Knowing it was going to be in investment, we saved for 7 years to replace our windows. Johnson County Siding & Windows was certainly not the cheapest estimate, but there were no hidden cost nor was there a deposit due prior to completion. Once the crew arrived (Bill & Justin) I had absolutely no doubt that they would do a good job. They were polite, deligent, and focused on getting the work done. We thought we would need to stay home from work since the house would be open, but after spending less than an hour with them felt completely confident they were ethical and trustworthy. They honored our request to keep a room and its windows closed for our cats. And each day we decided which "cat" room would work for they schedule. They started 06/30/14 till 07/02/14 then did not return until 07/08/14 finishing on 07/10/14. (everyone deserves a holiday) Positives: No cigarette butts! They cleaned up after themselves every day! Love the music playing from their radio! No loud voices or yelling! Kept the front of the house closed when they worked in the back! They took down then reinstalled all our blinds. The house is quieter and cuts the summer heat. One window sill was mared and they replaced the sill. A couple screens were loose but within 2 weeks they were replaced. Negatives: .... I would highly recommend this local family owned business.

This company stated they will not do just part of my house but will only do the siding on the whole house. As a result they will not be asked to do anything on my house.

They have been here several times. They are customer service oriented. They were amazing. They listened. There were a couple of things that we noticed afterwards and they came to check them out. Some of the screens they put in had small tears in them and they were out that afternoon to look at them. They took them and had them fixed and brought them back and put them on. We had a couple of splits in some wood. He was going to come the next day and then he called that afternoon and said that he was in the area and could drop by. He said there was no problem and he called the company. As soon as it came in I got a phone call that he would be there to fix it. They were absolutely amazing. The finished carpenter and painter did excellent work. The price was comparable to everyone else we talked to. They worked hard and were here on time. There was no lolly gagging. They were extremely courteous. We would definitely use them again and would recommend them.

They were very thorough and good people. I would recommend them. I thought they were forth right and I think they did a good job. Their customer work is outstanding.

They were great. They showed up on time, were very nice and professional and both started and finished the job on time. They did such a good job, it made it easy for us to sell our house when the time came.

I was impressed with how promptly I was contacted and the suggestions of the sales person. I really appreciated that I wasn't pushed to sign on the dotted line and when the quote was higher than what I had budgeted, they even suggested a competitor who they felt did good work who might offer a product more in line with my budget. They never once made me feel like the small job I had was too much trouble for them. I don't know what their work is like, but just based on the quote I received I was impressed with with their professionalism

We recently purchased a home and found out that the exterior wood shingle siding was covered in lead based paint and could not be salvaged. We obtained bids from three reputable siding companies. JOCO siding was slightly less expensive than the other two, but all were within a few hundred dollars of each other. We ultimately decided to go with JOCO siding based on how thorough their estimate was when compared to the other bids. Justin addressed every detail upfront from replacement of any wood rot to the type of paint that would be used after the siding was installed. He also didn't give the typical high pressure sales pitch - Justin was very knowledgable about the process and was willing to answer all questions without pushing for the sale. He originally estimated they would be able to get started in 8 weeks, but were able to fit us in after only 5. The siding installation process was as smooth as could be expected. We had a new baby at home at the time, so I was concerned about it being very noisy or messy, but Rosie and the crew were extremely accommodating. They showed up on time every morning, cleaned every day and were always really friendly - every request and question was addressed in a very nice and professional manner. Justin came to check in on the progress every day and made sure that any issues or questions we had were promptly taken care of. They did everything that they said they would and we are extremely happy with the end result. You can tell this is a family owned and operated business by the level of customer service, the quality workmanship and attention to detail that they provide. Everyone who worked on our home was very professional and accommodating, and even better, they were all extremely friendly throughout the process! We are very happy with our decision to use Johnson County Siding and I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a good, affordable and high quality company.

This company is the most professional business I have dealt with. Their presentation was beautiful but not not tiring. They promised to have work in April but yet were able to start and complete a month early. They let me know when, what, where and how and kept every commitment. The workers were exceptional. The workers worked hard, were pleasant and courteous. They paid attention to every detail. They kept me as involved as I wanted to be and I felt safe having them work around and in my home. The price was perfect for all of the work that was done and the end result was better than I could have imagined. I will and have recommended this company to friends and neighbors, and had them bid more work to be done after initial project was finished. Use this company or be sorry that you picked another because they are the best. Thank you!

I had 22 windows replaced March of 2014. I had several bids from various companies. Johnson County Siding and Window had a very competitive bid. A friend of mine had used them and I was able to see the type of work they did, so I hired them. The process was great from start to finish. There was no high pressure sales. In fact they honored the bid I received back in October 2013. The windows arrived earlier than anticipated and the job was completed long before the lead time I was told. The installers were great. They arrived each day promptly and were very professional. The workmanship on the frames of the window looks great! There was a small issue with the grids but Justin was more than happy to fix it. I highly recommend Johnson County Siding and Window. 5 Stars.

We are very pleased with how our house looks - we love it!? Justin was extremely professional and very committed to ensuring the job was finished with high quality results.? After the stone veneer was placed, we found the color wasn't what we expected.? Justin worked to ensure we had a resolution to the problem that worked for both sides and we absolutely love the results.

Having Johnson County Siding and Window provide house wrap, siding and gutter covers has been an enjoyable experience. Bill Christe listened to my requirements and provided an appropriate estimate. I had mentioned I needed someone to repair staining and re-polyurethane portions of the front door. He included it in his estimate. The workman provided a professional installation and answered questions to my satisfaction. I found that Johnson County Siding & Window provided insulation panels under a 2 foot floor extension and also provided cladding over the brick mold for the bay windows. Neither of these was previously discussed and I appreciated the workmanship. We have received several comments about the great look of the siding.

The customer service rep. was fully knowledgeable about the type of replacement we needed and hoped to get. We were so impressed that we decided to go with them at the first meeting. The company is family owned and operated so quality means a lot to them. He told us when they could do the job and that's exactly when they set it up. They did not require a deposit in advance. On the day of installation their friendly carpenter arrived on time and started right in. It was a cold, rainy, frigid day, but he diligently stayed on task and never complained. He took time to make sure every detail was done with precision. The next morning a very pleasant painter arrived and, like the carpenter, quietly did his work to perfection. We are so happy with the new door and screen, and we can really feel the difference with the recent temperature drop. We can't say enough about this company. Their competence and quality workmanship leave no room for improvement.

In Summary: The quality of the work performed and the products implemented was absolutely excellent. I am very pleased. The storm door is very high quality and I have received many complements on how heavy and rich it feels. It is so nice to be able to open my double hung windows myself without straining once again! I have double-hungs over my kitchen that I hadn't been able to open myself in years so this is great. Bill Christi was very quick to respond to all of my phone calls and questions. My only issues relate to scheduling and pre-installation product order validation. Details: On 8/6/13, I placed my order for 17 windows for the back and sides of my home, new gutters all around, and a new front storm door. This order came to $14,000 which may sound high but I have 9 very large windows on the first floor that require custom sizing and special safety glass since they are less than a foot above the floor. Additionally, the windows have a double lifetime transferable warranty which was important to me as I am considering placing my home on the market, and the storm door has a limited lifetime warranty. At the time of order placement, I was advised the window installation should be completed within 6 weeks which would be 9/17. I understand that there are a lot of factors that contribute to that date but I was advised that there was cushion in that timeframe to enable the company to better meet client expectation. I was advised 9/9 that the front storm door would be installed 9/10 but that the windows were still a week or so away. My front door frame had slightly moved outward and needed to be repaired. I was advised that the carpenter installing the door would take care of this also. There were some issues installing the storm door as my front door fixture was too deep and rubbed against the storm glass. This issue increased the overall complexity of the storm door installation. By the end of the day, my front door was repaired and the front storm door installed. I was extremely pleased with the final result. The carpenter was very skilled and thorough in his efforts. The exterior of my home was scheduled to be painted on 9/16. I needed the timing of the installation of the gutters to be performed after that. I asked the painters to pull down the existing gutters and paint the soffits, which they did. The exterior painting was completed on 9/21 and the gutter installation was started 9/23. Bill had worked with me to select gutter colors that would match the new paint colors and all came out looking great! The painters did not have the capability to haul off the old gutters which surprised Jo Co but Jo Co hauled off the old gutters with their window trash the following week. I am very pleased with the gutter outcome. Windows were delivered on 9/23 and installation started on 9/24, 7 weeks after the order was placed. There was an error in the original order and 3 windows were the wrong size Additionally, 3 screens for other windows were received as half screens instead of full screens. Delivery of the wrong size windows was not noted until after one of the windows to be replaced had already been removed. I was advised that the proper sized windows would be available the following week. It was determined that the 3 improper sized windows were the right size for the second story bay windows on the front of my home. I hadn't planned on replacing any of the windows on the front of my home but Bill offered these windows to me at 1/2 price. I accepted this offer and the 3 windows were installed on the front of my home. To keep the first and second story bay windows matching, I decided to add the 3 windows for the first story bay to the reorder of the 3 back windows. The second order covered the 3 half-price windows installed in the second story bay, 3 newly ordered large safety-glass windows for the first story bay, and also included the carpenter time to fix my front door frame and came to a total of $3,800. The installation of 14 windows on the back and sides of the house and the 3 windows in the second story bay was completed on 9/26. The remaining work to be performed were the 3 back windows, 3 first-story bay windows, and the swap out of 3 half screens with full screens. I was contacted the morning of 10/16 that the 6 windows were going to be dropped off in a few hours and installed on 10/16. I contacted Bill to advise him that I was going to be out of town 10/16-10/20. He asked if they could install the windows anyway. In order to expedite the installation, I decided to trust that the installation would proceed effectively during my absence as my son would be there evenings. I asked Bill if the full screens were being included as well and he said he was sure that they were as they had been ordered at the same time. Upon return from vacation, I noted that the windows had been effectively installed but the full screens had not. I was advised that the supplier had failed to order them and that they would be another week. They did get installed a week later. So, all in all, the requested work, plus 6 unplanned windows, was successfully completed 11 weeks after the original order. Schedule could be important when work completion deadline is firm. Originally I had hoped to place my home on the market before the holidays but have now decided to wait until after the first of the year. However, as I mentioned in my summary above, I am very pleased with the quality of the work performed and the products implemented.

The team from Johnson County Siding and Windows was very professional and thorough from the moment we met to discuss options and a bid all the way through installation and clean up. They were on time, left no mess and the windows look beautiful. I was hesitant to replace with vinyl replacements because our 1950's home had beautiful, original, wood windows, but the outcome was beautiful - better than expected, and I look forward to reaping the benefits of higher efficiency!

I contracted with Johnson County Siding and Windows for all new windows, fiber cement siding, new front doors and painting the entire house. The crew was great, they showed up on time everyday and always very polite and helpful. They also cleaned up after themselves every night. We went over everything at the beginning to make sure we were all on the same page. I wanted to make a few changes when the crew was finished and Rosie was happy to do it. Justin did a walk through with me at the end to make sure I was happy with everything which I really appreciated. Truthfully, I had no complaints at all and I think I'm pretty picky. I would recommend this company to anyone.

All the estimates I received were in the same ballpark but I decided on Johnson County Siding for several reasons: they were a family business, locally owned and operated, they were prompt to answer questions but not pushy. When I received the initial information, the gentleman was not a "salesman," but instead just gave me information about their services, products, and business practices. I was given time to discuss the decision with my husband without a "we're having a sale that ends this week" push. Their estimate was clear. When the work started, everyone was on time, worked well in the hot summer temps, and all of them could not have been more pleasant. I was happy to have them working on my home and they would be welcome here anytime. They cleaned up at the end of every day and let me know when they were leaving. I also feel that they took the time to do the job well and with quality, even though it took a couple of days longer than was expected. That showed me that they were not going to rush to finish, but were going to complete the job with the same quality of workmanship that they started with! It really pleased me to know that the entire outside of my home is completely ready for whatever the Kansas weather can throw at us! Thank you, JoCo Siding!!! Justin came to our home to provide the estimate. He was very knowledgeable about the products and the processes that would be involved in putting the siding on our home. We appreciated the time he spent with us answering questions and demonstrating some of the products they use. He also left us with excellent material to review, a list of homes in our area that we could look at for examples of their work, and a written estimate. Although we eventually chose another business to do the siding, I felt that our time with Justin was well-spent. The price quote was very close to that of the company we ended up choosing. I would not hesitate to call on this company if I needed other exterior work done.

Johnson County Siding and Windows replaced the front windows on my house. This was the first time as a homeowner that we have had to replace windows, so we were a bit nervous. Johnson County Siding's salesman, Justin was very professional and helpful in walking us through the process and answering our questions. I had my windows replaced with Marvin Casement energy efficient windows. I had some initial concerns with how they would match on the outside and how they would look on the inside. Boy, was I pleasantly surprised and delighted. The windows are a perfect match on the outside and someone would never know they had been replaced on the inside. In my study and formal dining room there is extensive crown molding. Johnson County did an incredible job replacing the crown molding. You cannot tell it had been touched. I also had considerable wood rot on the windows in the study. They repaired the wood as well. My wife and I are very pleased with the work. We also had Johnson County Siding and Windows install ProVia Spectrum storm doors on our front and back doors. The door have an invent retractable screening system. The doors really make a difference in keeping the house cool in the summer, warm in the winter, and give us the ability to slide open the panels for a cool breeze in spring and fall. We love the doors. I highly recommend Johnson County Siding and Windows for all of your window, storm door, and siding needs. They are skilled, reliable, honest, and trustworthy. They sell quality products and do quality work.

Didn't make it to step one: scheduling an appointment for an estimate with this company. I understand that often businesses can be busy, but it's no excuse for poor customer service. When I spoke with the receptionist/scheduler she was very much in a hurry on the phone and continually tried to talk over me. I didn't mind too much, understanding she may have had other calls to take. I had to put in a "wait, wait, wait" plea towards the end of the call to keep her from hanging up and to place a request. I work for a school district and this time of year when teachers and students are returning to work is insanely busy, so I was placing the call from the parking lot of a grocery store across the street from where I work. It was the only time I could take to place the call while I made a quick run to grab some lunch and take it back to my desk. My request was to pass on to the installer that would return my call that I most likely would not be able to answer his return call, and asked that my email address be passed to him so that we could establish a time for an estimate via email. The installer called later that afternoon, and of course I could not take the call at the time as I was wrapped up in a meeting. When I listened to the message it was more or less a lecture about how I needed to call the installer back because it was too much effort to try to schedule an appointment using email. I do understand that a phone call would probably be easier but the tone of the message completely turned me off and was enough for me to write this company off. I see that they get good ratings on Angie's list, and I'm sure they are earned, but if the two initial correspondences I have with a company result in making me feel like I should be catering to them, I'm not going to entertain ideas of hiring them. There were too many red flags at this point for me to even want to make the effort. That call was this past Monday, now 5 days ago, and I have not received a follow-up call and certainly no email to inquire about scheduling an estimate. I hope that anyone that uses this company receives the 'A' service that many people report, but I've had too much experience with various contractors to bother with ones that aren't willing to take the time to listen to me. I could have given them my business to replace every window in my home but the three that I've done myself, but instead now would rather replace them all myself, rather than deal with this apathy.

First of all, the quality of the door and windows against the builder spec items installed 15 years ago, can't even come close to comparison. The builder spec stuff was pure junk and I love the quality and ease of operation of the new that we chose. Justin Christie came out for a bid, discussed with us what we wanted, measured everything (several times just to be sure) then gave us quote. We accepted, got a time frame and they met it. The installers were wonderful and very meticulous about their work and cleanup every day. Each day they were on the job, Justin popped in and discussed with us and them what was going on and making sure we were happy. Overall a fabulous, no hassle experience. When we are ready to replace the balance of the windows and complete new front door, we're going back to them without even getting any other estimates. I'd recommend them in a heartbeat. Great company and people.

jo.co.siding & windows deserves another award from angie's list. honest, hard working and pleasant. everyone from the owner bill and son justin...to the siding crew rosie, nick and will...as well as the painters from savior painting & contracting co. pancho, phillip and owner jason. their estimate was in the same ballpark as the others. i chose them because of the great reviews and also felt the sincerity from bill and justin. and now that the job is done.. they even did better than i expected with no problems what so ever. their professionalism has made the front of our house look just like brand new. the fiber cement board looks like wood, blends right in. i will definitely use them again if i need any service they provide....and highly recommend them.
