ALL BRANDS APPLIANCE SERVICE

I had called my home warranty company to get a work order started on my washing machine that broke down. The home warranty company said that All Brands Appliance Repair would be calling me to set up a time to come take a look at the washer. I was in a hurry to get the appointment scheduled, hoping I could get someone in the same day. I called All Brands at the number the home warranty company gave me and got voicemail. The voicemail had no message saying I had reached All Brands or the name of the person I had reached. So I hung up, thinking I had the wrong number. I looked them up on Angie's List and found a different number. I called the new number and received the same generic message with no identification. So I hung up again, unsure of what to do. I called back one more time to leave a voicemail and a man picked up and just said "hello". Again, no identification. So I asked if I had reached All Brands Appliance Repair. When he answered yes, I proceeded to explain my situation and he told me he wasn't in his office so he hadn't seen the work order come in. So he said I could talk to his secretary and told me to hang on a second. He then handed his phone off and a woman came on and said "hello?" She was pleasant enough, but again when I explained my situation, she said she wasn't in the office and would call be back when she could see the work order. She called back nearly 3 hours later and said "see! I told you I would call you back!". At this point, I was really put off by their lack of professionalism. As I talked to her again, she discovered that she had misunderstood me when I talked to her earlier and thought that I had said it was a top loading washer when I never said, I had said it was a front loading. They don't service front loading washers so she had to send it back to the home warranty company. To her credit, she did send the work order right back and the home warranty company called me back to give me the name of another company. While I don't fault All Brands for not receiving the right info from the home warranty company, I do think their professionalism on the phone was lacking. I think some minor tweaks (like recording a voicemail greeting) would improve their professionalism scores.

Not well. We got off got off to a very bad start -- I felt that his initial comments were quite insulting, and after several tries, he decided I should call someone else and left. He seemed a bit rushed, and I was, too (I run a business out of my home), which probably contributed to the miscommunication. I wasn't in the mood to be trifled with, and he didn't change his manner. We both knew we had reached an impasse. Here's what happened: When I showed him the frost in the refrigerator freezer, he made a sweeping (I thought) statement that we weren't closing the door. I mentioned that this wasn't it, because we d been checking carefully for that, after dealing with the problem for quite some time. Then he stated that he'd been doing this for 40 years and knew what he was talking about. I said, "You're arguing with me?" He didn't like that. After another similar go round, he decided I should try someone else, which was probably the best outcome at that point. We called the home warranty company and they are sending someone else. He may be very good at what he does, but I will never find out.
