Ryan Electric

I was very pleased with the service and professionalism of Ryan Electric from start to finish. Matt worked closely with KCPL to insure the minimum interruption in electricity to install the slip collar. I was amazed how quickly he finished the job. He also did a great job installing new light fixtures on the inside of the house today. Efficient with time and good clean up. I would definitely use again in the future and recommend to others.

Pat, the owner, did the work himself, and he did a super job.

We only had a couple of days before this was going to happen when i called them. They were a lot cheaper than everyone else and they were able to complete the work on time when everyone else said it couldn't be done in the short amount of time that we had. They worked very quickly and were always in contact with me keeping me up to date every step of the way.

In 19 years of home ownership across now 5 states, this was the least professional electrician I have ever seen in my home. I called requesting a whole house electrical inspection with a detailed estimate of needed repairs for a home on which I have a contract to purchase. To Mr. Ryan's credit, his scheduler was able to book my appointment within the week and he was punctual. My Ryan also seemed to be experienced in an electrician's duties, explaining tasks that would be needed as he proceeded. He also seemed to be sensitive to cost control. Unfortunately the good news ends there. Mr. Ryan initiated our visit by asking what he was to do (as though he had absolutely no idea) and after it was explained that we was called out for a whole house electrical inspection with written estimate of the costs, he informed me the whole house (general) inspection I had in hand, which he did not see nor know the source thereof, was well done and he would simply view each item identified on the list and provide an estimate for its repair. Since I neither requested nor paid for the inspection, I did not have the confidence in the report Mr. Ryan seemed to have, when he hadn't even read it or know the inspector's name. Upon my direction he then proceeded to an external fixture, where, after dissembling it and finding several items needing repair (aluminum wiring, a broken mounting pole, and improper connections) said he certainly hoped the other other items on my list didn't take nearly this long. We proceeded inside where he suggested one of the members of our group might like to go back outside to retrieve the testing device he'd left out there. We suggested politely we'd watch his equipment while he look for his own testing device. Once back, he asked to be directed to the next item on the list, and in turn he viewed outlets and took notes regarding the number, color and type that would be needed, occasionally mentioning his opinion of buyer versus seller obligations in an inspection. In the kitchen, when I pointed to an oven and a microwave which were found in the previous inspection to be wanting for lights, when he found one oven light functional but a second was not lit, his response was (sarcastically) "I don't know how light you need it inside an oven" but then said we could change our own lightbulb. We proceeded downstairs to the basement where he examined the main panel and then launched into more commentary on what a seller should be expected to pay for versus what, in his opinion, a buyer should be expected to pay for. I firmly clarified this was a buyers inspection and that we were categorizing enhancements separately from repairs (a fact, incidentally, to which he was not requested to contribute). He struggled to explain the reason for his recommendation for the aluminum wiring to my realtor, an experienced professional with nearly 30 years in the industry. Before he left he asked for my deadline for delivery of the estimate and when I said Friday (the next day) he seemed annoyed so I said Monday would be fine. In short, Mr. Ryan may have skills as an electrician, however his interpersonal skills are so poor as to lead me to be unable to recommend him for an inspection of any kind.

The work was done to my complete satisfaction. Pat and crew were professional and fast, Kept to the schedule and the estimate was spot on.

This is the 3rd time I've use Ryan Electric and each time I get quality service. Pat is an individual that is hardworking and quality driven. He arrived at 9 am and completed work at approximately 5 pm. and never stopped working until done. He provided our home with dedicated circuit to the front landscaped area and another to back area. This wasn't an easy job since I had a finished basement. Pat hand dug the area from back of house to new electric box in our landscaping area. This ditch was about a foot down and approximately 12 ft long with rocks and tree roots along his way. Somehow he was able to run electric cable from inside circuit box to this new line. I knew that was a very hard job since he went through a finished area. Pat is a vendor that I have complete confidence in and his knowledge works in favor of client. If there is an easier way to accomplish what you want done, he will tell you. In all the times he has done work for us it seems that it was his aim to save us money. So if your looking for honest, quality work for a reasonable price this is you man.

Showed up exactly when he said he would. Friendly, helpful and explained everything in good detail. Matt was an electrical wiz. Found out he couldn't get up into the upper attic and was slightly discouraged as I thought he was going to be unable to install the exhaust fan. He actually had another way and was able to install the exhaust fan in my master bath without any issues and I got a new fire alarm to boot! I am pretty impressed with the services provided and the price was fair.

Electrician showed up early and was done super fast. Was very courteous and professional. Came in under other eistimates I had received by almost 50%. I would highly recommend Ryan Electric for your residential electric needs.

Project got put to the side for a couple years and when I was ready to complete the work, I called Ryan Electric. Matt came out to see what I was looking to have done and they even honored the old bid pricing. The work they did was even better than I had hoped for.. They were able to run all outlets without tearing up existing sheetrock. Matt was also great about offering suggestions. Any future electrical jobs will only go to Ryan Electric and you would be wise to call them too.

Mr Ryan was very responsive, even on the weekend and was very understanding when I was required to cancel our first appointment at the last minute. I very much appreciate his willingness to work with my difficult situation and will definitely use him again in the future.

Although I'm late writing this review, it's been on my mind to get in here and get this done because Pat deserves the positive feedback. I won't go into all the details of what I had done but what I really want to tell you is I highly recommend Ryan Electric. They were prompt for their appointments with me, friendly and professional, and they did good work. They even squeezed me into their schedule by performing the work on a Sunday so I didn't have to wait until after the holidays. The price was right and they did everything I wanted done. I would absolutely call them again for my next electrical job.

Pat arrived precisely on time with two helpers. I asked him to call my husband at work and confirm what was going to be done per his estimate which he gladly did. My husband asked him to do some additional work so that we would have a back up plan if our satellite went out in a storm. He graciously accommodated that request. They arrived at 9:30a and worked non-stop until 1p. They left having cleaned up nicely and finished everything we asked them to do. My husband was very impressed with Pat's ability to quickly understand what was wanted and get it done in a skilled and professional manner. We would definitely hire Pat and his team again.

It went great! I worked directly with Matt Davis and feel like he really takes care of me and my family needs. We had Ryan electric out to quote a few electrical projects when we bought the house in 2013. Matt came out and suggested that we install an interconnected smoke detector system as our house has aluminum wiring and we did not have smoke detectors up to code (in the various rooms, etc...). We had them back out about a year later to do the work. I was interested in buying the smoke detectors myself and Matt was very accommodating at adjusting his quote to accomodate. We then had him back out to install 2 sconces in a wood paneled room. With the paneling, it was a little tricky, but he did a great job and they look great. The pricing also was very reasonable (we had multiple quotes). We feel Matt takes care of us and like working with him. We will use him for our future electrical needs.

He totally changed my idea and saved me considerable amount of money. I received 2 to 3 quotes, but I deceied to stick with him. I currently have an 100 amp panel and I thought I should switch to 200 amp which would have cost me around 4000$. He convinced me that I didn't need to go that high and I can keep my 100 amp and get a box with more circuits than the one I currently have and that would cost me around 1800$. I was very impressed that the gentleman was honest and forthright on it. I have decided to postpone the work until September. Since it was delayed so long, he even sent me an email confirming the amount of money he sated.

We were installing an island range hood and needed power and an outlet for the install. Pat accomplished the job despite some tricky maneuvering and fishing required to reach the ceiling location. On our install day, they turned out to be short on time due to other jobs taking longer than expected, but Pat got the job done on the promised day despite having to come back and do it in the evening. He also contributed a few ideas which made the range hood install easier.

Pat moved an outlet in the garage to enable the placement of a utility sink and he also added another outlet in that space. He added a new circuit for the finished basement with four new outlets at various points around the room. He added three new fluorescent fixtures and a new 20 amp dedicated outlet in the laundry room. Pat replaced three fluorescent fixtures in the finished basement. All of the new and replacement fixtures required outlets to be added to enable them to be plugged in rather than being hardwired. The outlets should make it easier for me to change out the fixtures if it should be necessary in the future. The work was completed in one day.

I was extremely pleased with Ryan Electric. I did not have to wait long for an appointment. Pat Ryan came to the house at the appointed time. He was great! Very knowledgeable, courteous and very professional.The work was completed in a short period of time in an outstanding manner. I will use Ryan electric again and would recommend them to my neighbors and friends.

Pat and Matt did a wonderful job. They were professional, polite and did a great job on my lights and ceiling fan. I will be using them for all my electrical needs.

We got them from Angie's List and it went very well. They're very knowledgeable, respond quickly and came out quickly. We were very happy with their work. They left the area clean and didn't have to take that much apart.

I was extremely pleased with the work provided by Ryan Electric. Pat was very easy to work with and provided a fair price for the work completed. We decided on some changes after the initial bid and Pat was very responsive and fair on providing a new bid. The work was done in a timely manner and looks great. Pat was great. Very knowledge. Very nice. It was a great experience. He worked quickly with an assistant. They were very respectful and kept the house clean. I will definitely use Pat in the future. Very reasonably priced also.

Rough wire was completed in one day.

I have hired Ryan Electric to do work for me twice now. Both times Matt Davis cam out and performed the work. The first time it was to repair/replace 3 GFI outlets in the front of my home, 1 GFI outlet in the back of my home, install a new LED light in my workout area, and install 2 new power receptacle for a TV and workout equipment. He was on time, courteous, knowledgable, friendly, and best of all at a GREAT PRICE! The second time Matt came out he turned my office closet install a full fledged computer room! Moving all of my connections (Fiber, Cable, etc.) all of my equipment (servers, printer, router,), whole home surge protector, and then running all of the cabling throughout my home to connect all devices to all inputs in my home. They were here for more than the time they quoted by 3 hours and yet charged me less than they quoted because the material costs were not as high as expected and they had extra cabling. Total class act, great service, and just great company! Can not recommend enough
