from the solar panels to my electrical box until the city utility installed their new meter which keeps track of how much electricity I am putting back on the grid. They also stated they would contact the city utility company and would prefer that I not do so myself. The informed me that after their company sent them the required paperwork the city utility company would have 30 days to install the new meter and they usually consider these kinds of installations to be a low priority over other customers who need power turned on, etc. so it would probably take them the full 30 days to get to me. I paid the remainder of the full amount the following week to the salesperson who told me that their office in Springfield should have asked for half of the remaining balance before work commenced on the installation. Oh well. About a week later I received a packet in the mail detailing every item installed and used in the system from panels to wiring to fuse type, inverter, etc. along with a paid receipt. I assumed the company had at the same time sent the city utility company all required paperwork. So on or about 30 days later the city utility had not yet installed the new meter and I called Missouri Sun Solar at their Springfield MO office to find out what was going on. I was told they had just that day gotten all the paperwork sent to the city utility and the utility employees had confirmed receipt. Which means that for the system which was installed in mid-December I have to wait until sometime in late February to use the system that I paid over $16,000. I am not happy.

Dear (Removed members name), I would first like to start off by saying thank you for taking the time for your honest review. That may seem strange coming from a company that you have given a C rating to, but we see it as an opportunity. I could sit hear and say that this is not the normal customer experience that a Missouri Sun Solar customer would experience, but those are just words even if they are truthful. What I will say is I am extremely sorry for the experience that you have had with our company and can honestly say that it was an oversight on our part that should not have taken place. I can also tell you that we have grown our company by triple since July 2015, in part because of customers such as yourself that see the benefit, savings, and freedoms of being self sustainable. For that we are grateful, but due to the quick growth we have experienced growing pains that we have been working very hard to streamline and improve our inefficiencies. This is certainly one of the areas that we have been, and will continue to work hard to improve. So again, we do apologize for your unpleasant experience and thank you for your truthful review. As mentioned we see this as an opportunity to improve our procedures as well as the overall customer experience. We are passionate about what we do and what we believe and will channel that energy to improve future experiences for our current and potential customers.
