Just as I stated above, the visit was very educational and thorough and I appreciated all of Justin's information. We only hesitated due to the cost at a time as now. We will keep them in mind should we choose to go that route in the future.
Description of Work: Justin met with me to provide an estimate to stucco our home. He is a very professional and thorough contractor who is very proud of his family's business. Although we are not choosing to go forward with this type of siding I would & do recommend this company for the quality of work they can do.

We are thrilled with our windows! They were installed this week and the noise and temperature differences are amazing. So glad we found this company through a neighbor. The installer was very professional and neat! We look forward to working with this company on more projects in the future.

It was excellent because of their skill, their professionalism, and their punctuality everyday. Everything was incredible. I can't say enough good about them.
Description of Work: Johnson County Siding & Window Co Inc came out a year ago and put on new siding with a lifetime warranty. We had brick halfway up on the front of our house so he took that off and replaced it with real nice stone and they put new guttering up and gutter guard.

They are excellent. It was a very good experience. They came out and we talked to them twice about various things on the phone and we were able to make adjustments when needed when we decided on different things so we had him. Basically we had him estimate at various levels, so they were two different style of windows and then the various options that come with the windows that they did it both ways. They were very professional, very knowledgeable, very honest in what they were telling us with they thought this area typically used and needed for between like double standard, triple standard and so on. I would use them again.

I had been trying for a few years to figure out where a specific leak was originating under a bedroom window. I finally decided to call a professional. JCS&W came right out, evaluated, provided a written estimate, we agreed, and then they started work about 2 weeks later and completed the job over about a 1-week period. You can not tell the difference between their stucco job and the original stucco on the house. They were very professional and polite.
Description of Work: JCS&W removed all the stucco on a 2nd floor portion of the house surrounding a bedroom window. They inspected and figured out where the leak appeared to be originating. They replaced the flashing, reapplied stucco and painted.

After looking at various options over the previous 3 years, I chose Bill Christie (owner) and Johnson County Siding & Window Company for a few reasons. While the price seemed to be a bit higher than almost all other options, I valued very highly that I could get the entire project done with one company. I held Bill accountable for every detail of the entire job, and he absolutely came through. Everyone who worked on our home was extremely trustworthy and professional - especially Rosie! A couple of situations that demonstrate Bill's responsiveness: 1. As you replace siding, your home is exposed for a period of time while waiting for the caulking & painting. We had a snow/ice storm during this project, so we suffered some leakage inside the house. There was no discussion or me trying to talk Bill into taking care of this - Bill had his very professional painters come to fix the water-stained ceiling perfectly. 2. Bill's painters broke a couple of small decorative windows while painting, and again - no discussion. Bill had them replaced at his cost. 3. Some of the decorative pieces on the front of the home were removed and thrown away when preparing for new siding as a result of some miscommunication (both of our faults). Bill came up with another solution and made some new pieces that served as a fantastic solution - again, at his time and his expense. Bill clearly had an interest in our complete satisfaction on this job. If I had the option of doing it all over again, I would absolutely choose Bill and this company again. That being said, there are a few things I would caution others on..... -I recommend being very clear on what decorative items on the house stay, and which ones go. Bill replaced some of those that were thrown away, but I paid $700 above the initially agree-to total cost of the project to replace the crown molding from the wrap-around deck that was thrown away during the prep phase. -My gutters were removed as siding was being installed, and they were left off the home for a period of time. Unfortunately, we had a significant downpour of rain during that time and I had water in the basement as a result. No serious damage - but a real inconvenience to soak up, clean, and dry it out on my part. -The only other slight negative is my learning that certain-teed fiber cement siding is not as hard as cement! I already have a dent or 2 from a baseball. I was under the impression that you couldn't dent the siding even if you tried. Also, the siding's warranty is not 100% for every year, it is a sliding scale warranty - it appears coverage decreases each year. I think it is also important to note - Bill wants you happy after the job too. He is even making sure our lights (which were on back-order from the manufacturer) get put onto the home properly. I'm going to hold him to it!
Description of Work: My entire home and detached garage was updated with fiber cement siding, 12 replacement windows, a new front door and a new back door. The entire home & detached garage was also painted.

After having 4 companies quote the job, we decided to use Johnson County Siding & Windows based on price, quality of product & professionalism. Bill Christie came over to quote the job, brought samples and answered all of our questions without being pushy or too "salesman-like," as was our experience with other companies. They were accommodating to our schedule and showed up promptly at the time they promised. The replacement siding blended very well and we love how much brighter our home feels with the new windows. The crew cleaned up everything both inside and outside our home when leaving as well. We were very happy with all apects of the service and would highly recommend to others.

The work was for two bays (6 windows). In addition, they provided a manufacturer's "double lifetime" guarantee, which means both my lifetime as well as the lifetime of anyone who buys from me. The guarantee covers chips or breaks from any cause as well as a full guarantee on the frames
Description of Work: The company came out and gave me a quote on time and as promised. Then, I called them back about an Angie's List discount which was substantial and they readily agreed. The work was scheduled and they came out on time as promised. They had told me the job would take likely the full day but they were gone by about 3:30. They did an excellent and great curb appeal job. I am totally satisfied.

We did talk to Johnson County Siding and Window Co., Inc. and one of the sales representative looked over everything. We had good long talk with him. He told us what he thought was possible or not. About two weeks later he sent a window man, he came in the dark, in the 6 inch deep snow at about 7 o’clock at night, and told us what he needed to do. We had no idea how he could tell us these things when he didn’t see from the inside, but still we talked about it. After several days have passed, we didn’t hear from them anymore, so my husband called them and that’s when they said that they didn’t think the job was worth their scale which, I thought was rather rude.
Description of Work: We did talk to Johnson County Siding and Window Co., Inc. and they did consider the job too small. They gave us the impression they would and we eventually had to contact them and they said that they didn’t see it worth their time. So I guess no service was rendered.

Response from JoCo Siding & Window Co., LLC.
A sales representative responded to the member's initial contact via phone on February 9, 2013 at 12:43pm scheduling a time to meet on Saturday, February 23rd. After meeting for approximately two hours, it was determined that the member wanted James Hardie siding on the home's front and an estimate to repair the wood rot on the windows and back of the home. The sales representative called to inform the member that he would come back on the February 27th to do a final take-off and bring a professional painter to assess the wood rot, and the representative did so. He then called back on February 28th at 5:19pm, leaving a message on the member's cell phone, and at 5:20pm, leaving a message on the member's home phone. On March 1st at 11:34am another message was left on the member's home phone. Due to the fact that the phone messages he left were not returned, he sent an e-mail on March 4, 2013 at 12:22pm requesting that the member call him on his cell phone to discuss the scope of the project as the parameters of the project had changed. The member called back on March 12th, 2013 & the representative promptly returned the phone call. It was determined that the member was requesting repair services that Johnson County Siding & Window Company does not provide. The member was no longer interested in siding replacement; the member had made the decision to repair the wood siding rather than replace it. With this knowledge, on March 13th, 2013, the representative referred the member to a service provider offering wood rot repair as Johnson County Siding & Window Company sells and installs low maintenance products and does not offer only "wood rot repair" services. The member was never told by the sales representative "that we didn't think the job was worth our scale." As a professional exterior remodeling company, we value each and every opportunity to help customers achieve their remodeling goals. Thank you: Bill Christie-Owner

At the end of last summer, I started getting bids from companies for siding replacement. I felt very comfortable with Johnson County Siding and Windows from the beginning. All of the other companies that I talked to started talking about "price increases" as soon as they gave me their bid, and I never experienced any pressure from Justin Christie. From the first visit, Justin was very helpful in answering questions and assessing needs. Johnson County Siding's price was higher than others that I had received, but I felt that they were offering a superior product. Before the work was started, there were some scheduling issues, but they were very good at communicating and they worked with me to set up a start date that would accommodate my schedule. Once the work began, Justin contacted me daily, letting me know how they were progressing and when certain parts of the project would be completed. Rosie and his crew were very helpful and considerate of my time and property. There were a few issues along the way, but every problem was promptly addressed and fixed as promised. Once the main part of the project was completed, the large dumpster and trailer were removed from my driveway as soon as possible, which was important to me. The whole project took a little longer to finish than anticipated, but that was mostly due to the stone work. They were trying to get this done in January, and although there was a stretch of good weather, the stone work has to be done when temperatures are above freezing, and it took some extra time to schedule those days. Over-all, I was very pleased with the final results. Justin promised me the best-looking house on my block, and I think I got it!
Description of Work: Replaced all of the old cedar shake shingles on my home with Certainteed Cedar Impressions siding and installed Centurion stone on the front center section of the house. Replaced all trim. Installed new gutters and downspouts and installed new storm door on front.

Three man crew arrived on the day they said they would and began work immediately. The crew foreman was Rosie and he handled every question and issue that came and did so very pleasantly and graciously. They also coordinated with our painters, and made sure that the house was ready for painting when they finished. The workmanship was exceptional. Debris was cleaned up each day, and the finished product was immaculate..
Description of Work: Initially I had Johnson county siding replace the siding on one side of our home so that painters could paint the house. After seeing the quality of the work and the materials used, we decided to have them put new siding on the entire house. The crew was excellent and very professional and responsive.

Overall everything went smoothly. From the time the dumpster and the trailer took over our driveway to the time everything was removed and cleaned up the project was flawless. Any tme things needed to be changed or corrected my wife or I got a call from Don and he was going to fix the situation. The important thing is that he was not just going to fix the situation, he was going to make sure we were happy. Great overall experience.
Description of Work: I saw a Johnson County Siding and Window truck in the neighborhood where I work. I made one phone call and the next thing I knew I was set up with Don Eberting. From that point on the service and work were impressive. At first my wife and I were just going to get new siding. By the time we were done we got new siding, windows, columns and paint. We now have a brand new house on the outside and I could not be more proud. Not only did Johnson County Siding and Window do our house they also provided work for our neighbor. Honestly this was work that was needed on our house but we certainly could have waited. Had it not been for Don, his expertise and his attention to detail and genuine care for my wife and I we probably would not have pulled the trigger on such an expensive investment. But I am very glad we did and I will use Don and Johnson County Siding and Window for any and all future work on the outside of my house. We could not be happier.

Overall it went very well. Justin worked with me about the adjustment for creating a rectangular window from the previous square plus half moon. Additionally he provided options for a series of front casement style windows. We also selected a much better storm door from the construction grade door. As part of this replacement of the modified window we had to stain some wood trim for the carpenter to install. Justin reached out to us several times to update on when the work would start as well as scheduling the window and material delivery. One little snafu was we didn't realize they didn't take credit/debit cards and they were in the process of enabling that option in the future. That lead to an awkward situation when the job was completed, however they were gracious for us to arrange the payment a few days latter as we move funds around. The only minor issue was the piece of exterior trim which was written up for replacement but was missed. The quality of work and the professionalism of all the employees was high. I would use them again and have recommended them to others.
Description of Work: Replaced 8 windows due to some wood rot and replaced a storm door with a substantial upgraded door (provia door with self contained dual bug screens) replaced a window from square with half moon over it to a uniform rectangle shape. Some framework had to be done to accommodate this change. Requested a piece of exterior trim be replaced.

The work was supposed to be performed a week earlier, but when the supplier arrived at my house, the glass door had fallen over and broken, so they had to order a new one. We only had to wait another week or so. The carpenter arrived first and did a very thorough job of revising the wood rot around my old doorframe and fixing things. He was able to retain and re-use the wood from my existing stairs. He framed in the new door and his woodwork on the inside was perfectly mitred and solid. He also showed me how to adjust the door in case the house shifts and the doorframe skews out of alignment. He took away all debris and swept up after himself. The siding crew had to wait a day because of rain. When they arrived, the guy in charge went over the job with me, and when I said a fascia board was supposed to be replaced, he said he hadn't known about that. He re-read the contract and agreed with me, then got on the phone and arranged to have that size of board delivered to the job site. Then his team got to work removing the old siding, putting up some kind of fabric stuff, and then putting on the new siding. They worked fast and neat. An issue I did notice later: the hole in the siding for my drier vent did not line up perfectly with the vent hose. They had had to cut off part of the facing of the drier vent in order for it to fit. They caulked and washed the new siding boards and cleaned up after themselves, leaving a pile of construction debris for a later crew to come haul away. There was also the matter of an internal corner where the edge of the soffit didn't quite match up with the new siding. I was concerned animals would climb up into the soffit. When the salesman came by to finalize the work, I showed him that spot and he agreed that it should be sealed. The next day a workman showed up to put a piece of metal over that spot and to haul away the trash pile.
Description of Work: Johnson County Siding removed my old patio door, put in a new sliding glass door, and replaced the wood composite siding on one wall of my house with carbon fiber siding. They also repaired some wood rot around the old patio door and rearranged things so that water wouldn't come in behind the steps leading up to the door.

Our house was built in the early fifties and the windows were original to when the house was built. We looked on Angie's List and had JoCo Windows come out for an estimate. We liked Don and the price was right. Don knows what he's doing and very professional. He didn't push any of the extras or the most expensive windows, just what we needed. They replaced all of our windows along with soffit and fascia and new gutters. Bill did all of the install himself over several days. I think we got the "A" team because Bill was awesome! We liked the work so much that we had him wrap all of our exterior door trim so our house is now completely maintenance free on the exterior! No more painting for me! It looks like a new house! I would say JoCo Windows & Siding isn't the cheapest or the most expensive, but they're a quality company that sells quality products at a fair price and probably the best installers in the business! If you're looking at windows, siding, gutters, or doors, these guys should be on your list. I eventually want to replace our wooden garage doors in the next few years and you can bet I'll be calling these guys! I also like the fact that one company could do all of the work we needed done. I highly recommend this company!
Description of Work: We had all of our windows replaced, vinyl soffit and fascia installed, front porch ceiling wrapped with vinyl siding, exterior door frames wrapped with maintenance free white aluminum, and gutters replaced with the leaf guard option.
