MVP Electric, Heating & Cooling

It is an older house and the furnace is in the crawl space. I had the technician check it over because we just bought the house. After going down into the crawl space 3 months later to change the filter, I found that the technician just jammed in a filter that was way too large. It's a relatively minor thing but not anything that I would expect to have happened from a reputable company. That all being said, it was an Angie's List promotion and the whole thing cost me something like $35 so I can't complain too much.

Very well. The staff did an excellent job.

Scheduling was easy, prompt arrival, excellent work, fantastic (coupon) price.

They did a very good job with the installing of the box outside and inside the trenching could have went a little better but they got the job done.

It went well. Our technician came out immediately to assess the repair, and finalized work about a week later. They were punctual and professional and completed work as promised.

Mike explained everything he was going to do very clearly. They worked quickly and finished the job quicker than I expected.

The zone controller allowed us to heat or cool only the floors we wanted. The best $2500 I've spent on heating in cooling. Instead of taking an hour to cool my upstairs it takes five minutes. My electric was $200, now it is $110. They are fantastic. Money well spent.

I think they have the best deal in town. We pay them a fixed fee for the year and even if you call for an emergency they give you a 20% discount. Since we have a contract we get precedence. This winter all of a sudden our heater was not working, I woke up and it was 50 degrees so I called them up. They have a 24 hour answering service. I forget her name, but she called me back and said they'd have someone out within a matter of ours. I started using them about six years ago. They are really good, they use social media, they contact you, they even send you a text message when their coming with the employees profile. They are very very good.

I am extremely pleased. The electrician, Mike, moved things out of the way, did the work efficiently and neatly, and cleaned up afterwards. I have used MVP for many projects over the last 3+ years and am always satisfied and treated with courtesy.

They were referred to me by a neighbor. I have a yearly contract with them now. I use them a minimum of twice a year. They are very good to work with.

They've had to come back a few time to assist with issues we have had. Overall I think they are willing to help and are courteous. I am not completely happy with the quality of the instillation. There are pipes leaking on the new furnace, rusting it. The exhaust is veining under a upstairs window which I don't think is right, but cant get anyone to tell me any different. These aren't big issue now but will be down the road I am sure. Everything works but I think there will be damage caused later.

The installation looks decent, but found it annoying that the entire time he was trying to upsell me on additional services that I don't need and didn't ask for. I came down at one point after he had started installing the new receptacle in the garage and found he had the covers off of my furnace (in a room he wasn't working in), "just in case" I decide to sign up for the annual service. It was exhausting turning down the "annual" service no less than 15 times during the day. I also had another contractor coming to provide an estimate for a sprinkler system. As soon as MVP found out that's what they were quoting he was offering to put a receptacle in for that as well. I was turned off by the high pressure sales tactics.

They are very good. I have had good luck with them. They have gone up in prices since I started working with them. I don't have much to go on, but it has gone up. Their quality is excellent. The workers are wonderful, I can't tell you how great they are. I remember calling him, and someone said I needed to upgraded my box, and he said no you didn't. I asked him at the time for the plug ins, and all. He actually would give me the amount per plugin, so I can have an idea of what the price was.

In the ensuing 8.5 years, I have had MVP out 4 times for repairs on this York furnace. Besides the original $8,000 for the new furnace, over $1,100 in repairs including three episodes of leaked refrigerant roughly a year or two apart and one major part replacement. This is on the system, they installed. I recently found out that York is at the bottom of the list of Consumer Report's Brand Reliability with a 19% repair rate over twice the rate to the top three furnace makers. [*** Link removed ***] My 5th failure occurred on the 8th February 2017, with another failure of a major part, and the discovery that MVP did not install the furnace bottom plate correctly leaving a 2-inch open gap along the rear of the furnace (affecting the performance of the system for the last 8.5 years). This episode adds another $530 (by another company) to the repairs done by MVP. I now have over $1,700 in this relative new furnace. Additionally, we never know when it is going to leak or break down again. Before selecting the other company, I called MVP and asked to speak to someone in management. A person not in management returned my phone call almost immediately, took my information and told me she would ask Chip Gabbert to call me. Four days later I called again and left another message for Chip.Those calls were never returned. Here is my record of calls: Jan 31: 11:32 AM (I asked to speak to someone in upper management.) Jan 31: 11:35 AM (Someone called me just 3 minutes later. She stated she was not in management. I explained the problem. She stated she would forward the information to Chip.) Feb 03: 09:01 AM (I called again and left message for Chip) Feb 09: 11:42 AM & 12:53 PM (my last attempt to reach Chip) I do not know what motivated Chip to not return my calls, but I do know it is unprofessional. I will never trust this company nor Chip Gabbert personally again.

I just had some electrical work done and it was pointed out to me that MVP did my work 8/6/13 and installed plugs all over my house and they are not up to code. For me to sell my house I must have all the plugs removed and replaced. They installed 3 prong plugs and none were grounded and that is completely against code. I am so disappointed. They should have grounded the work or not installed them at all.

Showed up on time, provided a call-ahead notice. The technician was friendly enough, went straight to work and made sure I understood the system prior to him departing.

They are perfect. I have signed another contract with them for next year. I have used them for like 10 years.

Everything went great! He it's professional and easy to understand on what needs to be completed.

i was disappointed to find out the installation assumed using a saddle valve instead of a quarter turn valve. Saddle valves are known to have leak issues. So to upgrade to a non-leaking valve you need to be prepared to spend additional coin. However, the technician was very professional and did a great job on the humidifier and quarter turn valve installation. The technician was a little late which was odd since it was the first call of the day.

They are excellent all the way. We would not use anybody else.

We have a contract with them. They do good work, reliable. The workers are fine.

I'm very, very disappointed in this company! The service tech said I had cracks in the fire box that were causing gas leaks. He showed me something on the video and said they were small cracks. So he turned off the gas, and gave me a proposal for a new furnace/air conditioner. I was shocked at the price - $8500-$9500. The next day I had service techs from 2 very reputable companies each look over the furnace and told me there's nothing wrong with it!!! And the first one turned my gas back on. I later got a bid for a new system for $2000 less than the MVP bid. The price difference doesn't bother me as much as the dishonesty.
