I bought a house but former owners had lost the garage door openers! I had a serviceman come out but he told me that since the unit was pretty old, it might not be worth the expense of getting new remotes. So I had a new opener installed. He put in the opener, installed the keypad and did some weatherstripping so the door would seal well. He also checked over the door, lubricating and adjusting it. It works great now. I've used Overhead Door before and they are good to work with.

The installation went well and the door is operating as promised.

I heard a loud snap, after which my garage door would no longer open. I called Overhead Door at 2:30 on a Thursday afternoon, and I was happy to be set up with an appointment for later that day. The representative arrived within the appointment window, and quickly diagnosed the problem. I was given the option of replacing only the broken spring, replacing both springs, or replacing both springs and my noisy rollers. I selected the third option. The repair took about one hour. I am very happy with the results.

The salesman told us he wasn't a decorator, which implied he wasn't going to be terribly helpful when it came to choosing doors. He seemed to be in a hurry despite our wanting to make a significant purchase. He assured us that all of our choices would result in a tax credit (for energy savings). We found out differently later by checking information from the manufacturer online. When we contacted the salesman, he helped us to change the order and said that he had been misinformed by his company. The new choice in doors was a bit less expensive than the original choice. The installation was done on a VERY cold day but was done quickly and expertly. The doors look quite nice, and we are pleased with them. Unfortunately, our credit card was charged for the price of the doors we originally had chosen. I contacted the manager and he agreed that they owed us a partial refund. When the credit didn't appear on my credit card statement, I had to dispute the charge through the credit card company. The doors are great and the installation well done, but the paperwork was handled unprofessionally. Perhaps the company needs to stick with its specialty, overhead doors.

The service went very well. I was getting ready to go to work that morning and the door would not go up. I called my husband to come and open the door. I called Overhead Door after I found them on Angie's List. The individual set up an appointment right away and was able to come on the weekend. They came out that evening to stabilize the door so no one could get into the garage. He gave us an option of a temporary fix or to replace the opener. We appreciated the alternatives we were given. He came out a half hour earlier than they had planned which was really nice. He was here for about two hours and was very friendly. He got right on the job and had no problem with what he was doing. He seemed to know exactly what he was doing. He tuned my garage door opener in my car so I did not have to set it up. It's also quieter than the old one. We were very impressed with the whole experience!

Mike arrived between the 2 pm - 6 pm window as scheduled. When he first arrived I was in the middle of helping a friend get unstuck in the snow of my driveway (3 ft of snow drifted and all the extra snow pushed from the plows) and he parked on the street to come help my neighbor and I push her out. Kudos for going above and beyond. With that out of the way he was able to get up to the house to work. He spent 30 seconds looking at the door and made an adjustment to the up tension and was done. He started to go to his truck to print a ticket because he was done and I asked about the inspection. He replied something to the effect of "oh yeah" and came back with a spray gun of oil and walked around looking at the doors and the tracks and occasionally spraying. He was here for a total of 10 minutes and that included the time he was sitting in his truck before he got out and while he was printing the ticket, and of that he was working for about 3 minutes. I asked him how we went from $63.50 to $94 and he said it was for the 20 minutes of work. He was adequately professional and knowledgeable but I feel that the price I was charged was exorbitant. I won't call them again.

Joe LeGrotte came promptly to provide estimate. Our garage is small and has a low ceiling. He figured out how to replace the old manually operated door and fit the mechanism into a small space. The installer arrived at the agreed upon time. He did a very nice job of building down the top of the door opening to fit the new door. He installed the new door, cleaned up, and left us with a great improvement! Our family room, which is directly above the garage on north side of house, is noticeably warmer now!

My experience was excellent. Gentleman arrived on time and went right to work. by 4:00PM the work was finished. He programmed the remotes and explained features. He was very polite and professional. I am very pleased with the work done.

The bracket broke when closing the garage door Saturday evening making it so we could not get the door opened. Called Overhead Door Co. Sunday morning and left a message about our problem. Our call was returned shortly after that and someone from the company came out in about an hour and fixed the problem.

It was very good. I've had them out before and I've never had any problems with them. Everybody was punctual, did what they said that they would do, and I thought the price was decent.

One of the cables on our garage door broke rendering the garage door useless. I called Overhead Door to make an appointment and was surprised how quickly they could get someone out to my house. I thought it would take a few days and it was more like a few hours. The serviceman that came out was very professional, courteous, and answered all my questions. He replaced both cables and even lubricated the door parts to make them run more smoothly and quietly. I thought the cost was very reasonable. I was very impressed with this company and will definitely call them next time I need garage door service!

Could not close garage door. Drive gear had broken and parts were laying on top of car. Called Overhead and they arrived within 2 hours and replaced broken parts without delay. They also re-aligned the door to enable it to close tighter.

They were professional, responsive and punctual. They also gave me a discount as I am an Angieslist member. The quality of their work was good and I was satisfied with their service.

For the first experience, a service person came out to get info on the door panel and told us the panel would be ordered and in within a few days. Two weeks later, after hearing nothing I had to call in and they scheduled the installation the next day! They were supposed to also replace a non-functioning key pad but could not get the new one to work or figure out why it didn't work so they took it out. Overall an unpleasant experience. Last week my garage door opener stopped working on Monday the 17th, and would only click when the button was pushed. I looked through the door manual and used the diagnostic info to determine that the logic board needed replacing. The opener has a diagnostic light on it and blinks 5 times in groups which, according to the manual, means that the logic board is bad. I called in late afternoon for service and told the person on the phone that we needed a logic board replacement and could someone come out and do that. I told her NOT to send a service person if they did not have the logic board. My plan was to call around and see if someplace else did have it if Overhead Door did not. She assured me that the service people usually have the needed parts. The service man showed up at 8pm and, OF COURSE, he did not have the part and only "diagnosed" what we already knew. He said the part would have to be ordered but that he would put in to get it ASAP and we had to pay a $60 deposit on a total cost of $230.00 for the service and part. He even put ASAP on the receipt. He took my husband's cell number and said he'd call him the next day (Tuesday) with an update on when we will get it fixed. He didn't call on Tuesday or Wednesday or Thursday. On Thursday I ordered the logic board myself for $68.00 through a website for next day delivery. On Friday morning I called Overhead Door to cancel the service for repairs and ask for a refund of the $60 deposit. The service department person would not give a refund saying that the service call was to diagnose the problem that we had already diagnosed! He went on to say that it takes 7-10 days to get in the part, after we were told it would be fast! They refused to refund our $60.00. We lost $60.00 for a service call to tell us what we already knew and after I specifically told the service scheduler not to send someone without the parts. On Friday the logic board I ordered, for only $68, arrived and we installed it ourselves and everything works fine now. We were able to get a logic board in one day while Overhead Door was going to take 7-10 days! Our door works now --no thanks to Overhead Door. I will never use this company again.

They ordered the wrong part and didn't let us know that so we were waiting for weeks and weeks without knowing what had happened. Otherwise, they did a good job.

They are excellent and have always been excellent. I have used them for many years even when I lived in another city. I told them my garage door would not open and they came the same day. They diagnosed the problem and came back the next day and installed a new opener. They are very prompt, professional, and their prices are reasonable. They always have the parts in stock and always know what is wrong right away. They come immediately, do the job, pick up their stuff, and take away packing materials and leave. I could not ask for more.

Great! The spring and extension cable on one side of my garage door broke. They scheduled the repair at my earliest convenience and provided an estimate of the cost of replacing the springs on both sides. The repair person arrived at the scheduled time. He explained my options and the cost of each option. I decided the best option for my situation was to have both springs replaced. He performed the work, made sure the door functioned as it should, and took the old springs and parts away leaving a clean work site. He was friendly but professional and efficient. I was very please with all aspects of the service and highly recommend Overhead Door of Kansas City.

The first time they came out and repaired it. The second time they told me it would cost almost as much to fix it as it would to replace it. They were very honest and up front with me.

On a Saturday, we discovered that our garage door was unable to close automatically; it required manual assistance. I put in an online service request at their website, and received an e-mail response within minutes, and a phone call in under an hour. Mike walked me through some troubleshooting steps on the phone and helped me get the problem fixed without coming on site and without any service charge. He was very helpful, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. (Note: the cost was actually $0, but Angie's List is having problems accepting that value when I submit this form.)

Both service persons were polite, punctual, and expedited the call so I could get on with my day. I always think it could be cheaper, :~), though. The service was excellent.

I called Overhead Door and Kacy B. was dispatched to our home after my wife informed me that the garage door would not shut even after pulling the red cord. Kacy did a superb job. He answered all of my questions and was able to quickly diagnose the problem and then correct it. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I was very pleased with their work. It was excellent. They came out and did a free estimate. They sat and answered questions and listened to the special challenges of the job. He talked to me, not at me, and he listened to me and my concerns. The person who came out was very professional. He knew what he was doing. He was pleasant and willing to have a conversation. My small child talked to him and he obliged and talked with my child. I felt safe and confident. The job was done well and quickly. They gave me an estimated time and stuck to it. They said they'd finish in a certain time period and they did. They told me a lot about the door and it's features. They didn't try to oversell me and my needs. It was a very pleasant experience. The estimate was what I paid, there was nothing unexpected. They came within a week of the estimate and even hauled away the old door.

It went very well. They also accepted the Angie's List coupon I had printed out. I marked N/A on the original estimate cost question because it did cost more than the estimate but they put in 2 springs, not just one.

Ray replaced both springs (one was sprung and needed to be replaced anyway), replaced the broken cable and lubed the rollers on the garage door. Door now works better and quieter than it did before the cable broke.
