Mr. Handyman of NE Johnson County

Replacing two bath exhaust fans is a much bigger job than Mr. Handyman led me to believe. When I first talk to the owner on the phone he said most likely they would not need to go in the attic and if I already had the fans it would take 1 to 1.5 hours. I said they probably will need to go into the attic to get the old brace out. I did not think about installing a new brace but he had to. Anyway it took a little over 3 hours and some of that was somewhat impacted by two layers of sheet rock on the ceilings. It is possible that another style of fan could have been installed faster, but I bought two different brands so the installer could pick. He had no preference. Anyway the installer worked hard and fast, but it was a big job. Boy am I glad I did not try to install them myself. We now have very quiet fans but a mess to clean up in the bathrooms which I expected all along.

I was very impressed with the customer service. I was contacted immediately and someone emailed me as to who would be doing the work as well as a picture of the technician who would be showing up. I highly recommend them as they go out of their way to make sure the customer is happy.

I had several areas requiring repair. They came when they said they would come. They completed the work by the time they said it would be completed. The final cost was just under the original bid. I was very happy with the results.

Professional repair at a reasonable price. The craftsman took care of some structural work along with replacing two floor planks that were beginning to suffer wood rot. My 25-year-old deck is solid and in great condition. With regular care, it should last another 25 years. I would definitely use this company again.

I had a great experience with my first service request. We had a locked and broken bathroom door knob. I called around 8:30AM and someone was at our house by 12:30PM to make the repair and replacement, including a short shopping trip to buy the new door knob. Courteous and timely service. We will look to hire them again in the future.

bid was low and they end up charging more

The man who came to do my work wasted lots of time hunting for the water shut off valve. He made 2 trips to Walmart or Lowes and never showed me the receipts. He did a great job of installing the light fixture. He did not get the ice maker on the refrigerator working. I had to have him out the next day to fix a valve that would not allow the water to run. He finally got the valve working. The company was very expensive but did not charge for him to come back and finish the project.
