The work was top notch. The crew was punctual and very professional. Mike and his team went out of the way to make sure the house was protected from damage through the rip out process. After the work was done, Mike was not happy with it and again went the extra mile to make everything up to his standards. The final result was beautiful and has received several positive comments from friends and neighbors. I would absolutely hire Better Concrete from any future work that I may need.

I received a bid from BCC to do a 1/3 section repair of the driveway for about $3k. I thought this was too much but the owner (estimator) bragged about his work quality even indicating that when jobs have gone bad they repaired at their costs. He said this was why they were higher because of their quality work. It was getting late in the year, so I decided to go with them. The work contract is something that exempts them from just about any responsibility for anything. Read the Contract exclusions carefully as they have essentially no liability for anything that could go wrong. He asked that I mark my sprinkler heads so they would be aware of them when they did the concrete pour. I did so expecting that they would be careful to avoid any damage to the sprinkler system. Well, to my surprise 4 months later, the system doesn't work because they broke the control wiring. This is something that I will have to cover at my costs. I'm sure there are others with other stories than mine, but I've been "had," and certainly not expecting them to damage the irrigation system after being shown where it was is something that I should have been more on top of, but I was working out of town and I wasn't home during the repair. What's the takeaway? Don't trust work to being done correctly when you're out of town especially by these guys. "Exclusions- Irriation or landscaping repairs including damage to trees and tree roots from excavation" Oh, they also excluse the "Replacing soil, sod, seed or landscaping is not included in this pricing." The above are just two of the 9 exclusions. Careful who you contract with.

It was a very good experience.

It went really well. When we saw the form before cement was to be poured, we realized it was the wrong direction. But Mike was responsive and took care of the mistake immediately. We are very please with the work and the end result.

These guy's are totally professional! They came in and demoed everything in one day. On day two they hauled it all off and started the forms. The original job had no rebar or reinforcement wire in anything. When Better Concrete does a job they do it right! They drilled into the garage floor every 12 inches and drove in rebar to hold the driveway in place. The same with the stoop. All of Mikes help are hard working men. The crew poured everything in one day. They did not tear up my yard in the process! They cleaned up the job, and pulled all there forms, before leaving for the day. Mike sent Jessie by the next day to make sure nothing was missed. So thanks to Mike ,Jessie, Taylor, Brandon and Doug for a job well done.

We used them. It is beautiful! They were professional. They promote themselves as being the highest quality service provider. They are possibly more expensive than others. They were convincing in terms of technique and procedure as to why they provide the highest quality level of work. They were very easy to work with. They are expensive.

Mike Backman is a meticulous owner of Better Concrete Construction. He and his crew arrived at the said date and time and began work immediately. What impressed me the most was that Mike himself supervised the initial tearout and the pouring of the concrete the next day. He also did some of the finish work as well. They emphasize their quality and educate their clients on the differences in concrete and the proper reinforcement techniques/expansion joints to eliminate any future cracking. Overall, I was extremely pleased and would highly recommend them. The product is excellent.

Better Concrete had done a driveway for my home a while back, and when the surface started to shale off, they replaced a portion of the driveway, only to have much of the surface of the remaining original driveway peel off a few months later. I wasn't real optimistic that Better Concrete would address this problem, and had almost given up when, last week, with a forecast of warm weather, I got a call from Mike, the head of Better Concrete, saying that his company was going to completely tear out my old driveway and replace it. True to his word, the job was finished on Friday. The new driveway is beautiful, Mike and his employees who worked on the project were very professional, and I'm very pleased to say that this issue has been resolved. Not many companies would have worked this hard to help a customer after the amount of time that had passed, and I'd like to thank Mike and Better Concrete for their commitment to quality work and customer service, and thank Angie's List for providing the forum for this to be resolved.

They returned my call and came out to give an estimate within a few days of my inquiry. They were very professional and listened to my needs. The job was done quickly and professionally. Driveway looks awesome. Mike and crew very polite and professional.

They were not the cheapest, but we had went and looked at some of his other two year old drives and some of the others and his were the smoothest and best looking. So we used him because it may last longer.

The owner checked on every job before and after. He was involved with all the work. Very professional and did an excellent job. Great crew.

Professional job as far as new concrete, but since it rained immediately after they poured, some sections have dark splotches. Also spattered concrete on garage door frame, which I had to have repainted at my cost. Charged $400 for caulking, which they touted as something unique and special, turned out to be nothing more than buying some tubes of caulk from Home Depot and applying to cracks. I could have done this myself for about $20. Would hire again for concrete replacement only, but would be certain to make sure all details were clear up front.

They were not the lowest bid, but I was impressed with reports that their refrences gave on them and the detailed bid given me. They used better standard materials. They removed and replaced most of a walkway to our front door for no extra charge, because they thought it would make the connection between the walk and drive more level.

This is an update of a prior report, in which I reported that the surface of my driveway deteriorated within one to one and a half years of it being poured. I'm happy to say that the issue has been resolved. Bill of Better Concrete was very professional, and the company went to considerable expense to deliver a quality product that will give me years of service. I'm very pleased and would like to thank Better Concrete for their commitment to me as a customer.
