I was pleased with their work. We had some water damage in our basement when our sump pump over flowed. They came in and repaired the pump and fixed all the damage done.

The initial mitigation of the damage from the hot water heater failure went well. This review is solely based on my experience with the construction division of this company after the dry out was completed. Once we were dried out, no one contacted us from the repairs division about the reconstruction even though it was implied that they would put everything back together. We called about a week after dry out and requested a bid for repairs. We had an appointment with John 11:00 am the next day. We waited and he did not show up, there were no calls to say why he was so late or not coming at all. When I make an appointment I expect all parties to be prompt and communicative about any delays, I don't think this is too much to ask. My time is valuable. We had to call him to see why he did not show and he said he got stuck at a fire and could come by 1:00 pm, 2 hours later than originally planned. He came at 1:00 that day and gave us the bid within the week. There were some things missing and it took over a 1 1/2 weeks to get the revised estimate on a few simple things. Once we did receive the estimate and agreed on everything, a crew chief, Brain, was supposed to call within 2-3 days to get things scheduled. When no one called by the end of the week we called John to let him know that we had not heard from them yet. He said that he would tell them again that we needed to be contacted. 1 1/2 week later and no one has called to schedule repairs. On his initial visit, John noticed a smell of "mold". I don't smell anything, but he has been trained in these situations. He said it could be from the carpet under the cabinets and that it would be addressed at the time of demo if there was any damage to the carpet. In my opinion, this should have been a priority to get started because of the possible issue under the cabinets as to avoid any further damages/costs. They did eventually call over 2 weeks after originally promised. We told them we no longer needed their services because of the lack of communication.

Although Service Master does not treat for termites, Mr. Cox walked around the entire house to help us ascertain the extent of the damage. He also told us what kind of treatment he would choose. After that we called American Pest Company (A+ service as well).

Not well -- they were still tearing out drywall in wet areas I pointed out 4 days after they first started (which was 34 hours after I had first called them)

There was a lot of flooding in my local area so it was really difficult to get through to them as far as trying to make arrangements so I did have to go with another company but they did try to follow up with me and then the other company that I went with ended up contracting them out but they ended up in my house anyway. So, I used ServiceMaster Catastrophe indirectly. I didn't have any problem with them. They came when they did and they came in fast. They were done 2 days later. It's pretty quick and efficient. I hope that I don't need to use them again but if I have a need to, I would.

What I had done was not an advertised service. The people that came to work in the house were friendly, respectful, and worked hard. They did a good job. The service worked for me. I would say they got rid of 90% of the smoke in my home. The price was reasonable. Everyone was really wonderful, but the owner was a big jerk to me. He has terrible manners. He was rude during the process of giving me the quote. I guess I didn't realize that he didn't really want to do the job. He told me that If they did this job for me, to not ever call him again. He could have told me that he just didn't want to do the job. If I needed the job done again, I would try to contact them because they did a good job.

Went well with no complaints.

I liked everything about him. He was very professional, very organized and very good communication skills. He was there when I called him. His responsiveness was perfect because every time I called him, he answered the phone. He was very punctual.

They were the only company appeared to do the job. My impression was, they were great. They arrived, when they said they would. They did a great job with cleaning. They cleaned up after themselves, and there was no mess left behind. They did exactly what they said they would do. I was very happy with the result. Their price was better than the other company price. They did better work than I would have got.

Due to the storm in our area on July 11,2010, lightening struck the utility pole in our backyard and knocked out the power to our house. Our basement sump pump was unable to function, so we had about two feet of water. Everything was ruined. We lost all of our furniture including the carpet. About 2 feet of our walls in every room had to be cut off from the bottom because of mold damage.

They did a good job. They were under a lot of pressure because a lot of the houses were flooded at that time. So they were moving pretty fast. The price was covered by insurance and it was about $3900. They sanitized and pulled the carpets. They removed 6 inches of drywall, brought in the fans and also cleaned up everything. They really worked hard. I didn’t pay a lot of attention to the cost since it was paid by my insurance company. They were very professional and excellent. It took a couple of days for them to respond but they were pretty quick. We got a hold of them before other people could. Our insurance company recommended them. They were punctual once we had an appointment with them. I would use their services in the future too.

During the initial phone call, he said it sounded like a $125-200 job. The estimate was $558. I decided not to hire them based on two unprofessional items. (1) I asked and he agreed to call before he arrived so that I could round up and sequester my two yappy dogs. He didn't. I had to ask him to wait on the porch while a friend and I corralled the dogs. We're both disabled and it was not a nice experience. (2) After he departed, I found he had left the basement door open and light on. My dogs spent 45 minutes down there slopping through filthy water and getting into who knows what. I will have to bathe them. This is very difficult for me physically. Mr. Cox called with his bid, at which time I told him I would use another company, since I didn't think I could rely on him, based on the thoughtlessness he had already displayed. Now I have the pleasure of going through another visit and estimate. I hope the next person is more professional!

They are a smaller operation. They are good about getting me multiple bids. I usually tell them upfront that I need multiple bids. They have been very timely in getting me the bids and very complete and thorough. They do a good job and are professional.

Had difficulty getting in touch with them when the problem occurred. Ended up taking days. When I did manage to reach them, they came out the same day. The estimate for the work involved seemed a bit much ($420 for an hour or two of work?), but I'm not sure that anyone else would have been much cheaper. I will say that the guys who came out to provide the estimate -- Charlie and Ray -- were both knowledgeable and professional. I'd work with them again if I could be sure I could get them in a timely fashion.

An emergency situation is not when you want to be looking for contractors. So I'm not sure I'd have chosen Servicemaster if I'd have had more time to look around. It wasn't a terrible experience, but it could've been better. No one could give me an exact estimate before the work started, only a range. They kept telling us that only a certain person at the company could quote a price, and he could not be reached. We called him a few times in the succeeding days and still could not reach him. It wasn't until he came to pick up the equipment that we got a price. As one might expect, it was on the high side of the range we were given. The work was done decently. I just wish the service aspect would've been handled a bit better.

They bid $150.00 on the phone and only charge $105.00. They were really outstanding.

I RECEIVED EXCELLENT PHONE INSTRUCTIONS FROM LYNNETT ON HOW TO CLEAN UP THE MESS AND AVOID ADDITIONAL LOSS. SHE ALSO ALERTED ME TO THE OVERTIME CHARGES THAT WOULD OCCUR IF THE CREW CAME TO MY HOUSE AFTER 5:00 PM. KEVIN POTENZIANI CALLED THAT EVENING AND COVERED WHAT I NEEDED TO DO WITH WATER REMOVAL AND USING FANS TO DRY OUT THE CARPET. HE CAME THE NEXT DAY TO ESTIMATE THE DAMAGE AND SPRAY DOWN THE DAMP AREA TO AVOID MOLD. THEY HAD PROVIDED SUCH GOOD INSTRUCTIONS THAT HE SPRAYED THE AREA AND CHARGED ME NOTHING. WHAT A BIG SURPRISE. I WAS THRILLED!!!!! LYNNETT AND KEVIN'S PHONE INSTRUCTIONS SAVED MY BACON. THIS WAS A REAL MESS AND THEIR RESPONSE HELPED ME AVOID A LARGE LOSS. GREAT WORK BY THESE TWO.

THEY WERE A BIT DELAYED IN RESPONDING, BUT THEY DID THEIR BEST BECAUSE MANY BASEMENTS FLOODED WHEN OURS DID. WHEN THEY GOT HERE, THEY WERE WONDERFUL. THEY GAVE US GREAT HELP.
