We so enjoyed working with John! He was punctual, professional, trustworthy, and efficient. He was very communicative and went above and beyond to set us up well with a new water heater!

Well where do I start, the other reviews are right he is a one man show and that is not good when you are given a time line that work is to be completed. He ran over on the project due to not have any help to work with him and working only 4 to 5 hour days. Then complaning later how long the project is taking him to complete but as a homeowner you have no control over his work ethic. He did some changes in design that after the finish project it proved my wife and I where right water going out onto the bathroom floor from our walk in shower because he placed a shower head facing that opening directly. Also, did not complete all work that needed to be done based on the bid, I hired an electrician to come in finish some work and also another carpenter to finish some venting. His organization of completing the work was disorganized and saved the skimming and mudding of the walls to last and then had to do it serveral times because we painted and you could still see the seams. The job looked nice when done but not to my standards so we opted not to use him for our other bathrooms in the house. He may be good for small jobs butI would not recommend him for a larger job. 4-15-13 I had to update all my fellow Angie lIst people I would recommend you run from this guy if he gives you a bid to do a job, or as he says it an estimate. A week after the job was done the new shower leaked to the basement causing damage to the sheet rock, then we he was approached about it he just said he could caulk the grout lines, which there should not be a leak anywhere it is supposed to be all new floor and everything was supposed to be sealed. He then proceeded to tell us that his 10 year warranty was null in void due to we did not re-imburse him for some of his receipts. Please understand we paid this man over what his estimate was but he wanted us to pay for his gas, lottery tickets he purchased and tools that he purchased that he should of already had for the job. Run from him.

He is awesome and he has become our go to guy for handyman type work. He is a skilled carpenter and he is a really good guy to work with. The work turned out great and I love it. He is fast and works very efficiently. He is super friendly. He is really trustworthy.

John's bid to rebuild our deck and balcony and several other interior jobs were well under other estimates we received. He offered to come back just a few days later to go over more specifics and started work immediately. He completely tore down our existing deck and balcony and rebuilt them both by himself, and the entire project was completed in just over a week. And it's beautifully done. John also replaced the sliding glass door to the new deck, and even enlarged the doorway because our older door was a smaller-than-standard size. This was an unexpected, last-minute change in plans and he did not charge us above what he originally bid, even though it was much more work. John was not only very friendly and professional, he was always punctual and showed an amazing work ethic. We will definitely be hiring him again to complete a longer list of renovations in the home, including electrical/lighting work in the kitchen and tiling our bathroom. He's a jack of all trades. I highly recommend Allison Construction.
