Craig and his crew did a good job. They successfully redirected the water away from my house, which is what I wanted done. They remediated my basement leakage issues for a fraction of the cost I thought it might be, so I am happy. They also came in within their quote, which was good.

I contacted Craig Zogleman for our backyard landscape project in April from my research on Angie's list. We had our initial consultation in which we discussed what I expected for my landscape and he conveyed that he could do the work. I will tell you that I am a very particular person and I expect things done a certain way and he exceeded my expectations. We had many delays due to the weather- but Craig kept me on his schedule. I was concerned about the 'tracking' in my yard that may occur with the heavy amounts of stone, rock, and fill dirt brought in- but he and his crew did a spectacular job in keeping that at a minimum, so much so that I could hardy tell they were in my yard! He finished up in July- much later than I had planned but it couldn't be helped due to the weather delays and I am extremely happy with the results and I would highly recommend Craig as he is a first class person. He communicated with me by email mainly, which worked out fine. He did exactly what I wanted and I can't be more pleased. Craig has an exceptional work ethic- a rarity these days!

Not well, the owner had very poor communication skills! I called to arrange an appointment and never heard back from any personal of the company. Then two weeks after that call, the owner (Craig) and two employees randomly showed up with their equipment. They just started work in my backyard without confirmation that I still needed/ or wanted the work completed. I was alerted to this, by the loud noise of machinery. I looked out my window and saw a huge tractor in my backyard. I went outside immediately and spoke with Craig asking why he was here? Craig reminded me that I had left a message for the work to be completed. I reminded him I never heard back from anyone and no longer needed the services. They then proceeded to load up all of thier equipment. The whole situation was very unprofessional and bizarre!

It went good. He did a good job for a good price. I would definitely go with him again.

Everything went great, arrived when promised. performed the work they said they would.

The grade was done well given what the contractor had to work with. Due to erosion, the side yards where somewhat washed out. I asked about filling it in with a few loads of top soil, but the grading contractor blew me off a bit saying, "That should have been done before the sprinkler system was installed." While this may be the case, I think they should have let me know this before I installed the sprinkler system. I had called in advance of the sprinkler system installation to get advice as to how to prepare the property for a sprinkler system and sod. It seems to me this would have been the time to advise me to have additional soil delivered to the property to fill in the erosion on the side yards. But, I was not advised of this. So, while they did a good job grading the property as it was, I would have appreciated more advice in prepping the place before the contractor came.

They gave us a price upfront and that's what they did it for. They were very efficient. It took them about a week. The weather was cold and nasty. There were a couple of days that they couldn't do anything because it was too cold. It looks really nice. We've had a lot of compliments on it. They seemed very reliable and very trustworthy. Their pricing was very reasonable. They came as soon as they were available and they got us appraised of what their schedule was. We didn't have any problems with them. They came about a week that they told us they would come.

Their work went very well. We talked to them and we were impressed.

1. No one answers the phone. I waited for at least 2-3 days before my calls were returned. The time scheduled for initial visit was missed. I had taken half day off from work and the owner of Zoglman forgot about the appointment. 2. Quality of work: I was initially contended with the quality of work they did. After few months I saw the water accumulation in my yard. Openings of the pipes they dug underground for down sprout drainage were poor quality plastic, they started breaking away. Very hard to clean them with leaves accumulation in the openings. 3. I got another quote for the same work done by Zoglman and I was quoted $550.

Work was completed as agreed upon.

I was very happy with Mr. Zoglman's services. My large garden bed had a lot of problems - overgrown bushes, shrubs that weren't suited to their location, drainage issues, and a terribly invasive plant that was taking over a third of the bed and starting to creep out into the lawn. Mr. Zoglman discussed solutions with me and came up with some cost effective ideas to improve the bed. He trimmed back the overgrown shrubs, removed the shrubs that weren't thriving and replaced them with shrubs more suited to the location and successfully removed the invasive plant even though it was so tenacious he had to come back 3 times to finally kill it. He was very careful to preserve as many of the surrounding plants as possible. He also replaced the mulch in the bed, added decorative rock in the area that has drainage problems and cleaned up the brick border. This bed was originally designed and installed by a well known local nursery, but I have been much happier with Mr. Zoglman's services. He was professional, knowledgeable, helpful and a pleasure to work with throughout the process.

Craig is very good- very responsive. The new landscape looks very chic. He added a bit of hardscape to our flowerbeds-very nice touch. The only negative would be that atleast 8 plants he put in didnt make it to spring of 2013. But he replaced them all without any fuss. He's a bit expensive but its very professional job. Our neighbors commented on how good our yard looked.

They did a really good job, they came out when I was out of town and trimmed my wisteria vines that was growing on my deck. I came home and they did exactly want I wanted them to do.

Outstanding job, cut the sod to perfectly fit yard. Afterwards you could barely tell that the section was replaced.

They responded in giving me a quote that is always good. They were prompt in coming out. The only thing that I did not like is that they did not go into a lot of detail of what they were doing and that did not look like they measured right in depth to get a correct amount.

Overall very satisfied. The backyard no longer holds water even with having watered in fescue seed this fall, crawlspace no longer dampens during rainfall, and northside of house seems at this time to be keeping water away from basement.

Craig and his crew were very professional and punctual. Communication was very good and quality was good. It was not as not an easy job as some of the foundation dirt and rock had to go under an existing deck in the back yard. Also I asked about the buried gutter drain at the last minute and he had it installed the next day. He was very knowledgeable and was a hard worker as was his crew. What impressed me about Zoglman Grade & Seed was the fact that they were one of the only landscape contractors that still till the yard before planting for a proper seed bed. I called at least 5 different landscape companies and they all wanted to either verticut or hydroseed a new lawn. I would definitely use them again. Also Craig is one of the few owners that come out and work with his crew. I have been disappointed in the past when an owner came out for a bid and then you never seen them again and thier crew shows up and there are language barriers etc.

Craig was very knowledgeable on grading and drainage. He did a very good job on the landscaping, grading, drainage system, and seeding. He was responsive and went the extra mile. We had a sprinkler head that was broken after the lawn was seeded and he came out to our house at 9 o'clock at night to fix it.

This company was very professional as far as keeping us posted about when the work would be completed. Mr. Zoglman answers his own phone most of the time, and if you need to leave a message he returns calls within a reasonable time. His knowledge of plants is very good and I liked his ideas for replacement plantings. He bought good quality replacement plants of a decent size. My only negative comment would be concerning the drip watering lines. I could tell this was something he didn't do very often, as there were a few minor corrections my husband and I had to do afterwards. But, in his defense, I asked him to refurbish my old system, rather than installing a completely new drip system. We plan on using this company for two or three more projects this summer. He also said that he could do monthly "maintenance weeding at an hourly rate if need be. The only reason I didn't rate this company an "A" on price is just because it seemed about $500 too high, but I'm just guessing. If I had gotten other estimates for this work, then I would know whether his price was reasonable. But since I was in a hurry to get my spring cleanup finished, I was willing to pay the price.

When it rained water sat on our foundation instead of draining away from the house. With the removal of the sidewalk, additional drainage and dirt the water now stays away from the house. They were polite and worked hard. They got the job done in one day. Due to the work they were doing (only digging with shovels) they didn't have us call CAnDig. This proved to be a problem when they put their shovel through our cable line. They however immediately went out and got the proper material needed to fix the problem. I would suggest having Can Dig flag your yard even if the company doesn't request it. Aside from that one issue, I was very happy with their work.

I use him quite often and he is very good. They do heavy landscaping stuff for me and the last bill was for $1200. They built me walls a new dam up against it to keep the creeps from coming in. They plant grass, do landscaping and they do just about anything you can imagine. They move thrush. When I call him he always shows up on time and he is here every time he says he will be there. If he isn’t going to be here then he would call and let me know why he is being held up. They do the job really quickly and they get it done. It is usually exactly how I want it. They also build patios and they do just about anything.
