Dane was very courteous. The job was done promptly and cleanup was great. My only complaint was that they would not accept a credit card payment unless I paid their share of the credit card company's fees plus mine. No one said that they did not support credit cards and it was not stated so in the contract. So be aware, if you need to use a credit card, inquire first. Otherwise the roof looks nice but only time will tell if it was a good job.

This is lengthy, but to get a full view of my rating, it is necessary to explain in detail. I initially came to know of KC Roofscapes when they performed repair work on my roof in 2015. When hail damaged our roof in March 2017, I spoke with other contractors but was most comfortable with KC Roofscapes' Dane Shea and Nate Miller. Nate agreed to assist with all aspects of the needed repairs...the roof, new guttering and window screens. When we met to discuss the specifics, I advised that I wanted to wait to complete the repairs until after the typical hail season and we agreed to complete the repairs in mid-June. I specifically advised that I didn't want any billing shenanigans that some homeowners and contractors conduct to recoup the homeowner's deductible. During this meeting, Nate advised he would need access to our attic during the repairs to insure that the roof was adequately ventilated citing a need to take measurements and check for proper airflow and venting. He claimed to have seen many builders fail to properly vent attics, thus during a roof replacement was a good time to verify this. We scheduled the beginning date about 5-6 weeks in advance. When scheduling the beginning date, I asked about the screen work and guttering and (in the emails I still have) Dane replied "typically scheduling works out for our subs to come in right behind us." About 5 days before the repair work was to begin, I contacted Nate and Dane because I had not had contact regarding when materials would arrive, etc. In response, the supplies showed up one or two days before work was to begin. The crew was polite and hard-working. They removed the old roof and completed the installation in two days. On the afternoon of the first day, I asked Dane when Nate would arrive to conduct his attic inspection and take measurements. Even though he had been present when Nate offered his explanation, Dane seemed surprised that I asked. He said Nate likely wouldn't do this and I replied it was foolish for Nate to make b.s. claims if he wasn't going to follow through. I also asked when the guttering work would begin and he said they had not yet scheduled it, but their gutter guy was backed up for at least 12 weeks. So much for getting that work done anytime soon. When I asked about the screens, I was told "we normally just take them to a place at Johnson and Nieman". I asked when those would be replaced and was told he wasn't sure he'd have time to take them, suggesting I could take them there myself if I wanted. The lack of coordinated scheduling was frustrating and I simply told him I'd handle getting the gutters and screens repaired on my own. However, I asked if they knew someone that could do siding work. Nate called me to schedule an estimate appointment on Thursday evening. A few minutes before they were supposed to arrive, Nate called and asked if we could reschedule for the next night, which we did. Friday came and went without an appearance, without a call and without a

I needed some shingles replaced due to high winds. I had gotten an estimate from Dane first, but decided to go with the "other guy". When that fell through, Dane agreed to come out to do the job anyway, and at the original quote! I was having trouble getting the first guy to come out but Dane came out the next day, when he said he would be there. I needed the repairs done because the weather was going to get bad the day after he was out, and I wanted it done for my piece of mind. He even charged me $25 dollars less then the first quote, but I paid him the original amount because I was pleased that he got the job done in a quick and professional manner, unlike the "other guy". I will call Dane for all my roofing needs. The "other guy" lost out!
