Couldn't get to me for a couple of months. Showed up when he said. Cleaned out the old windows. Replaced with glass blocks. Nice fit and finish. Went a little above and beyond on arches above the windows. Cleaned up. Nice job.
Description of Work: Replaced old windows with glass blocks. Then I found a few other jobs for he and his crew.

I called James and he came right out and gave me an estimate. We had to wait for the brick/stone to arrive since it was special order. James kept in touch with me thoughout the entire project. He was able to match and fix the aesthetic stone as well as brick breakage on the exterior of the home. I was very pleased with the cost and work he did. Highly recommended.
Description of Work: He replaced esthetic stone and bricks that were cracked on the outside of the home. The house is rather large and he had to do most of the work up high on a ladder.

Great, would highly recommend! This was for my rental property, and I was out of town. He went out of his way and even took before and after pictures and sent them to me. I am THRILLED. would HIGHLY recommend! Also, great value!

We have a brick home and the work they did is perfection. The area they bricked in where the back door on the garage used to be is beautiful you have to look closely to tell the door was even there. Dave went to several places the try to match the brick and he did an amaziny job of matching. The home was built in 1954 and you can't find this brick anymore. The same can be said of all of their work. They even filled in a crack in the brick on the side of the garage. The work they performed was beautiful to say the least. I would recomend them toall who ask me about good masons.
Description of Work: Bricked in around patio door, bricked in old garage personal door and bricked in lower portion of drivein garage door.

James was responsive from start to finish. He came out when he said he would. He listened to my needs as we walked around the house and yard. At every step he explained what needed to be done and how he would tackle it. He gave me a good estimate considering the work that needed to be done. I felt confident that he was the man for the job. I explained that we had a backyard deck that was set for teardown and replacement sometime in July and that I'd like the work to be done before that if at all possible since one of the areas met the side of the deck. He said that normally he wouldn't be able to act so quickly, but that he'd do his best to fit it in to meet my timeline because of the amount of rainy weather we've had this summer. He called a few days later to say he was waiting on materials to be delivered and had time to come out, which he promptly did that same day. He made the comment that he enjoyed small jobs - a real plus for me! He brought an assistant along with all the materials needed and they went right to work. I asked if they could patch 3-4 places on the other side of the retaining wall that was on our neighbor's property and he said he would. They were done in no time and again we walked around the house and he showed me the work that had been completed. He was polite and professional. I was surprised initially at how young he looked, but he obviously is experienced at his trade. He does do work in and around Wichita, even though he lives west of town. My initial quote was $385 but because I asked him to patch a few places on my neighbor's side, he only padded his bill by $15 more dollars. I was amazed! I definitely recommend James Maass w/ Maass Masonry. He's a great go-to masonry guy!
Description of Work: James and his assistant cut/sawed out a few concrete blocks that were disintegrating, replaced with new, and patched holes as needed in a concrete retaining wall along our property line. He sealed cracks on one side of our house that had gaps in the brick as well as a back retaining wall. He sealed another area at the back of our house with a large gap between the brick and the foundation. And, lastly, he sealed a gap in one of the concrete steps on the front porch.

Maass did a great job rebuilding the porch columns on my College Hill home. As in most repairs on older homes, there were some unforeseen problems that were not in the original bid. However, he completed the smaller ones at no additional cost, just because the work needed to be done in order to do the job right. There was one major surprise in the job that could not have been known until the columns were torn down, and I thought the price for that change order was very fair. I will definitely call on Maass again.
Description of Work: Maass rebuilt a large support column on our front porch, as well as rebuilding the brick walls of the porch and reinforcing the entire structure in general. He also did a lot of tuck pointing on the four columns and other places that needed it.

I used Maass Masonry for concrete work and tub cleaning. Comments: He showed up when he said he would. He gave me an estimate. I had 3 estimates and his was the best. Later on he came over to do the work. In between he was gone for a week as he had another large project starting at the same time and before that he did the major work for me and came back later to do the small jobs and completed the work. He took all his tools away, cleaned everything up and it looked nice when he was done.

His name is James Maass and he did a great job. He was punctual. He got the work done and it came out great. His price was competitive.
Description of Work: Maass Masonry tore out and rebuilt a brick retaining wall. He also built two brick pedestals with stone caps for the posts that were replaced. He worked for Stevenson Contracting and had lined our walkway with bricks when they did that work, and I had him come back to do the retaining wall.
