The estimate was done the same day that I called, which was critical since the old garage door had broken, crashed down (and injured our dog), and was stuck closed. The estimator removed the old garage door and set it aside so it wasn't a hazard anymore. A couple of days later, a new garage door was installed. The technician had to work in stifling heat, but was cheerful and pleasant in spite of that. He fully explained to me what he had done, how the safety latch worked, etc. On top of everything, he was sympathetic toward our dog and her injuries. It was just a very nice gesture.

The serviceman worked efficiently and repaired the door. No estimate was given for the repairs but I did not ask for one either. He completed the work in about an hour. When he gave me the bill I presented the 5% discount coupon to him. He was not aware of the Angie's List 5% discount but he did give me the discount anyway. I was satisfied with the service performed but after he left and we started using the doors again, they began to "creek" and "squeak" when they go up and down. I have not called back about this.

The representative was the most professional of the companies we talked to by far. He was straight forward, recommended steel doors. He gave us their summer discount of $50 per door as well as the Angie's discount, and did not charge us for the insulated doors, as he thought they might be stronger. He gave us an estimate on the spot, which included a lot of carpentry. The installers were on time, and carpenters of the highest quality. They worked quickly, and did better work than we ever could have expected. The doors are beautiful, line up perfectly with no gaps. We had been warned by other companies that the doors could not be installed perfectly even. They did extra work replacing hidden wood rot with new cedar. They cleaned up well after themselves. We could hardly believe our good fortune in calling them, and it made our Angie's List membership fees worth it for 30 years.

The staff was courteous and timely in providing me with an estimate to replace our garage door opener, but the price was significantly higher than what we found elsewhere.

The experience was very good. My friend backed into my garage door before it was all the way up. I called Overhead Door and talked with Greg Ballard, he came out within a couple days and since I needed to replace the door that was broken, I went ahead and upgraded to thermacore metal garage doors and replaced both of them. I was extremely happy with the installation of the new doors. Could not say enough nice things about this experience. The salesman, Greg, and the installer, Dave were very knowledgeable and the workmanship was excellent. I even had a discount by using Angie's List. That was a great bonus!

I stopped by the Metcalf showroom and received information about garage doors. Ed Forsyth came out to give an estimate a few days later. I was able to schedule a Saturday appt. in less than two weeks. Steve came out on time and proceeded to work all day. At the end of the day, he showed me how the doors were set up and how to program the key pad. He did a fine job cleaning up and was very polite. He apologized for the noise but it wasnt bad. Very good experience.

Kirk, our technician (Overland Park area) was very prompt, courteous, and knowledgeable about the workings of the garage doors. I was surprised however, that the company did not accept the 5% off coupon that they advertised in Angie's list. Kirk said that the preventive agreement already gave 10% off of repairs, etc., company would not add another 5% with Angie's list coupon--so I guess I don't understand why an Angie's list coupon means anything if a company can just say "no--this doesn't apply." Anyway, Kirk did good work and I would call the company back in the future. However, I do feel that an Angie's list coupon shouldn't be advertised if they will not be honored.

David was our installer - he did an outstanding job. Was on time and worked through lunch and even stayed late due to a circuit board error. Board was replaced within a couple of days with no problem. Very quiet doors.

They showed up on time and did a very nice job. A trim piece needs to be secured, but they agree to send someone out to fix that.

We phoned Overhead Door on Sunday, after the spring broke on Saturday night. The representative advised that they were booked for the day. They offered a 7AM, "first call" appointment for Monday morning. On Monday, we called ODKC at 7:15 AM after the technician hadn't appeared. After researching the information the dispatcher advised that the technician replaced the spring and lubricated the door in less than 15 minutes. The final bill was $118 after the 5% Angie's List Coupon was applied. We've used ODKC previously and was happy with the professional and quick servicing of the door. However, we didn't care for the tardiness of the technician, which delayed our departures for work.

Our garage doors were barely working. We called Overhead Door Co. on Wednesday and scheduled service to arrive between 8 am and noon the following day. The service man called at 7:30 am Thursday, saying he was on his way and was fixing the garage doors by 7:50 am. He completed his work between 8:30 and 9:00 am and graciously responded to all questions about repair and maintenance of our old doors and openers. We were pleased with the service and to have garage doors that work great!

The representative Richard Ellis came on time, as did the installer.

I drew out the design I wanted on my garage door. They did an excellent job of giving us exactly the look we wanted (country french). The installation was done on the day promised and the job was done to my satisfaction.

I first went into the store in Overland Park to review my options/costs for getting a garage door opener installed. The representative in the store offered some suggestions and also suggested they have someone come out to the site and look and give me a bid to make sure there were not any complicating factors. The bid occurred on a Saturday, and the installation was set up for the following Saturday.

We were very pleased. The work was scheduled quickly. The service technician was very knowledgeable and repaired a couple of things (replaced some rusted mounting brackets and worn wheels) on the fly, as we had not initially discussed these other items. We were very happy that he could finish the work all in one trip, since he was well stocked with parts. He was thorough and efficient.

The most important point is that they responded quickly because our garage did not close. The old system was non-fixable. We appreciated their fast response.

From the original meeting with Ed to starting the job and completion, everything went very smooth. The schedule for work to be done was less than a week. The installer did a professional job and took the time to demonstrate the new door.

They did a nice job, punctual, efficient and friendly. I thought the price was more than what it should have been.

The manager was so polite and helpful. He went out of his way to make sure I was taken care of. The price was reasonable, and I would recommend using this company to everyone! My experience with them was that of supreme customer service, which you dont see nearly enough of these days!

They arrived within 45 minutes of my first phone call and had the work done within 30 minutes.

Excellent. Came when they said. Fixed a small problem within 30 minutes of calling. The equipment has performed perfectly. Installation was in September of '05.

Jeff ran into a number of complications related to the structure of the doors and location of hinges, struts, etc. but addressed them professionally and completed the project at a quoted price. The supervisor followed up to see that I was satisfied.

I called this morning and Keith was here before the earliest arrival estimate. He took me through all the work that needed to be done and even corrected chains and pulleys not involved in break down. Very business like, helpful, and efficient. Keep Keith.

The technician was on time, polite, friendly and very knowledgeable about what he was doing. Fixing the door tracks didn't involve as much work as the salesman had figured so I was discounted $311 from the initial quote of $1325.
