+ -1 moreHome Depot installed four windows and one sliding glass door in my living and dinning rooms. While I was not pleased with their product, I was particularly disappointed with the installers. The installation was cheaply and poorly done. I had them back twice to fix obvious defects but after the follow-up visits I was still left with an unsatisfactory product. In the end I was able to correct most of their mistakes. Because of the substantial cost of these windows and door I had to do the work piecemeal. The next group of windows will not be purchased or installed by Home Depot.

+ -1 moreHome Depot's price was really good. They were willing to work with us and they priced matched with Lowe's. We found the installation price at Lowe's and took it to them after a discussion they matched it. It was half the price of installation. The responsiveness is hard to grade as I did all the leg work and then took it to them and said take it or leave it. They then decided they wanted to sell us the flooring. Once we got through the price deal everything went well.
Description of Work: Home Depot put flooring in the kitchen.

+ 2 moreI’ve had pretty good experiences with them. The only issue I’ve had was getting the work done. It was 10 days or so. Other than that I haven’t really not had any problems. I haven't had any problems with the carpet or appliances. There were cheaper lawn mowers but it was the one I thought would better suit me. I would like if it was less money but I had to go for higher price for the one that best suited me. I do think that a lot of things were pricier than other big box stores. Their prices are slightly a little bit higher for the things that I need for my home. I did not have any issues with their quality because most of the stores sold the same brand. They seem to be consistent with most of the big box stores.
Description of Work: I use Home Depot a lot. They have installed carpet and I bought my appliances from them. The last time I went there was to buy a lawn mower.

+ 1 moreFortunately, we had a measurement and printout from Lowes and that is what she used to make her estimate with. For the same EXACT type of Corian surface with identical measurements Home Depot was $1,600 more and no free sink when compared to Lowes.What was particularly irritating was that the sales associate took 2 personal phone calls while in the middle of helping us. My conclusion is that Home Depot is cutting labor costs by hiring at minimum wage and they get workers who just don't care.
Description of Work: We were comparing countertops with Lowes and a couple of local vendors. We stopped by Home Depot to see what products, colors, etc. that they had. First it took 20 minutes to find the sales associate who was a mid 30's female who was still in a conversation on her cell phone with her significant other. She supposedly worked that area and knew the materials but could not answer specific questions (like whether the granite composite was stain resistent).

+ -1 moreIt was a long day, since it was over 100 degrees and three windows were removed from the house, the air conditioning was turned off. Our home was 88 degrees inside! These guys worked hard and did a great job!
Description of Work: We recently had three large windows replaced. Two were in really bad shape so it took some time to repair damage. We ordered two picture windows and a double window - in wood. These windows were extremely heavy. The three men installing did a tremendous job in removing and installing the new windows. It was extremely hot that day (101 degrees), they got here at 10:30 am and worked until 10:00 pm!!!!! They did a great job! And yes, we would use them again and just ordered another 4 windows to be installed.

+ -1 moreIt left a very bad taste in my mouth and although I have been satisfied with HD before - it has put me off using them again.
Description of Work: I regularly use Home Depot for small home upgrades like interior doors, a new kitchen sink and a whole house water filtration system. I have to say that I was fully satisfied with those experiences. This spring, I decided to replace the western facing windows in my home. The 7 double hung units I had were cicra 1996 builders grade and frankly, terrible. I did a lot of up front comparison of brands - and finally settled on Simonton. Home Depot sold and installed this brand and so I approached them. The salesman visited my home, took measurements and gave me an estimate on the spot. As I new exactly what I wanted this was a relatively painless process for me as I didn't have to sit through some terrible sales pitch. There was no pressure to sign then and (after one more look around at the old windows) the salesman left. One week later I called this gentleman and met him at Home Depot to sign contracts. He was a little put out when I asked for an additional discount - and muttered something about his commission, before finally giving it. My little voice was starting to talk to me...something was wrong. It took another 10 days for another HD rep to come out to do a second measuring before manufacturing started. A useful precaution I thought. This nice man entered my home and immediately told me that he didn't think they could replace some of my widows. I was naturally taken aback. Apparently the stone fascia around 2 of the openings was too much for HD to handle. Its not like the stone wasn't there all along mind you. Now the fun began. Pictures were taken, experts were consulted (so they told me) and finally (after much prodding by me) I received an email from a Sales Manager that said they could not do it. Unfortunately the email he sent to me was a chain of internal HD emails about me being "high maintenance" or words to that effect. I was not happy. My HD card had been charged, I had missed out on other deals from companies that could have installed my windows properly and now I was high maintenance? To date I have not received a phone from HD offering an apology for this experience. Lesson learned: Do not use HD for Windows. Use a qualified Window installer, even if you have to order your own Windows from a distributor yourself. Or call a Window expert. HD are certainly not Window experts by any stretch of the imagination.

+ -1 moreTheir installation costs were less than other providers. There were too many people involved in the project. There were too many processes. They delivered it, and it was supposed to be put inside. The installers arrived and said that it shouldn't have been left in the garage. They moved it in and came back three days later. When they finished the job, it was discovered that the flooring hadn't been stained. I had to stain it and have it installed again.
Description of Work: They put in vinyl flooring in the kitchen and entryway of both sides of a duplex.

+ -1 moreThe installer was there on time and was able to take off the old door and put on the new door in about 60 minutes. He had some parts that were missing for the installation but he was able to call home depot and they delivered the parts to him in a about 20 minutes.
Description of Work: I purchased a new storm door from them and had one of their installers put it in. The door was $240 and installation was $100.
