I have used Bill on two previous occasions, and he is absolutely my go-to HVAC guy. In this case it was something very simple, but I'm getting too old and imobile to get out and do my own investigating. On a very hot day, our air conditioning went out. We didn't notice the heat buildup until late in the day. I believe it was around six in the evening when I called him. I think, in fact, that it rang through to his house. I told him I thought we could survive until next morning, but he jumped in his truck and was at our place in 15 minutes. He found that the thermal overload on the fan had tripped because of grass clippings and other junk plastered to the cage. He used my hose to clean it off real well, and it has run fine since then. What her charged me seems barely enough to cover the drive here and back.

After getting a shockingly high power bill, I discovered that the furnace and air conditioning were running simultaneously. I suspected that the problem might lie in the new thermostat, which I had installed myself. Bill came over on virtually a moment's notice, checked out the thermostat and wiring, and then redid the connections to the thermostat itself. It seems that my clumsy aging finders and my declining eyesight sabotaged my work on the small connectors. He had to have been here for at least an hour. I consider his labor charges to have been miniscule. Bill saved me from being cheated out of a small fortune by Neal Harris the first time I had him out. He's now my go-to HVAC guy.
Description of Work: Fix short in thermostat.

I purchased a top-of-the-line Lennox A/C and furnace from Neal Harris about 15 years ago. I have been happy with the system and with the service I have gotten, up until now. Yesterday the furnace quit working. I called NH in the late evening. The tech got here within a couple hours, ahead of schedule. He opened the furnace, took some electrical readings, drained some water, and told me that I needed a new inducer motor, $661.00, and a new pressure switch, $308.00, but then he said that it would be wasting the money to put it in such an old system. He left without doing any more than promising that a salesman would call me the next morning. He charged me $99.00. I decided to get a second opinion, so I called Temp Masters. When I told him what system I had, he said I definitely don't need a new furnace because the old one was a and quot;Cadillacand quot; unit. He quoted me $408.00 for price and labor to replace the two parts I thought I needed. He ran down to a Lennox distributor to pick up the parts, and came straight to my house. He fiddled with the furnace for a few minutes, then told me that all it needed was to blow some gunk out of the drain line, which he did in about five seconds. He's going to hold onto the parts for a few days before returning them, just in case, but the furnace is working perfectly, and he charged me NOTHING! This is a small businessman who answers his own phone and does honest work. He will be getting all my HVAC work from now on.
Description of Work: Repaired non-functioning furnace.

My furnace quit working around 9pm and I contacted my home warranty company by 9:15pm to request service. They told me that I would be contacted by a and quot;priority providerand quot; within 24 hours - being Temp Masters. They gave me Temp Masters number and of course I called them at 9:30pm just to see if they could get here any time tonight. I got a voice mail and left a message. Just 10 minutes later, I received a phone call from Bill Johnson, owner of Temp Masters. I explained the situation and asked when he thought he could check it out, to which he responded that he could be here in 20 minutes! Yeah! He arrived by 10pm and has just now left with fixing my furnace and my heat is working all before 10:30pm. He explained to me the problem and gave me tips on ways to efficiently heat and cool my house during the different seasons. I can not thank Bill enough for being so fast to get here and to be able to get my heat back on ... all before the nightly news was even over! Thank you!!

Excellent.
Description of Work: Our 25 year old furnace in our "new" home started making an awful racket at 3:00 a.m.and we had to turn it off. We called Old Repuplic Home Warranty Company at 7:00 a.m. They had Bill Johnson of Temp Masters here by 10:30 a.m. He knew exactly where to find the Carrier fan motor we needed and also showed my husband a coroding flue pipe with holes that had been forcing carbon monoxide to our second story. Our carbon monxoide detector, with fresh battery installed July 27, in the stairwell from the basement, had not gone off. He left for parts and returned promptly, replacing both by 12:00 noon under the home warranty. Our only cost was the deductible. We had already had a throrough home inspection in June, before purchase, and another computer board replacement by a different company sent by the home warranty company in July. Both missed the holes in the flue pipe, which is of serious concern. We highly recommend Bill Johnson for his concern for our welfare and prompt attention. We are taking his advice to purchase plug-in carbon monoxide detectors for each floor.
