The estimate was hassle free- no haggling or high pressure sales, just a fair price. I particularly appreciated the clearly annotated and easy to understand quote. John (the owner) was immediately responsive to my emails. He was involved throughout the process and was genuinely concerned that we should be completely satisfied with the installation. He promptly dealt with a couple of minor issues that came up. The installation crew was efficient and respectful. This was a stress free experience and we are very pleased with our new windows.

John and his crews were professional and courteous. The windows are of high quality and were installed with care at a reasonable price. The wrap on the fascia looks great as well. Communication throughout the process of quoting, scheduling and completing the job was good.

I could not be happier with the windows and service we got from Zen. I wish all of our projects could go this smoothly! After emailing for an estimate, John Sims (the owner) replied within a few hours and made an appointment for the next day. He arrived on time. took a look at what we needed and gave us price estimates. He sent the full estimates via email that evening. No high pressure sales, no pushing for more than we asked for. It was great! After deciding which options we wanted, we emailed the signed contracts back to him the next day. The following day George called to make an appointment to come out and measure. Again George arrived on time, was quite courteous, and asked several questions to make sure he understood exactly what we were wanting. He advised (As John had before him) that they would order the windows, it usually took 3-4 weeks for them to arrive from the factory, then they would call to arrange for an install. Just exactly as they had said, about 3 1/2 weeks later John called to set up a day for the installation. On the agreed upon day, the installers arrived right on time. They were efficient, polite and very tidy, sweeping and vacuuming up every bit of debris. They arrived at 9am and were finished with the job, completely cleaned up and out of here by I think 3pm. John came out personally during the install to make sure everything was going well, answer any questions we might have, and to give us the warranty paperwork for our new windows and door. We absolutely love our new windows and door, and plan to go ahead and do the rest of the house in the near future. We will certainly call Zen again, when we are ready. Again, I wish dealing with all sales people and service contractors could be this easy, low key, and stress free. I would recommend Zen wholeheartedly to anyone considering new windows or doors.

I didn't like the first suggestion for the bigger window, so John came up with one I liked better, and it looks very nice. The installer was prompt, did a careful job and cleaned up afterward. We had previously bought 2 double hung windows and are happy with those also.

Very efficiently. All items are made to spec, and there was a snafu with the front door, the company manufactured our custom order to a wider width, but in the end, they rush re-made it, and everything was installed and completed within two weeks, and installation took place the day the correct door arrived. John is salt-of-the-earth, a pleasure to work with, and does business the old-fashioned way: making sure the customer is completely happy. Plus he doesn't pressure you or use silly salesperson tactics, he just shows you your options, gives you a very fair bid, and he came by all three days of installation to check on things and to check in with me. (Two days for the window and one door, the third day for the corrected door.) Once you have efficient, quality windows and doors, you'll marvel at how you made-do for so long without them! Our savings should begin with this winter's heating bill, which makes the investment worthwhile. He also waited to be paid until the entire job was done, that's how dedicated he is to customer satisfaction. If only all businesses had similar priorities! As for the photos - the windows replaced are on the left; the windows on either side of the door are original to the house; based on my great experience, I expect we'll replace those two large spaces with picture windows in 2017!

After soliciting quotes from numerous other window installers, we heard about Zen Windows and submitted a request using their easy online system form. Within an hour or so the owner, John, contacted us. Without wasting our time with a 2-hour consultation, John stopped in for 15-30 minutes to talk about our needs and explain the windows and warrantees he offers. Having been shown a sample window, I was shocked to see the incredibly low price estimate (relative to the other quotes I had received). We hired Zen for the job and because of the low estimate we decided to replace all 26 windows. Within a day or two, a crew of two men came over and precisely measured our windows. They submitted our order for manufacturing and about four weeks later the windows were ready. That same week, a crew of four men came and installed all 26 windows within 1 and a 1/2 work days. On the first day they worked from 9am-4pm and on the second day, they worked from 8am to 12pm. Two of the men seemed like licensed professionals, the other two appeared to be apprentices that ensured the odd jobs were taken care of while the experts did the difficult work. The crew worked very efficiently, neatly, and held themselves to a high professional standard. I could not be more impressed with the personnel, the supervision, and the results (especially considering the price we paid)! Overall, I would hire these Zen Windows in a heartbeat. I strongly recommend them to anyone looking to have their windows replaced!

The job went great. It took two days to complete the job..one to put in the new windows and they removed the storm windows on the second day. When they removed the storm windows, the paint on the window trim came off. John had his team paint the trim on all the windows impacted. The new windows look great and the install went smoothly. John's team showed up on time and John stopped by a couple times each day to see how things were progressing. I would definitely recommend Zen Windows to anyone looking for new windows. No long, drawn out sales pitch.

We had a very positive experience with Zen Windows. John Sims, the owner, was extremely responsive and thorough. The quote was more than reasonable, especially considering the amount of wood rot we had on our home. The installation took two days instead of the expected one, but the job and clean up was done well and the installers were very polite and respectful of our home. John helped us maximize our savings through energy rebates, providing us with paperwork and information about the steps we needed to take. We would happily recommend Zen Windows to anyone needing this service.

Just like their website says. . .this is the easiest way to buy windows. They were punctual in coming out to measure the windows. Installed the windows a few weeks later. We didn't replace all our windows this time. We will be using Zen Windows again.

I can't say enough good things about this company. Its evident the owner & his crews take pride in their work. They replaced all of the windows in my 60+ year old house with triple insulated thermal windows. They arrived early, moved everything & replaced back exactly where I had it, cleaned up, hauled all my old windows away & we're done in less than 3 hours. The owner went the extra mile to insure I knew how to get the energy rebate from KCPL. I'm delighted the owner is a Marine Vietnam Combat Veteran, his integrity speaks for itself. Highly recommend & would give more than 5 stars.

The work was done by George, the installer and his helper. Critical wood portions of the frames were replaced with vinyl materials and a high quality sealant was used at all the junctures. Due to the unexpected metalwork, the final bill was higher than the original estimate, but John Sims and I had agreed to the necessary adjustments.

Everything was done thoroughly and professionally. Service crew was prompt and worked quickly but with attention to detail. Clearly they took pride in the work. Will definitely hire in the future for any door and window needs.

My wife and I were so impressed with John and his team from the presentation to the installation. John is a man with high integrity and would definitely recommended his company to anyone.

John was extremely professional and was very quick to respond to any questions or concerns that we had. Also, George, the employee who installed the windows, was delightful to work with and did an excellent job with install and placing interior/exterior trim on a new window to match the rest of the home. John and his team made getting new windows on an old Plaza home a breeze. I would highly recommend Zen Windows and will be using them again for any future needs.

Great, prompt, attentive service. John came out immediately when we inquired about windows and got us an estimate within the next few days. It took us a year before we re-inquired about the original estimate. John again responded immediately and helped us work out the details. Within a month we had brand new windows! His crew was great. They installed everything, cleaned up and were done in a day and a half. Would recommend to anyone.

They were excellent in all aspects, workmanship was superb and the quality of doors and windows were better than we expected. They were courteous and professional and even had a good sense of humor. They were the kind of people you would have over for a meal. just great people. They removed all the old windows cleaned up everything when they were done and took great care for our belongings in the house when they worked. When we contracted them the time line for the work to be done was quicker than we thought it would be and they delivered on time. The owner, John came by just to make sure we were happy with the work and with the doors and windows.

Contractor did a very professional job. I could not have been happier. I had clear glass, which was so annoying in the bathroom. I would not hesitate to recommend Zen Windows highly. I will grade him 5 star rating

Did price comparison, and there's was much less expensive than the big name brands. They had been recommended by a friend. John was very thorough with no high pressure sales, and oversaw the project all the way through. The workers were all very polite, asked questions, thorough, and were amazing at their clean-up and putting things back in place. Very pleasant experience overall. Would highly recommend them to others!!

They were on time, very professional, and worked very quickly to install all the windows and repairs needed. They did an excellent job with zero issues. They also are very attentive to any requests we had and made them if we wanted.

I was a general contractor for 33 years and retired from the industry. My wife and I were ready to sell our home and downsize and needed to take care of some deferred maintenance items which included replacing some thermal windows that had lost their seal. Several of our neighbors had used John Simms and Zen Widows and spoke very highly of them. We contacted John, and to make a long story short, had an absolutely incredible experience with his company. John was professional, knowledgeable, very competitive and true to his word. The installation job went perfect and the quality of the windows exceeded my expectations! The workmen were punctual, neatly dressed, polite and top shelf craftsmen. I am very critical of product and workmanship after a career in the business and was very, very impressed. If a homeowner wants or needs any window work done I would encourage anyone to contract with John Simms and Zen Windows. I am sure their expectations will be exceeded.

Called them on a Wednesday morning. A woman answered and took down my info saying John would contact me. Got a form letter through email from John that evening with an introduction to Zen Windows. No other communication from them by Friday afternoon so I replied back to John's email with what I was looking for and provided window measurements. John replied back on Saturday morning with a question before stating he would be happy to give me an estimate. I promptly answered his question. Did not hear anything from him the rest of the weekend. On Monday afternoon, I emailed John asking him if he needed more info to prepare my quote. He emails me back 30 minutes later stating he is on vacation and asks if it's ok to get back to me with the estimate the following weekend. I'm slightly annoyed but not in a huge rush so I tell him that's fine. Weekend comes and goes without any communication. I gave up on Zen Windows since it was like pulling teeth to get any communication. I was the one that had to initiate every email and even then, after 2+ weeks, I never received a quote that they say takes 5 minutes. Maybe their windows and service are good but I don't know. Zen Windows never even gave me a chance to consider them.
