My experience with Edge Pest Control is good. They always call and give you a head's up for when they're going to be out, so you can expect them. If their appointment time doesn't work, you can adjust it. They'll come in and spray too if you need them too. They are always professional and prompt. They leave you with an itemized receipt and let you know when they'll be there next.
Description of Work: We used them for pest control and extermination. They come out and spray quarterly for bugs and rodents.

I felt like the contract was not fair. Since I did not sign it, I didn't feel as though I should be held to it. They did not try to work with me, even after explaining I didn't sign the obligation. I feel as though this is not the best business practice.

A neighbor who is a friend found voles in their yard and they called EDGE pest control for service. They mentioned to EDGE that we might have voles as well as we might be interested. We were out-of-town at the time and we received a phone call from the EDGE service technician asking if we wanted a treatment for the voles. When I asked how much the treatment was the technican responded it was $119, so we agreed to go ahead and do it. What was NOT conveyed was that he was signing us up for a 1-year program with 5 service visits at $119 PER VISIT. So, that's my first complaint. However, I blame that on myself as caveat emptor; "buyer beware" and know what you're agreeing to before you agree to anything. EDGE did perform four service visits, charging me $119 each visit. They placed small black pastic traps around the yard with bait. Each trap has a metal stake in the ground to keep it in-place. Within 1-2 days after each visit, each trap had been uprooted and turned-over so that whatever bait was in it had fallen out. Wind? Rodents? I have no idea. Regardless, the value of the trap was immediately lost and $119 of my money was tossed into the wind. Last fall I took matters into my own hands and got pellets at the Grass Pad to kill voles, and it worked immediately. In April 2013, EDGE called to schedule the fifth and final visit. I called them back and kindly instructed them to cancel the visit as I was not interested in further treatments. I explained Their traps had done little to no good and I was not interested in paying for any further service. That's when EDGE informed me that there is a >>>>>>> 60% SERVICE CONTRACT EARLY TERMINATION FEE!!!! <<<<<<<. So not only is their service very poor, but they charge you if you decide to cancel. Any compnay that has to hide behind service contracts and early termination fees simply REEK of poor customer service and quality (reminds me of cell phone or cable TV providers). Their goal is to get money out of you via fees, not through the quality of their business. I agreed to pay the early termination fee as I couldn't get away from this company fast enough. I would not refer EDGE Pest Control to anyone. Caveat Emptor.
Description of Work: Exterior rodent contol for voles in my yard. Program was for 5 service visits, once every quarter. Traps set with bait around exterior of house.

Overall it's been great. Their customer service on the phone is always nice and professional. The technician's work is always thorough. I always chat with them about the termites and voles' situation around our house. They are very knowledgeable and patient. They gave me quite a lot of good advice. I would recommend them to friends.
Description of Work: I signed a two year contract to use their service every quarter. They also came several times when I called for additional treatments with no charge.

I am very disappointed in Edge Pest Control. I signed up when a young man came to my door. They do not guarantee against termites (which can be a problem in the Overland Park area). I signed a contract and at no time did the young man verbally mention that it was a two year contract and if you try to terminate it you have to pay a large percentage of the remaining two year services. I called the head office and spoke to the person in charge to see if I could cancel the contract. He was rude and uncooperative. Beware if you are signing up with this company.

You might be thinking this is coming a little too late – I absolutely agree with you. You may wonder, why now, after all this time, why not just let it go and move on? Because we are truly trying to improve, we genuinely want to take better care of our customers, past and present. Apologizing for our mistakes is part of that process. When Edge started in 2009, there were just four guys, a truck, a warehouse, and a handful of customers. We didn’t even have chairs to sit on, just boxes of pest control products. In five short years, we grew faster than expected to five branches and thousands of customers. Along the way, we had some growing pains. We made mistakes and have had to learn from them. While we wish that we never messed up in the first place, we wanted to apologize and thank you for helping us have a learning moment. I wanted to let you know some of the recent changes we have made at Edge to better take care of our customers. We have completely overhauled our customer care program. I was recently hired to oversee all customer relations and to ensure we are truly taking care of each customer. We have overhauled our sales training and our service training. This training now includes training manuals, extensive training videos, and quizzes to determine that the employee meets the gold standard that our valued customers and potential customers deserve. . There was no smell! They found 4 wasp nests around my front door, up under the eaves, and took them down They showed me the tent spiderwebs in my lawn, and sprayed for them.The technician was very professional and friendly.I really liked them. He even gave me a map of my house, showing where the problem areas were, and where they sprayed. If you don't use these guys, you are missing out!

If there is any trouble in between visits, they come out, and there is no charge. They are really good, and friendly. I think their prices are reasonable. I definitely will continue to use Edge Pest Control.

They come out every three months. I have not had seen any activitie yet. We had moles since last year, and it was really bad. It appears that the moles are gone in my area. My neighbor could still have them. Some of the animals have gotten sick from the traps, and I know that it is not Edge's fault. They poison them and then the animals eat them. So, there has been a lot of backlash from poisoning the moles. My concern is that we are poisoning the food chain.
