From my first emailed request for a quote to the finished product, this fence install has been absolutely perfect! Jay came right out to give me an estimate that came by email the same evening he visited. I put a check in the mail October 29th and the fence is totally complete 8 days later. Jay arrived when he said he'd be here each day and estimated the time to completion just right. He was sensitive to the fact that we have dogs who wanted their yard back and did his best to get the job done in a timely manner. He cleaned up each day and left the yard as nice as he found it. The fence quality is just jaw-dropping. It is perfectly aligned with nice lumber- straight pickets with very few knotholes. I wanted a five-foot gate so Jay made sure that years from now we'd still be happy with one that large so put in a 6x6 post. The gate opens to the inside with great clearance! This fence was beautifully crafted and we could not be more pleased! I should add that when I spoke with Jay about continuing the fence along the 145 foot side of the yard, he pointed out the fact that the yard there sloped downhill and the fence would not provide any privacy- that we would be really unhappy. This man was honest enough, and takes such pride in his product, that he walked away from several thousand more dollars in fencing rather than put in something we wouldn't be happy with. That's the guy you want to hire! The fence is just beautiful and well-constructed. We'd give it and Royal Fencing an A+ if it was an option!

UPDATED! Fence was installed! See below for more info. Just an estimate so far, but honestly? Jay was the first of 6 estimators (all highly rated on Angie's List too) who didn't insult competition and actually thought his work would speak for itself. I have very high hopes (and think it will pan out) that Jay at Royal will be who does my fencing. I will update if it does! UPDATE: Within a week and a half, Jay's crew was out here. They were quick, nice, and went above and beyond for what we needed done. Our old fence was a joke; volunteer trees, honeysuckle, poor installation--it was enough that out of the 6 estimates, 2 were willing to even pull the old fence, the others wanted to leave it there (for my elderly neighbors to deal with, no less) and Royal was the *ONLY* one willing to put fencing back where it originally was because of a tricky tree line. They took down stumps of 2 trees, cut back deadwood in the way, got rid of bushes growing in the fence and replaced it with my new fence within 2 days. For the first time in 3 years we can leave our dogs outside without supervision. Our neighbors have all complemented the new fencing, and the 2 *very* minor issues I had were fixed within a week. I cannot say enough good about Royal Fencing. I was so terribly disappointed in every other estimate I received, Jay was #5, and I had hope again. When the last company was like the others...wanting to do the easiest job they could with 1--2 month wait times, I knew Royal was it. I was beyond thrilled when I got the estimate--which was lower than the rest as well. I don't do reviews often. When the work and the people are so outstanding to deal with, it needs to be shared. Their work speaks for itself, they don't need to insult the competition or look for shortcuts. I've already recommended them to others...and will continue to do so.

AMAZINGLY!! I spoke with Jamie on a Wednesday to confirm the price & scope of work and the next Tuesday the Royal Fence Team came and installed a BEAUTIFUL cedar privacy fence for me! I never even knew they had been there because they were finished by the time I got home from work and not a scrap of trash or wood was left behind! It could not have gone more flawlessly...an EXTREMELY PLEASANT experience from start to finish!! :)

My experience with Royal Fence was excellent. They were reliable, displayed a sense of urgency, exercised attention to detail and had a "CAN DO" attitude. Jay built the fence and Jamie handled the paperwork. Both were very personable, honest and trustworthy. I asked for an estimate for when the fence would be started and finished and Jay started and finished the fence when he said he would. I am well pleased with the fence and I would strongly recommend Royal Fence to anyone. Job well done.

Workmanship was decent and I have few complaints about the quality of the work. I asked them to use screwed instead of nails (and said I would pay the extra) but they assured me the nails they used would not back out. Well, low and behold, the nails started backing out and I had to go over the whole fence multiple times and pull the nails out and put screws in. This was the first disappointment. The double gate has sagged quite a bit and now no longer closes. I realize this is often a problem with double gates and don't put the blame fully on the provider, but it's still disappointing. Some of the boards were a bit rotten to begin with and needed replacing. I called the company multiple times, but no one would answer the phone or return my calls. This was the third and final disappointment. The warranty offered by Royal Fence isn't worth anything, as it's impossible to get them on the phone after you've already given them the money, so don't expect any sort of warranty from them. The original work was pretty well done, especially for the price, but the warranty is worthless. I logged in to Angies list today to look for someone to put a fence up at my new house and noticed Royal Fence is still around, so I'm leaving this review. I will not be calling Royal Fence to do my new fence specifically because of the lack of promised warranty support on my original fence. I will not be using this provider again.

Purchased for my daughter. Set up appointment. Drove 75 miles from my home to meet. No show. I finally tracked down hours after appointment. Was doing other work. I drove back home - another 75 miles. Set up other appointments, but weather and my wife's health interrupted. Time passed. I contacted Royal after a tickler from Angie's list. No offer to do work or refund. No further contact.

There are too many companies with guys that are passionate about their workmanship to spend money with contractors that perform subpar work. The price is good, but irrelevant if the owner refuses to take the time review problems and address.

They were great! The price didn't cost so much with the deal we had so it was good.

They did an adequate job. They came out and they were able to fix the fence but the one thing that I wish that they could have done was to replace the top pipe which they did not do. They just tried to bend it back into place so that I would not have to pay extra for a new top rail. The final cost of the service was the same as the original estimate. They just did the service for the Angie's List special and the value of the work was good for the price that I paid. Maybe I would use them again in the future.

This a a metal fence and they did a nice job until it came to the gate. The gate has never worked properly. We contacted them several times and they have not been willing to fix the issue at this point. This has been going on for about 4 1/2 months now and they still have not followed up or repairs made.

They installed a metal hand rail for my front steps. This was more complicated than usual since the steps curve over a 15 foot area. They were friendly, punctual and thorough. The gentleman even cleared all the leaves from my driveway!

They responded to our phone call very quickly, unlike others we contacted. They cleaned up after themselves very efficiently and were friendly and easy to work with. We would not hesitate to refer them to any of our friends and family.

They missed my appointment for an estimate and they never even called.

We were in contact a lot in the beginning (August) but after the guy didn't show up after August 23rd we didn't hear from them again until October. They were willing to continue trying to schedule a time to come by, but I'm tired of dealing with it.

We are in the process of using them. We haven’t started that project yet but they have been great to work with so far. We chose them because they were so prompt with their response. They were more than forth coming with all the information about the options we had. Their price was best but whatever their customer service was over even if the price was more. The quote was about $7,500. They have got some other projects to do before we get that fencing.

Prompt service and fixed the gates to my wooden privacy fence to they would latch. Did an excellent job.

We did decide to go with a more competitive bid instead of Royal.

Left 2 messages over 1 week period. Was interested in a bid for large upper and lower deck. We went with someone else, who got our $8,000+ check. Not going to beg people to take our money, but if they were booked or just busy, a call back would have been nice.

We had some trouble syncing schedules but once dates agreed on it went smooth. Great work on reworking fence with the new boards and reworking gate.

The project I wanted to complete didn’t fit the parameters of the coupon. We were working together to see what they could do to help as I wanted work completed on my gates. Once they said they were working on accommodating my project, they stopped responding. I understand they had a large project come up at the same time but I went ahead and completed the gate work.

He did a great job on the fence repair. He was able to straighten some posts and put in new pickets where some were broken. The only thing that kept this from being wonderful was the communication. We bought a deal from Angie's list and he called a couple days before he wanted to come out. It wasn't convenient timing, but he offered to do it when we weren't home, which I wasn't happy about.
