The river rock that had been used for landscaping was reused on top of the dirt. Dan was prompt & friendly when we met to get a quote - very personable. Workers were also quite friendly & respectful. I would trust & recomment Gordon Energy,

The repairs went Excellent! Dave was very pleasant to work with and patience with me. He worked with we on the cost and what I needed to get done that would actually take care of the problem. The contractors that came to complete the work were friendly and explained things to me in detail so I understood what they were doing.

I called GED based upon a recommendation from a friend who had used them for service. Joe Cates was the contact person that came out to my home to explain what he thought would be best for our situation. Joe was very professional and more than willing to discuss options for our back yard, e.g., drain boxes vs. french drains. This made me feel very comfortable because I personally wanted to have a deep understanding of any work that was going to be done. Joe gave me an initial bid that I sat on for awhile as I got bids from other companies as well. Other companies that gave competitive bids were not very responsive at times, but, Joe and his team at GED were fantastic. I returned to Joe and we were able to negotiate a price of $1,500.00 for all the work -- this included labor, equipment, and parts (six drain boxes and pipe). The work was completed a couple days ago and looks great. From start to finish my interactions with the GED team was fantastic. I've yet to see the system in action during a heavy rain, but, I have little doubt that should it not perform up to standard that Joe's team would come out and take care of it. My interactions with Joe lead me to believe this is a company with integrity. EDIT -- This work was completed in the Fall of 2013. We received a couple rains in the Spring of 2014 and the drainage was not working exactly as discussed with GED. At that point I had lowered my scores for this company and made contact with GED to voice my unhappiness with the finished product. Joe Cates, my primary GED contact, came back out to my home and listened to my concerns. A few days later he contacted me via email to note that he had discussed my concerns with other senior GED co-workers, and, had a plan to come back out to my home with a crew and complete an entirely new solution. This involved removal of existing parts of the system previously installed, doing some additional dirt work, and putting in new material to get the drainage system working properly. As usual the work was prompt, well communicated, and completed on time. I'd be remiss if I failed to note that ALL of the additional work and material was complimentary -- I did not pay a single cent to get a solution in place. Final note: GED is a fantastic company. It makes me extremely happy to know there are still companies that operate with this kind of integrity. I've given them a final grade of 'A' and am pleased to note I'd be very happy to work with GED again.

Everyone from Gordon Energy was very professional and friendly. Dave Zwickel was very helpful. He spent time evaluating everything and was able to provide a quote on the spot, complete with diagrams and recommendations, no waiting for emails the next day. The work started on time and was completed ahead of schedule. I was also reimbursed for services that ended up not being necessary. This work was done as part of the resolutions for selling my home. The buyers had everything re-inspected by their engineer and were very happy with the work.

The pricing was comparable to the 3 other companies that I had estimates from. The workmen showed up on time and were very courteous and the work was completed in less than one week. In addition, they made sure to make as safe an environment as possible for my two small children, seeing as how they dug 10-12ft deep trenches around the exterior foundation of the house. Bill Row, who initially provided the estimate was at the house on the day that the lifting took place and explained everything - every step of the way. When they left, the area was cleaned up, other than the bare spots where grass used to be. I had a great experience and would use them again if I needed foundation work done.

Very professional in all contacts. Took time to review our situation and make multiple recommendations for the repair. Bid was competitive. Went with another supplier based on some additional ideas they provided and they had less travel time to our place. But, this supplier was a very close second.

An evaluation was performed, and an estimate was provided. This was for a property which I was considering purchasing. The estimator was on time, professional, and very helpful. As we did not purchase the property, I never contracted for the work.

I chose this company because they could do the work the quickest, and is highly rated on Angie?s list. The young men that showed up, I have to admit are very hard working boys. There is a disconnect between the salesman and the boys doing the work. The salesman said they would lay down a tarp in the basement and deposit the dirt there. When I went down I found the carpet ripped back and the dirt up against my bare walls. There were a few other minor examples. The man who sold us the service never checked on the guys doing the work.

I had Gordon fill a crack in my foundation. They were on time, fair priced, and professional.

All of the work was completed with care and with attention to detail. The people who did the work seemed to care about doing careful, quality work. The work sites were left in a neat condition and they cleaned up after the work was completed. All of the Gordon employees that came to work at my property or give a bid arrived on time. Everyone was very easy to work with, patient in explaining what was needed and very open to questions. I would definitely hire this company again!!!

Proposed work was only the tip of the iceberg and addressed only a small fraction of the problems. Cost estimate for this segment of the work was prohibitively high, esp.considering that quite a lot more work would obviously have been necessary.

It went well. They finished a previous job early and asked if they could start our job two days earlier than the day previously agreed upon. I was offered an additional discount for the inconvenience and I thought that was pretty incredible customer service. I was able to let them start two days earlier and it was a good thing. Due to job related set backs that Gordon was not responsible for, they ended up finishing on the original end date. The job was supposed to take two days but ended up taking four. This was not an inconvenience for me due to the fact that they explained in great detail what they had done, what they still needed to do, and why they needed more time. In our specific case, we had a ton of unexpected rock directly under our house that took much more jack hammering to break it up enough to dig. Regardless of any setbacks, the crew worked hard all day without complaint and were extremely professional. They showed up exactly when they said they would. This was a great experience from beginning to end. Joe, who came out twice for two different estimates about 6 months apart was very detailed in his description on what he believed any issues may be. Every person I interacted with from the estimate to the crew to payment to the receptionist after the job was polite and professional. On top of all of that, the price they offered was better than any other estimate we received. They were cheaper per pier and went further down in the ground before charging extra per foot. They were at 25 feet while others we got estimates for were at 15. For us it didn't matter because solid bedrock was found at 12 feet but it was nice knowing beforehand what the total would most likely be. Additionally they did not charge extra for installing the piers from the garage instead of outside which requires more work including concrete replacement after installation. We have had bad experiences in the past with various different jobs we have hired contractors for. This job was by far the best experience we have had to date. I honestly can not name one thing we were upset with and we are pretty detail oriented. We will definitely give them a call if we EVER have any foundation issues again or any unexpected leakage or cracks in our basement.

We met with three other foundation repair companies when we purchased our home. With each of these other companies, a diagnosis was made within minutes. Foundation and water issues, however, are seldom so simple and uncomplicated. Gordon Energy & Drainage was the only company that truly took its time and more than one expert to determine the causes behind the problem. They visited the property several times. They educated us. They helped us eliminate potential causes with simple measures that we could effect, first. In short, they thoroughly evaluated the issues. Never pushy. Always expert. After speaking with both Bill and Dan, my husband and I were relieved and genuinely convinced for the first time that we understood what was occurring and how to address it. Phew! In executing the work, we encountered some minor problems. The hallmark of an excellent company is not avoiding all problems, but fixing them when they arise. GED was responsive. The owner was personally on site to make sure we were completely satisfaction. We really did our homework on these issues and this company. And we couldn't be happier. This should be your first phone call. Get it diagnosed by experts, not just sales persons.

Mr. Cates was professional as well as friendly and approachable. He inspected my entire house for all the cracks that had surfaced since the last couple of years of horrible heat and no rain in our area. He sat down and informed me of all my options and gave me the number of a Structural Engineer that is independent of their company but is well recognized in our area. Mr. Cates is highly recommended by me for his educated decisions on my house as well as his friendly personality. I highly recommend this company based on my experience with Mr. Joe Cates. Professional, detailed oriented, and very approachable.

Whenever you are new to a city, finding dependable?much less SUPERIOR?home care companies is a daunting task. We pretty much threw a random dart that happened to hit on Gordon Energy, and it was one lucky throw. From the customer service, which was impeccable, to the work, which was completed as promised and on time, our experience with this company made for a great welcome to Lawrence. We were especially impressed with the crew, who?in spite of working in oppressive heat and humidity?hacked, dug and pounded their way through tree roots, limestone and Kansas clay like Supermen, not even stopping for breaks. And in spite of their amazing strength and endurance, they were respectful and had good manners, too! Plus, once the drainage work was completed, they cleaned up carefully and left our yard in perfectly tidy shape. From start to finish, this company was top-notch, and I cannot recommend them more highly.

The evaluation was very good, they were professional, and did the job well. There was just a minor issue. There is a certain part of the front where the ground slopes downwards and we wanted the drain to be a little higher in that area, but apparently there was no drain that had that kind of specifications. Other than that, everything was great.

The tech to install the sump pump showed up on time work very efficient. We stepped through the final install and suggested maintenance tips. The Gordon Drain&Energy team showed up on time and immediately got to work installing a french drain and teeing in dIown spouts and the sump pump discharge. It turned out to be quite a bit of labor but the team did not waste time. We recently had a heavy rain and I can say the basement remained dry afterwards. 3/11/2015 Basement has seen a number of heavy rains and still dry. Looks like the battery backed up pump and french drain helped

The general manager, Bill, came out to my home. We walked around the house and I showed him my concerns. My house is approximately 104 years old. He was very honest with me, which I greatly appreciated, and at this point I am not having any work done. If in the future I need to have part of a block foundation replaced I will give them a call back. It is refreshing to find a company who gives you an honest idea of what you should do. I may not need their services now but I would recommend them to friends. I can see why they are such a busy company if they treat all their patrons like they did me. Thanks, Bill.

Curtis came out to our house to inspect our basement for minor leaks that were occurring. After looking around the outside of our house and then in the basement Curtis determined that the best thing to do was to re-caulk a couple of areas. I was really appreciative that he didn't try to sell me some expensive fix just to make some money.
