I scheduled an appointment to have our 20 year old oven repaired. James came out and replace a small in-line fuse, which did not fix the problem. He said he would need to order another fuse to complete the repair. He assured me that there would not be another service charge and that the part was simple. I paid the $ 93.00 that he requested and we scheduled the second appointment. Another technician came for the second appointment and replace the additional fuse and called me with an additional bill for $ 260.00. When I questioned the second bill the technician told me I would need to talk to his dad Nick Faddis. Nick called me and I explained the situation and told him that if I had known the repair was going to be $ 360.00 I would have just bought another oven. I assured him that I had not been told that the second trip was going to be $ 260.00. He then became indignant and told me to "just step up and pay the bill". Not wanting to argue with him any further I paid the bill. When I received the receipt it said..... All payments are due at the time of the repair. You hereby accept the above services and charges as being satisfactory and acknowledge that the equipment has been left in good condition. 180 day warranty on all parts that were provided by Nutterman's for a repair, also 180 day guarantee on labor described above for all repairs performed by Nutterman's unless otherwise specified. NO CASH REFUNDS. There is absolutely no warranties or guarantees OF ANY KIND on any “Trip Charge”, "Service Call" or "Diagnosis Fee" only charges. In summary, you had better understand that you are signing a blank check with Nick when they do repairs and evidently, if you question him, he will void any kind of warranty on their work.
