I pay an extra service so if anything breaks in the house it doesn't cost me anything out of pocket for as long as I have the equipment. I have had technician come quite a bit. I have been with them or 16 years, and I wouldn't change them. They don't increase their prices very often.

Our installation technician was very courteous, however, he was given an installation assignment when normally he does maintenance so the job was out of his normal scope of work. It ended up taking almost 6 hours for him to complete the switchover, which was much longer than we had anticipated. He was supposed to have an additional technician show up to help him and that never happened. We are hopeful their monitoring and customer service prove to be as good as advertised. Our startup cost was supposed to be less if we ended up needing less sensors during the installation. As of right now, our billing statement is the same even though we didn't need two of the sensors listed on the work order. I will be in touch with customer service to see if they can correct this.
Description of Work: Transferred security system over from ADT to Protection 1. Added 5 additional sensors.

This company was at the Mavericks Game at the Independence Events Center. We had them come to the house and give us an estimate. They had a good plan and less time in contract than others. We believe in supporting companies that advertise with Independence.

Used monitoring system for several years, however they continue to raise their rates year after year. I finally had enough and called and cancelled the service in October. By the way you pay a month in Advance, so i had already paid October A month later i got a call from the Presidents office asking why i had cancelled the service and could they do anything, and offered to lower the rate greatly. I said no, at that time, November, i was informed they could not cancel the service with out an email or letter. Now a month had gone by i explained why didn't the person i had 1st cancelled the service with told me to send letter. I sent an email right then, NOW 1-6-2013 they want $90 dollars back pay for not cancelling the service like i ask. I have spoken to several folks and supervisors and they just keep saying we owe them 90 dollars. We are getting calls every night and now letters in mail. We call like they ask and never get anywhere. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

They are inexpensive. They are local. Customer service is great. They are competitive as well. They took their time in explaining it to me.
Description of Work: I used the services of Protection One for alarm system. I last used them in February 2011.

We thought the installer was coming out prior to windows being replaced to save wiring and window contacts. He didn't and window installers couldn't save them. An installer came in next day and did a very sloppy job. We had to have another installer come out to do what he could to improve the aesthetics, repair hookups (some very marginal) and to make sure it was working correctly.
Description of Work: We had to have our windows replaced, so we had to have new controls on all windows and we had new, updated box and fire alarms.

VERY TIMELY. THEY WERE HELPFUL AND COURTEOUS PROFESSIONALS. WORK WAS DONE AS PROMISED.
