I had estimates from 3 Angie's List contactors 2 of which were more than double the Mr. Handyman of Northeast Johnson County (NE JOCO) estimate. Once the schedule was agreed too the work crew, (3) men arrived on time and began the work At first they were experiencing the same difficulties as I was having in getting the 16' composite decking to conform with the sub-frame of the deck. They identified the problem between the old and new deck joist and added sister joist to the old deck joist which caused problem. Once this was corrected the remaining decking went much faster. This added a small cost to the job but was explained in detail and agreed to. The work took a little longer than was scheduled but overall we are very pleased with the finished deck and the professionalism of the crew and company as a whole. We would definitely use Mr. Handyman of NE JOCO again.

The first handyman couldn't get the board out. And when I asked him to put a towel down on my hardwood floors so the would be scraped by the tools he was dropping on them, he left saying he needed to get another tool. He never returned. The office manager called me a told me that he wasn't coming back because he didn't like me watching him work. The next handyman took three visits to get the board out, damaging my wall and carpet. The board they replaced it with was not the right color and the routing on the board was different. I complained about it and they redid the board. Still not the right color. And the said they didn't have the right router bit and I'm stuck with what they have. This process took over four months to get a non-matching board and they still haven't replaced my damaged carpet as they promised. Last time I called they said they were looking for a carpet installer and they'll get back to me. But they never do. Clearly, they're just hoping I'll give up. They are the most unprofessional company I've ever worked with. Don't hire them,

I had about 3 days of work done, I'd say 90% of the work was great. However, and this is my fault, but as cleaned up the drywall mess and got close with all the work the trim is pretty rough on the eyes. The workers were good dudes, and overall pretty solid work. But the minor details are the issues I had. Again, the trim is basically cut and pasted. It *kind of* matches the old trim, but there's parts where I have floating trim just hanging there. Aesthetically, it's pretty rough and will definitely require another project to get looking good. The half wall short of the trim is awesome, they did an awesome job there. Lastly my door had a lot of draft coming in and I think a lot of this is due to the fact the quote I got was way short of the cost and I was basically "red" for their profits but the weather proofing actually made the draft get worse due to it not allowing the door close all the way, so that to will be another issue. I should likely have gotten a new door all together because the current door has a LOT of but was talked out of it. Overall, not bad. The drywall work and half wall are great, the workers were nice people and I'm sure if I had seen the issues before I signed the sheet they would have helped. So it's my fault there no doubt. The trim (probably the most expensive part of the project) and weather stripping basically were wastes of money at this point however as it stands. Overall give em a C. The little things I thought I would just be able to paint over intitally are not done well enough to paint them yet. Will have to replace the trim and have random holes due to replacing the old trim.

The technician showed up on time and was very professional. The work was completed in the first trip and we are very satisfied with the service we received.

Something I like about this company is they send you an e-mail when the Tech is enroute and the e-mail even has a picture and name of the Tech who will be coming to your house. I had multiple "odds & ends" that needed fixing including some stucco repair. Marc, the Tech, was professional and did great work. I will definitely keep using their services.

The repairs were done well and quickly. The original window did not fit so another one had to be custom ordered but they returned as soon as they had it and completed the repair. They were prompt, profession, friendly and clean. I like receiving an email with the picture of the service man when they were on the way

No word for over a week. Called company and they said they would check into it. Marc soon called and said he could no longer pull permits in Overland Park.

First off I would like to say this is our very first time of hiring someone to come into our home to do any kind of work like this. Needless to say we are very disappointed in our entire experience. Very poor workmanship on all of the work. Bought construction grade not trim material and stained them. Didn't put the top coat on them and nailed them up to the wall. Because the gentleman's bit for his router was broke he wanted to leave the boards just squared off like you purchase them. My husband offered to let him use our router to round off the top edges of the boards. He did a very poor quality of work on these putting gauges in numerous place Poorly patched and then painted over the nicks and holes on the wall from a previous child's gate. Placed baseboard in our front room not even matching up to the baseboard that was already in place. Over charged for the boards that was purchased. Not sure why but took all the extra boards including the base board my husband had made as an example of what we were wanting along with the extra base board that we had purchased ourselves. I made a phone to Mr. Handyman telling them my concerns and dislikes. Lead tech was sent out to my home to look at the finished product. He agreed with me that it was poor workmanship and he promised the company would make things right for us. Was told I would receive a phone call the following day after speaking to the owner. No phone call! It was Memorial Weekend so I made another phone call to the company on that Tuesday. Again I was assured that she would discuss with the owner and lead tech how they was going to solve our issue and when someone would be out to complete our work. This is the end of the following day with no return phone calls. This is very discouraging and upsetting. We was looking to find a good Handyman service for we have several more projects that we would like taken care of. But I can assure you this company will not be doing any more work in my home.

Company would not even respond to my problem

We were very disappointed with our experience. We hired Mr. Handyman to patch holes in our closet and garage and then paint it. They allocated a worker ~8 hours over 2 days to do this project. For the first night, the handyman patched the holes in the closet and garage in preparation for painting the next day. The Handyman took about 2.5 hours to patch, which seemed a little slow for $100/hr. When the handyman showed up the second day, we were a little concerned that he would be able to get the job done with just rollers and 1 person. We asked about this and were told that all they had allocated was a single handyman and they had no specialized painting equipment (like sprayers). We were right to be concerned. After 7-8 hours, the handyman had only completed cutting in on our garage and one coat of in our small closet. When I called the owner about this lack of progress, he said we had increased the scope of the job after they bid on it and we had unreasonable expectations for what a handyman could do. We expressed our frustration, told the handyman to stop working, paid in full and sent the handyman home. I don't believe we mis-stated the scope of work or timing, but even if we did, the handyman should have raised that issue on Day 1. We had to call and beg a GC (Bradford Homes LLC, a lifesaver!) we had worked with to save us, as well as paint all night ourselves. In the end, our contractor got more done in a couple of hours than the handyman did in 2 days. We will take the owner of Mr. Handyman's suggestion to only hire specialists from now on. We will NOT be using them ever again.

It went great! There was nothing too small or large for Mark. He went the extra steps and was professional and friendly.

It went great! Technician was on time, every time, and had to make several trips due to the nature of the job. He was pleasant and very professional. When the job was done, the area was completely cleaned up and ready for us! Floor looks great and I will definitely use Mr. Handyman of NE Johnson county again. Thanks to my friends for this great referral!

The whole process was fantastic. The owner of the company came out and met with us and we put together our list of what needed to be done. Everyone we dealt with from this company was very professional. The day of our appointment, they called ahead and told us who was coming and when we should expect him to arrive. The Handyman came out on time and was able to clearly explain the jobs he was going to perform. He started with the lights, unclogged the gutter ( a tennis ball had made it's way into the gutter) and then he fixed the entertainment cabinets and then went about fixing the tiles, wooden pillars and outside lights.
