After a torrential downpour, we had water seep into the perimeter of our finished basement. Dan came out the same afternoon I called and inspected inside and out to determine the cause of the problem. He quickly noted that our sump pump basin was not perforated, so water wasn't able to drain from under the foundation fast enough. He used a drill right away to perforate it several times, and the sump pump filled immediately. It finished draining in two hours! He said that would probably be enough to fix the problem, but since our house was on the market, we wanted to take it one step further to satisfy potential buyers. He evaluated the drainage system and downspouts we had in place and suggested a french drain. He gave us the estimate in sections - one french drain, another french drain, new sump pump, battery backup - all so we could inform a potential buyer and have all of the information we needed in case the buyer requested more remediation. He was prompt in coming out (on a very busy day after a storm), friendly and thorough in his evaluations, and prompt with the estimate (that evening!). He called to arrange a day for installation, called the morning they were scheduled, and followed up when they were done. The crew was polite and cleaned up everything. They made a frustrating situation much simpler and although I hope I never have to use them again, I would do so in a heartbeat! Very professional.

We left a message on their phone (Sunday) and were promptly called on Monday morning and the pump was installed before noon Monday.

Got a few estimates the week of 3/26 and decided to go with Gordon Energy & Drainage. Dan Knappen, the salesman, suggested I start with a sump pump to see if that corrects the problem instead of a drain system around the interior perimeter of the basement. Per my request, they arranged for an electrical outlet to be installed. It was installed the morning of 4/5 and Mark from Gordon Energy was here to do the sump pump installation at noon. Dan also came by the house and, along with Mark, we went over where the pump was to be installed. I asked Mark questions as the project progressed and he kindly answered all of them. He left the job site clean, no mess to pick up. Before he left, he showed me how to test the system. I found both Dan and Mark to be very professional and competent in their respective jobs.

Frankly they did better than I talked which is unusual. They showed up on time and did everything that they said they would do. Their clean up was better than I expected and I couldn't even tell that they were there after three days. It was fantastic. This is the second time I used them and I absolutely will recommend anyone to use them.

Overall fair, since installation one drain tilting will have to rework. Backfill was poor, have had to backfill a second time and can see possibly a third time is around the corner. We knew from run off situation that this "may" only take care of some of the problem. Will still need to french drain an area that is continual problem. This company referred from a landscaping bid. Trusted landscaping designer over gut feeling of using previous contractor.

I had an excellent experience from the start to the finish of this project. My interaction with several Gordon Energy staff members was pleasant and professional. An onsite inspection of my area was performed instead of an over-the-phone quote that other companies provided. They were prompt to the job site and constantly communicated status of activity during the entire process. The installation team performing the work was polite, friendly, professional, and experienced. Their positive attitudes caught my attention quick. Team oriented. I appreciated them being very cautious, careful, and considerate of the surrounding areas of my home. I would definitely recommend Gordon Energy to my friends and family.

We found Gordon Energy to be an outstanding service provider during our new construction process. They met every schedule and had consistent and transparent pricing. Everyone of their technicians were polite and knowledgeable. We met several times with Randy regarding our yard drainage and downspout drainage goals & needs. Once the drainage system was installed, our lot dried out within one day. We found Gordon Energy to be among the most dependable companies during the entire construction process - in almost every case they were at our house within one business day. We would not hesitate to recommend Gordon Energy for ay of their services and will definitely use them again should we have the need.

They first came and inspected. They suggested that the best way to diagnose my problem was to have someone pour water on the ground outside the basement wall until they created a leak. The bid on that was going to be based on how long it took to make the leak happen. The next two days were rainy and my leak reappeared. I thought I had it pinpointed so I called to ask if they could come out the next day to fix it while it was actively leaking. They said they would work me into the schedule for the next day and came out promptly that next morning. Gordon Energy was more expensive than another bid but came when I needed them to and were very efficient. I was pleased with the result.

Because it was approximately 6 months ago, I don't remember the exact cost but it was between $100 and $200, which was well below the $600-$700 quote I received from a "reputable" big name company. And while I was assured that this big company would have done a great job, I much appreciated Gordon Energy's professional evaluation and recommendation of only what needed to be done. The work was completed in a matter of hours with no disruption to my tenant. 6 months later and my tenant has not complained about any more water. Another reason I selected Gordon is that I learned they were the company Pulte Homes used for their waterproofing. And regardless of what you may think about Pulte, they should be recognized for vetting and qualifying contractors upfront on overall value provided. It should also be noted that when Pulte was in town, they offered a 5 year water intrusion warranty which further convinced me of their trust in Gordon Energy. I was very pleased with the punctuality, professionalism and honesty provided by Gordon Energy and highly recommend them.

We were very pleased with this company from the initial meeting with their representative to discuss the work until they finished the job. They were punctual and the workers were polite and did the work in a timely manner. When completed, you couldn't tell that a trench had been dug around two sides of our house. We have had trouble with storm drainage for 30+ years and standing water percolates into the ground and runs under the garage into the basement. We still get water in the basement - although not as much - but we knew going in that the french drain might not totally fix the problem. We will be back in touch with Gordon Energy to see what else we can try. The repairs to the cracks in the foundation work beautifully - we have NO water seeping in where they made the repairs. Those were done from the inside and there was no digging or mess from any of that work. Also, when they did the french drain, they had to dig up some of my day lillies which they replanted and you really couldn't tell they had been disturbed at all. GREAT PEOPLE!

Although the experience of basement repair is pretty discouraging in general, the folks at Gordon made it as painless as possible. Dan Knappen, who visited my home to give an estimate, really is the star of the show here. He explained in detail what would be done, as well as other things that might help slow the flow of groundwater seeping through our stone foundation and soaking our finished basement. He discussed options that I might consider later, even walking me through the steps to install a French drain myself. Dan was honest and forthcoming, and that's to say nothing of his estimate coming in at half that of the competition, Dry Basement. I also should mention that, when the workers hit thick rock under our home, a surprise that might have driven the price up or delayed work with another company, Dan assured me that, although it would result in a good bit more work -- including his getting involved in the dirty work -- it wouldn't drive up the price in our case. The actual work was done in about a day and a half, and although it was noisy and a pretty nasty job, the results have been terrific. Our basement is dry, and the sump pump is earning its money. Basement work is certainly not a pretty project, but when it has to be done, Gordon makes a complex and frustrating project much more manageable.

They were professional, responsive and very punctual. They communicated very well and did everything that they said they would do. They completed the work quickly. The quality of their work was very good and I was satisfied with their service.
