Express Hardwood Floors

ZERO STARS! Tons of issues and extremely disappointed after spending $5000+. We were having the floors in one room refinished, carpet removed from two rooms and refinishing the hardwood underneath, and adding new flooring to the kitchen. PROBLEM 1: When they first dropped off the new wood to acclimate, the person dropping off the wood took a chisel to my existing hardwood floor. He could not explain to me what he was doing. He ruined existing inlayed pegs in the flooring. We were told it would be fixed. They just tried to cover it up with putty (which took multiple attempts) and you can still see it. PROBLEM 2: When ripping up the existing flooring in the kitchen, they knocked two separate holes in my kitchen walls - one going behind the baseboard. PROBLEM 3: The new flooring installed in the kitchen had several spaces where the wood was cut too short and it didn't meet up by the baseboards. The cracks have been filled with putty, but I paid for wood flooring, not flooring filled with putty. PROBLEM 4: The trim nowhere matches either the refinished floors or the existing baseboards. We got a lame excuse about "lighting." They just didn't want to spend time making the trim match the floor. The contract states they are not responsible for any damages. Bruno offered to take $200 off the amount owed to cover for me finding someone to fix the walls. I refused knowing it would cost more than that. We then made a deal with Bruno where he "promised" he would send someone out the next week to fix the walls, we would withhold $500 from the payment and would then pay him the $500 once it was fixed. It has now been a month and we never heard from again despite multiple attempts. I had to hire a contractor to fix it, which cost approximately the $500. Two simple words of advice - RUN AWAY.

It went very well. Bruno was very responsive to all my questions and concerns. He went above and beyond his scope to make sure my house was ready for our move in date.

Scheduled two appointments with Bruno Oliveira and he never called to cancel or reschedule. Just never showed up both times!!!

I had recently purchased a new house in the Kansas City area and was having work performed on it remotely. It was very difficult to find a quality wood installation person and I was very skeptical about them all. I came across Express Hardwood Floors and most of the reviews were positive but there were a mix of some negative comments as well so I asked the owner, Bruno to come out and give me a quote. My real estate agent met him and he took all the measurements and sent me back a quote. His pricing was competitive and was very responsive any time I tried calling or texting Bruno so I decided to go with him. I was so happy with the work Bruno and his crew did! They came by every day early in the morning and worked all day uninstalling carpeting and tile to lay down new hardwood floors throughout our house. The finished product completely transformed my house and it looked so much better. I highly recommend using Bruno if you are looking for a wood floor guy in the Kansas City area.

I was disappointed with the service I got with Express Hardwood Floors while we were refinishing our hardwood floors. I am all about supporting local and small businesses but unfortunately, my next project will be with Home Depot endorsed contractors. However, I figured this will be helpful for the next customer. No customer service skills at all. The owner was not listening to my needs. Communicating with Bruno was very hard. From the get-go he failed to discuss the expectation from both sides. We did not even know when it was OK to get in and out of the house so we had to call and ask. We did not know that he does not prefer credit cards, or that we weren’t supposed to give the workers the garage door opener. I am not sure if it is a cultural barrier but a couple of times he told me that I frustrated him. It was really hard and stressful to work with him, so I had to let my husband deal with him. He was not able to deliver what he promised. I was told if I let them sand/stain the whole house, we were going to be able to match all the floors. After they sand the floors they told me that I need to pick dark colors to have all the floors matching. They were not finished by the planned date but we did not know so I had to request for extra vacation time at the last minute. One morning the workers did not show up at the usual time (8:00 AM) and when I called him to check if they were coming he got mad at me. He mentioned to me that he has other customers to take care of like I am someone he is doing a favor. Another thing I wanted to mention is during a phone conversation, he told me that he’d give me $200.00 break if I get the whole house done but he denied it at the end. Since I didn’t have anything in writing, I went ahead and paid the full price. Overall the work was OK but the experience was so painful that I'd not want to deal with him anymore.

I wanted hardwood floors installed and needed them to match the existing floors in our kitchen. I received 3 estimates. Bruno quickly found a supplier of the matching flooring we needed and came back with an estimate. He came out to do the measurements and was very personable and explained what would be needed to get the job done. He set up a date to install the floors right away, within the next week. His crew was punctual and cleaned up everything before they left. The floors look beautiful and I am very pleased with the way everything went. Bruno was professional and anytime I called he got back to me right away, which I appreciated.

Bruno and his team at express floors were excellent. They did the work on time, Bruno was honest and competitive with pricing and they cleaned up very well. I had a 1200 sq ft laminate job in my basement they did very well around corners,etc and they also installed for me very impressive wood stairs. Wood floors are their specialty, but they install all kinds of floors. I think this group at express floors are the best floor installers in town. If you pick something out at a store , go with these guys for installation, you will be happy you did. Very good work, these guys are the best, very professional.

My floors look Fantastic. I had a an existing golden oak finish on my old hardwood that needed to go ! Bruno and his team refinished the existing flooring and added new hardwood in my bedroom. The transition between existing floors and the new flooring is seamless. My floors have a beautiful, soft patina but no harsh shine . I would highly recommend Bruno and his team . O

Bruno did a wonderful job.they had to fix the work of another remodeling company.the coil only do so much work at a time , but they tried to work as fast as they could.the did a great job patching the holes that the other company put in the floor.

Bruno was wonderful trough ou the whole process-from initial contact trough completion of the project.he was very hands -on and made sure that the installers had everything that the needed to do the job. Excellent the team was very efficient,professional and had the job in a very short time .the results were fantastic and the details were not overlooked.Each piece was expertly cut to fit including corners, doors frames and around the fireplace.

They were fast, respectful, on time and with a great price! Our house looks great and now our floor became the first thing people notice when they get in our home. A+ service by Bruno!!!

They did a great job with our floors. I had a couple of areas on my old floors with damage and they fixed them up and you can't tell where the damage was. Everything was done in about 3 days.

Bruno and his team were fabulous! He was prompt, his crew was professional and very clean. They did everything they said they would do and we could not be happier with our floors. I will definitely recommend Bruno in the future!
