MVP Electric, Heating & Cooling

Seemed nice enough but after inspection of the outlet, they gave me a quote of nearly $900 additional to fix what they said were major problems. I said I needed to think about it so they fixed the outlets by literally pressing the button on the outlet and charged me an additional fee. Fearing my house was on the brink of burning down, I had another electrical company come out who told me their bid was nonsense, fixed it for $284 total including replacing the outlet box and connecting the ground wires completely which is what should have happened in the first place. I called MVP to explain what happened. Karen in the office was helpful and said someone would call. After a week, I had to call them again and she said their group was supposed to talk about it. I explained at a minimum I would like a refund of the additional charge they assessed. A day or two later she emailed to tell me they would refund the additional charge and someone was going to call me. To no ones surprise no one has ever called me again. Starting to think the Angie's list deals are never a deal. Most of the time the service is not something I will hire again.

Decent work, way too expensive. The deal on Angies paid for one light fixture installation. Lowe's would have done it for a cheaper price.

After scheduling the appointment, and confirming the appointment, they call me the day they are supposed to service my furnace and tell me, sorry for the late notice, but you are out of the service area. It would have been nice to know that I was out of the service area the day that I made the appointment and/or when they confirmed the appointment. I would not recommend this company.

It turned out good. I spent another $31 for a filter for my cooling. He did his job. The price was good.

It went well. He did what we asked him to do and in a reasonable time frame.

The electrician said they would not be able to install it without modifying the current fan's venting. It would cost an additional $350 for this modification. He was super nice about it but we cannot afford the extra cost. He stated that MVP would not have a problem with getting the $179.00 credited back to me and for me to contact Angie's List. He said you can contact Rhonda at MVP's offices if there were any issues.

The appointment went very well. The young lady was knowledgeable and friendly and was upfront about the time involved and any suggestions on items that may need to be addressed. The prices for everything were put out on paper and I was given brochures and their services and everything they check. I was very pleased with the service.

Angie's List had a special for a fall check up for my furnace, and we took of advantage of prescheduling and payment for the service. We received a bio on the technician, had the time set up, and he was prompt! Very thorough in his evaluation as well as the different programs offered by MVP, and a summary of what can be done and who else they work with in the industry. We have used other Angie's List vendors and this one, MVP just approached it a bit differently whether it was in the review of the services or in the face to face assessment of our furnace and A/C unit, overall it was very personable and professional.

The fan was not originally vented to the outside. So that would’ve had to be taken care of before the installing which I was not willing to pay extra for.

Scheduled for 8 am; not there by 9 so called. They left a message about the delay but had written my number down wrong so I didn't get the message. Said he'd be there shortly after 10; arrived a 11:15. Was a little put off by the "sell" approach ... wanted me to sign up for services I didn't want. Felt like it took too long to get work done because he was always selling something else. I just wanted the work done that I wanted done. Work was done well ... he was knowledgeable so I was very comfortable with that. He was professional; liked that they had a list of prices for services so I didn't think it was "off the cuff" pricing.

They were great, price was reasonable on the extra work involved. They seemed to know what they were doing, very pleased with the expierence.

They agreed to do both inspections for twice the special price that they had advertised for the furnace inspection. They were careful to schedule it on a day that would be warm enough to do a valid A/C test. The tech answered all my questions.

It went well, they installed the light I needed. There were some extra charges but I was pleased with the work.

Excellent and thorough work. MVP has kept our older A/C unit purring for the two years we owned our home.

I purchased a big deal and it took a couple weeks just to get the estimate. I had 5 ceiling fans and 2 light fixtures to replace. They sent one electrician and after being at my house all day he only had 2 ceiling fans and 1 light fixture up. The scaffolding he had to reach the entryway light didn't work (I gave the dimensions of my ceiling before hand), and while installing a ceiling fan in the kitchen he hit a water pipe and water went everywhere and down into the basement. He was very apologetic, cleaned up the mess and said they would call to reschedule the rest of the job. After a week without hearing back from MVP I hired someone else. After adding up the "big deal" and the bill I paid the plumber, I still owed MVP $5.70. I asked if they would waive that fee since I had to take another weekday to meet the drywall guy for repairs, not to mention their electrician had left the decorative collar off the ceiling fan in my living room. MVP declined. Silver lining is that I found 3 great companies. Ryan Electric did an amazing job for hundreds less than what MVP was charging me! Johnson County Home Service Plumbing was at my house within 10 min. after the water pipe was hit and the Drywall Dr did a great job repairing my ceiling. I will not use MVP electric again and you can be sure they are going nowhere near my furnace or a/c. Overpriced. Poor workmanship. Poor customer service.

I couldn’t ask for better workmen. I also had them came back out to do other jobs for me as well. Their price was competitive and they did excellent work. They cleaned up everything once they were finished.

It went great. He kept us informed the entire time. We were initially only getting the surge protection and inspection but he needed to do additional work. There were bare wires in our circuit box that had to be fixed.

***I would like to add the Owner of MVP upon reading my review below contacted me immediately- and offered a full refund of the overcharge I experienced. Due to a personal medial situation I could neither follow-up with MVP at the time nor could I get this review updated sooner. To their credit I would consider giving them another try- the owner Chip was professional and swift in his response once he saw my review. **** Upon hiring MVP they sent me and email with a bio of the electrician who would come to my home which included his work experience. The electrician arrived with-in ten minutes of the appointment time and seemed put out from the onset of entering my home. He needed to go into the attic space and this also seemed to annoy him. He huffed and puffed the entire time he worked - and when he finished said there was an additional $125 fee. I had purchased ' $49 for an Electrical Service Call and $125 of Electrical Services'. Believing this would cover the service. I was paying for labor- I supplied all the product minus the dryer duct from the fan to the vent. I took a long time before writing this review because I was upset about being charged the extra $125 on top of the initial $125 for the install. I finally called the company to voice my complain. I was told the man who did our install no longer worked for MVP. They apologized for the experience. She assured me this was not typical of the way they do business. I asked her about the additional charge for the install-she told me that she could not speak to the details of the job as she was not there; but that their procedure is to inform the client of additional charges prior to the work. This did not happen in my situation. She did not offer a refund of the additional charge. I thanked her for listening to my complaint and informed her I would be writing the Angies List review soon. I am unsure if I would give MVP another try. However, the electrician who performed this work is no longer with them-so I may consider it in the future.

I bought a service through Angies's list for MVP Heating and Cooling. I bought it on a Saturday and was called 15 minutes after my purchase to set up the appointment. They gave me the first day I requested. The service tech called 30 minutes before he arrived. He preformed the service and check the unit and provided me with all the documentation to what was done. This service was one of the best experiences I have had. I am a property manager of services pieces of real estate and found this company to be one of the best in heating and air conditioning. I would use this company again and plan to.

Everything was fantastic. I was impressed that they got out here within a couple of hours of my call. The first company I called told me they couldn't be here for another five days.

Not well, they had horrible punctuality and they actually called to confirm they were coming over but on that day nobody showed up. They did eventually come and provide the service but they were not able to find the cause of the situation and we are still having the same issue. So we have to find someone else, we will not be going to them again. The price was fine.

Provider was nice and did a good job. Few things i felt weren't up to snuff: 1) Warranty on parts were only 30 days unless i paid for "better" parts. Really 30 days? 2 ) After the provider left, i noticed there were MVP stickers on my stuff everywhere - on the A/C unit - on the box on the outside of my house going to the A/C unit - on my electrical panel - on my duct work for my furnace. I felt like I'd been "marked" like a dog would mark its territory. If i like a provider i will use them again and its NOT because of the stickers they leave at my premises.
